Google Recorder stopped responding, is crashing, I need to recover my files, help appreciated - Google Pixel 4a Questions & Answers

Hello guys,
can you please try something for me? Preferrably on Pixel 4a, yet others should work too.
Can you update the Google Recorder to the last version, record something, go to App Info, Disable the app, restart phone, enable the app again and see if your recording is still there or whether it got deleted?
My Google Recorder stopped responding (presumably after the last update). I cannot start the app and I need to save my files. I will be grateful for your help.
More info about my problem to be found here:
Google Recorder crashes and cannot start, I have more than 1GB of recordings I cannot lose, help - Google Pixel Community
Something more about the recorder (not from me)

//https://www.reddit.com/r/pixel_phones/comments/hc7w4h/cant_find_my_google_recorder_files_after/
I cannot root without losing data. Maybe someone can also advice me how to get the files using the "ADB commands"?
Thanks in advance for any tips

The location of the recordings is here on a pixel 4a:

Hello John, thanks for your reply, yet this folder not accessible without ROOT. That is the issue and the whole reason why I have this problem. Unless you have some other way / app which can access it. For me, the folder is completely hidden.
Edit: Root browser by JRummy Apps can view the recorder folder in data\data,
but it does not see any files folder or any files inside (as I am not rooted and rooting would wipe the device).

But apparently there is a parent "Mount Point" of /dev/block/dm-1", so root browser may not be able to view that location.
Without root, it will be hard to get those files.
If this crashing of recorder happened with the latest update, then maybe other users are having the same problem, so google will fix it and hopefully it will start working again in the next version.
The only other thought I have is to find the APK of the previous working version, unpack it, make the version number one higher then the "bad" verison of recorder, repack and sign. Then you would be able to install it and it should see your files again.

Interesting, thanks. I will try that trick with modifying the version number, if the next recorder update won't fix the problem.

Hello good people. The 23/06/2021 Google Recorder update fixed my issue and I now succeeded in backing up my offline-saved recordings. This made me to choose other app to use for recording sound though. Beware as well!

Guide to remove "phone" files from wifi only tablet p900?

Searching around for a guide or better yet app to remove all the phone files from my p900. I would think it might benefit from that stuff not loading and running when its useless. Any ideas or comments would be appreciated.
Forgot to mention running stock lollypop 5.0.2 by Civato full Samsung rom.
There are many app removers on Google Play
https://play.google.com/store/search?q=app remover&c=apps&hl=en
Yes there are app removers. Have not found anything that will remove/kill phone services. Freezing them in titanium doesn't seem to stop them either. I was hoping someone knew what files and apks to safely remove.

I wonder why you believe there are phone services running in a Wifi model SM-P900. Even in a LTE tablet , all phone apps are disable.
This is an example from my LTE tablet from TMobile, Phone app is disable to prevent users use a LTE tablet as a phone.
Look at your Application Manager--> All, you will see Phone app is disable.

Even if you want to use LTE tablet as a phone, a modem must be installed and voice call must be enable in the firmware

If you look at running apps and services with an app like say fmr memory I think its called. You will see phone related apps running. I use it to find, tweak and turn off things I don't use or need with Titanium.

You should post a snapshot of processed of those you think phone related apps; otherwise it's very hard to answer a general question
regarding phone activities in a Wifi Note Pro.
My LTE doesn't have any activities of phone services when checking all running apps.
Deleted com.phone.android and it no longer runs. Many task apps show more detail on what is actually running on your system.

Phone deleting apps and Google Play Services by itself

So I've never seen this happen before but my phone started to delete random apps. At first they were ones I didn't really need so it didn't bother me but then a lot more went missing and when I went to use Paypal it told me that it couldn't work because Google Play Services wasn't on the phone. I had a (soon to be justified) panic attack/flashback to when my friend and I accidentally deleted Google Play Services by mistake and the ****storm we dealt with for two days straight until we were able to track down the correct odin version of her phone's firmware (she had a rare version of Sprint's S3, the Triband one and it was nigh impossible to track down her correct firmware). Any apps that get "deleted" show up in the app drawer/homescreens as having a generic grayed out picture with an "SD" logo on the bottom as if they were sent to SD...but they aren't in the Applications list in settings so I think it's the OS not understanding they're gone and the links still being stuck there.
Questions to you all:
A) Have any of you experienced this random app deleting? Is it a sign my phone's NAND is going bad?
B) Should I just odin the firmware back on and reroot or is there a way to simply to reinsert the correct version of Google Play Store/Services if one of you would kindly provide them (I'm on QG5, newest for G930T)
Thank you!

