I'm on the March 1st security patch therefor i cannot use unlock method from afaneh92 and i need to downgrade back to Feb 1st or older security patch. Anything has some instruction and links how i can perform this? Looking to pay for root once im downgraded.
You'll need to reflash it.
A Samsung Experience center at Best Buys can do that.
What issues are you having?

Hey, I'm sorry for being a total noob at this. I have an unlocked and rooted Verizon Pixel. I'm on 7.1 and I want to update to 7.1.1. How should I go about doing this while keeping root and my unlocked bootloader? Do I just take the OTA? Thanks!

Root will stop the update. Since you are a noob I suggest you use Skipsoft toolkit, its in the pixel or pixel XL ROM, kernel....Forum. You tell it to use the latest image and it will ask you if you want to save data. It will flash, TWRP and root in one way step.
Consider waiting until Tuesday, when the January update comes. Save you doing it twice.
And read the tutorials on how to do this manually in case you have trouble later on.

Alright, thanks for your help!
Hello,
This might be a repeat question, but somehow I am not able to get a stable solution.
So I am on G930A ATT and just received Nougat update. However, I would want to go back to Marshmallow 6.0.1
My device is NOT rooted and is locked to ATT.
Any suggestions how can I get back MM 6.0.1 ? Can someone please guide me with detailed steps and tools which can be used.
Thanks.

Don't think you can as your S7's bootloader is locked meaning downgrading won't work, only upgrading

Thank you for response.. But could you please elaborate a bit.. so I can't downgrade due to the fact that my device is locked to ATT..
If it would have been unlocked, then I could ? Trust me, Nougat update is really annoying and I really want to get rid of it..

It's the bootloader of the US model S7s (Snapdragon) that prevent it, along with preventing flashing custom recovery afaik
Usually you would just use ODIN and grab the ROM you want to flash from updato.com or sammobile but I'm almost certain downgrading is blocked if the bootloader is locked
Not specifically anything to do with your AT&T carrier, it's the phones themselves that are locked
Some info here about snapdragon S7s and their locked bootloader

Hi all, currently running my pixel 2 on latest Dec security patch. 8.1. However due to bug in bootloader (66) unable to unlock the device. I can RMA but still want to know is there any way to revert back OTA update ?
I tried using OTA side load from Recovery but its giving me error saying current timestamp is newer than OTA so failing.
Any tweak to downgrade ?

As far as i know u cant downgrade. Regarding the bug in bootloader unlocking, that has been solved. Restore factory your device and you should be able to unlock bootloader.

I tried but facing issue. Its toggling but at the time of flashing fastboot command its saying locked.
I doubt something broke in 66 version of bootloader. That's why wanted to be on previous version to check the solution

Prolly yeah. But i was able to unlock bootloader on 2 pixel 2 phones running 8.1. mine and my fiance. Prolly weird and rare bug
I have just received my A53 and can't do anything with it as long as there is no root.
Has anyone already found something on the internet?
Seeing as no guides are available for root, the best thing you can do is do some research yourself. Maybe a root method for a similar device will work.
MrFreeze
The A53 has been released and you already want root, you will have to wait for it to appear which will take some time.
As suggested you can try using other methods used in other models at your own risk, if it goes wrong the phone is brick
I hope a root release is soon this phone has a lot of bloatware that cannot be removed without root.
Root is released.
i've requested the source files on samsung's open source site, so hopefully they'll be released at some point, it might aid in development for this device

Source or link?
You want permeant root or temp root? My understanding is dirty pipe was only fixed in April SPL so if you didn't update your phone, you can get temp root by using Dirty Pipe.
Can we have links to root methods please?
Looking forward to getting started messing around

I'm on April SPL with a locked bootloader. Can I flash the older firmware with March SPL to get access to dirtypipe exploit?
edit: It worked and I'm on March SPL, but the only tool I can find for root access right now with this exploit is exclusive to the pixel 6

U/U1/W SERIES (USA/CANADA PHONES) CANNOT BE ROOTED AT THIS TIME
Hi, I have a Pixel 7 Pro without unlocked bootloader. Is it chance to flasch older OTA firmware ? I have from January 2023 but I want to flash Nov 2022. Is it possible?
Just unlock the phone, so that you can flash in proper manner.

It's not recommended to go back and fort, let alone downgrading 2 months worth of updates. December was a big update as well, so that's definitely not recommended.
Why go back to November though? Also, you're not going to get much accomplished other than updating without unlocking your bootloader.

I have got pixel from T-mobile US. It is carrier locked. I need back to Nov firmware and use pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.apps.work.oobconfig in adb. So is it possible to back from beta to OTA from Nov without root and OEM unlock ?

Ahhh, I see.
You won't be able to go back versions AFAIK, but from beta to the latest stock, I believe that's possible.
As for being carrier locked, I've seen some people around say that the carrier representatives, some actually help out(depending on what you tell them or maybe you just luck out and get a super helpful representative on the line).
You can flash older updates if you unlock the bootloader, no? Just make sure to format existing data on the phone as well.
