Spyware? - General Questions and Answers

Hello everyone.
I'm on a Motorola G6 plus, Android 9. There is this function, I am not sure if it's carrier based. Phone numbers that are not in my contacts, that call me or I call myself, often show names. For example, I never called number 555 1234, but when I do, it will say "Irish Harp pub", and usually the names are correct. Recently I called a cab service and it gave me the name for a completely different business (that I researched has a completely different number) and I was quite irritated. I was wondering about that function and if it has a certain name so I can do more research, I was already worried, if there is some sort of spyware on the phone, that listened in to my call, by taking it and then redirecting it to the number I originally dialed, but only after (accidently) showing the actual name of the number it was redirected to first.
Cheers
B.

I don't think it is some spyware. Maybe you have enabled a feature 'Online Yellow Pages'.
In addition to contacts you created, in 'Yellow Pages' there are some contacts maintained by your device manufacturer or your carrier.

Sound like Google malarkey. It's an app doing it.
It seems to have a lot of permissions...
One of the reasons I disabled all carrier bloatware except messages on my AT&T 10+

Bug or something?

Here's what it is.
If you try dialing those service USSD, or USSID, don't know what it is called, you cannot press a key for reply.
Try dialing something like *xxx#, then a notification comes asking to dial either 1 for Option 1 or 2 for Option 2, and there's no possible way as to press the key.
It is not actually calling, but something you dial like when you want to check your credits.
Here's what a nokia phone gives. Its written 'Message', but its not SMS but got only by dialing as said above.

Is there any work-around or something which I can do?
It's not a bug, but yeah this is not currently possible with Windows Phone 7.
Just because of this I have to switch sim card in phone, hate alot MS cant provide this basic age old feature.
Windows mobile didn't had this prob.
Since MS, perhaps doesn't know this, is there any way to inform them or can we expect an update for this? Or is this so unused thing that nobody needs it anymore.
It will come in next updates. or you can visit official wp site and submit request feature

[Q] go contacts help

My go contact app continuously list the same number multiple times within each contact. Extremely annoying when trying to message or call anyone and a popup window showing three nearly identical numbers, asks you which number you want to send it to. I tried to contact the go dev team but found their forum to be completely in Japanese. So I'm turning to XDA who has never let me down. Under my stock contact app the contacts are correct, listing every number only once. Let me show you what I'm talking about.

This is not an isolated contact issue. It repeats in almost every contact. The only difference between affected contacts and non-affected is non-affected contacts were never entered into my phone. Those contacts are only listed on Facebook. So my theory is that it is adding duplicate numbers depending on how many accounts are linked to that contact, ie Facebook, Skype, Voxer and of course my phone book itself. Is there any know app or editor or something that can help me eliminate this extremely frustrating issue, shy of going into each individual contact and editing them one by one?

*PRIVATE SPACE is a private place to keep your SMS and calls. You need to add the private number to the contacts, we will move the SMS and call from the system to here. You need to set a password (which is used to open this function). You can also create several spaces for different contacts.*IMAGE LOCKER is a function to protect important pictures (private photos, business image and so on). You need to set a password (which is used to open this function). This function will encrypt the source files physically, so even the others get the copy from the SD card, they will not be able to see it either.*DISGUISE CALL & SMS Imagine this situation: important customers call you in a business meeting. Google Assistant and SMS

Hi folks
I was just wondering if any fellow mix 2s users had the same issue as me.
Basically,if you use the Google Assistant / OK Google function to send an sms,it will appear in your native messaging app twice,one of those messages will have a number indicating which sim it was sent from,while the other will not.
However the person receiving the text will just receive one sms as they should...
I only got the phone recently and it updated to miui 10 so not sure if its just a bug in the software or it existed in previous versions,or perhaps its just my phone....Also I have tried a factory reset too and still persists
Ive attached an image below,hopefully it will help understand what I mean...Any help much appreciated...

I've noticed this too. This has been going on for a long time now, at least since Google Assistant has been around. I've owned multiple Xiaomi devices, and it's happened on all of them.
This is my first xiaomi device,it's a very annoying little bug..but as least it's some comfort knowing it's not just my phone I guess ha.... Mostly I just use the voice assistance with android auto in the car for sending sms.
I've forwarded the bug to xiaomi not that it will change much I guess as you mentioned you had several devices and it's always been like that...
Appreciate your input anyway bud!

Question SECURITY THREAT: I am finding Dual apps on my phone that I have never installed

Samsung has this Dual messenger feature that allows you to have two running instances of your messenger and social media applications.
Today i started seeing in my apps list in settings a bunch of "Dual" apps that i never enabled and are just there and I cant uninstall them and some I cant even disable.
Below are some examples

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The only legitimate one that I enabled was whatsapp
I am afraid the security of my device is compromised, and I did a threat scan in the settings, it scanned all my apps, but weirdly it did not scan those dual ones which is making me become more sus.
Any info provided could be a great help, thanks.
That is normal. They are needed for Dual apps to work.
Dual Apps feature enables a secondary user on your system which starts with User 10, 11, 12, etc.
Each time a new user is created, some system apps are automatically cloned to the new user environment.
So, don't worry. Your system isn't infected and this is no security threat.