Bump, nobody else have this issue?
Not here. The only thing I have seen that is similar is when I restarted in safe mode, so all my user apps were disabled. In this case, are the apps deleted or just disabled?

No they were deleted, it was so weird. Again, I wouldn't really be that concerned if it didn't delete something as important as Google Play Services which limited a lot of functionality. I found some Play Services version to have it kind of work while I was in Ireland but things like Location/GPS and many apps wouldn't work right or not at all. It's a real pain in the ass how reliant so many things are on that one service.
I'm doing a full re-image on it now, just hope this was one time thing :-/

How To Guide [Problem solved] Xiaoxin Pad (P11 CN ver.) have issue with Youtube Vanced

I just received my Xiaoxin Pad (P11 china ver.) a few days ago. I quite liked the Chinese rom so I kept it and installed the google play apk from its app store. Then I installed YT Vanced from the official Vancedapp.com website. I have installed it many times on my phone, my mom's and my friends' phones before. All are working normally.
On this device, It was working fine at first, but after I switched to PC mode or reboot. Vanced reports offline status even though the network is still connected normally.

}
I tried to troubleshoot following Vanced's instructions, I also tried some of the ways found on reddit such as deleting the VancedMicroG account and re-login, but it only worked temporarily. The error still occurs when switching modes or restarting the device.
Please help me, I am going crazy with this endless loop.
UPDATE:
I have found the cause and solutions to this problem. MicroG was forcibly stopped by Autostart manager.
Fix:
On your homescreen, find SECURITY app => Auto Start
Click on Associated Autostart number
Turn on MicroG. Kill and reopen your Vanced and enjoy.
i have another problem that vanced would crash, i fix it by download the old version of vanced in apkure, then open it, then close it, then update via vanced manager, after that no crash anymore.
Same for me. I have to go to add user let the page load then it works
I also have same problem, I have to reinstall MicroG at least once a day to keep my account running on YT Vanced.
Have tried removing power optimisation etc and doesnt help - I read that the Chinese roms often close down / prevent apps from running long term in the background, so my assumption is that somehow MicroG is being force closed.
Was hoping a global rom might fix it but would be interested to see if there is any other fix
New Issue Found: I can't watch 2k or higher quality video on P11/Xiaoxin Pad with Newpipe or Vanced.
Even though I have all quality override settings enabled.

Videos becoming corrupted on sd card??!!!

I posted about this before but found the screenshot I took when I changed my storage for videos to my SD card. There were only videos/photos on one day that became corrupted literally in front of my eyes. My question... where can I find the locations mentioned in this screenshot? It's like only part of the data was saved on the SD card... all Metadata missing and videos show all binary zeroes... yet the size is still reflected on the file....

Usually it is /storage/.../DCIM/... on either location, isn't it?
Does "details" of the video/picture (within gallery) tell you anything useful?

I'll try anything! Thank you! I tried several programs to restore based on data from other videos recorded and nothing worked so far.

No luck!
Forget it, it's lost for good. SD Cards are crap. Always. Not to mention inadequate filesystems.
Simply don't rely on them but for the future: Make sure to have a proper backup, for example:

Reboot device - Viola Announcement Off
{Mod edit: Self-promotional YT link removed with reference to last bullet of forum rule no. 5 - Oswald Boelcke}
Recording button prompt failed ,it is not work!!!
Yeah recording failing here too. Dialer is version 105.0.533540070 now.
I didn't use the files provided by the OP, but just took it upon myself to copy the 2 WAV's to /sdcard/Downloads for example then adb pull'd them to my computer, used Audacity to fill them with silence, then put them back in the callrecordingprompt dir.
As soon as a call recording is started, the Dialer somehow replaces the WAV with it's original version and the announcement is heard loud and clear. I tried removing read permission on the WAV file, but then call recording fails. Likewise I tried removing write permission and the recording fails too.
The two WAV files are getting pulled/created from somewhere it seems, so maybe if we can track down that location we could modify the source data... anyone know how to figure that out?
Not that I care about laws regarding recording our own calls, but in my jurisdiction, such an announcement is NOT legally required, stop interfering with our own laws Google! Might as well try and ask Google Support Forum directly...
