Hi all
I've activated the "display always on" feature, when the device goes in standby the selected AoD style appears but after few seconds the screen goes black.
If I move it, the AoD is showed, for few seconds.
Is it a bug? a solution?
Tnx a lot.

I could swear in WM5 and the leaked WM6, that I was able to have the Treo go into "standby" mode after a few seconds. I've searched on this phone and can not find the setting. Under Settings/Today/Items there is a "today timeout", which increments by hours. What does this do when/when not set? Under Settings/Power/Advanced there is "On battery power", which increments by minutes. This seems like the correct setting, but after about 1 minute the backlight goes off, but does not "turn off". Then there is the setting for Backlight, which I have set for 30 seconds. WOW! There is just too much goin on here, and I can't remember how to get this thing in standby after just a few seconds of idle.

check the brightness and power settings
Backlight is set to turn off after 10 seconds, which the screen actually dims. Then after another bit of time the screen dims even more, but I can still see the Home Screen. Power is set to "Turn off device if not used for" 1 minute, but the device doesn't seem to "turn off" at all What does the "Today Timeout" do? I have it unchecked but only has choices for hour increments.
"Today Timeout" is for the calendar (how far in advance should the calendar display appointments).
The power and backlight settings are the right controls for what you are trying to accomplish. Have you configured and enabled both battery and external power settings?
Maybe its normal but I have smart stay on so if i am looking at the screen it dims but doesn't turn off. This happens even with auto brightness, power saving and auto adjust screen tone turned off. the browser also has auto brightness turned off. the only thing i can think is maybe there is a conflict with quick settings which also has auto brightness turned off. if i am not looking nat eh screen it dims and in a few seconds shuts off.
what mine does...
Same here. I even start blinking and moving my eyes to see if it will stay on. I know I've got to look like an idiot.
Currently not being productive on my S3.
I have been playing with smart stay as well, but I haven't seen that it keeps the screen on any longer ... maybe I just haven't had enough patience.
smart stay does keep my screen on but it does not prevent the screen from dimming. I think the phone automatically dims right before its about to shut off even if i have all dimming settings turned off. right before it shuts off smart stay keeps it on but only after the screen dims thus i am stuck with a dim screen.
I don't know what it is but my Z3 is getting dimmed a little bit after I swipe to unlock. When I press the power button, the screen turns on with a bright wallpaper, after I swipe to unlock, the screen dims like 5% brightness immediately, but in some cases several seconds later. Because the lock screen is the same as my wallpaper, this issue is very obvious. I have turned off auto brightness.
This is not so bothersome to me but it's strange? Any ideas?

Doesn't do that on mine. Do you have any power saving features on ?
Aside from auto brightness I can't guess what would do this.
Anyone experiencing this bug in the android P preview?
Double tapping to wake up device works 1 out of 3 tries, especially if you double tap wakeup, turn off the screen, try to double tap again, sometimes it will fail and you would get stuck with having to manually press the button.
My theory is pixel 2 is taking some time to actually realise the screen has been turned off, because what I observed was also that the "clock display on turned off screen" sometimes happen to take 2-3 seconds to appear, as if it's processing whether the screen is still on or off.
Please I make a request if you do not have your phone on android P don't bother replying thanks.
enable ambient display>>>>>>>>
enable double tap on, enable lift device on.
luck
I have a Samsung A20e android phone, and I was looking at some tips on Youtube and they were showing how you can turn on a screensaver by going into Settings/Display/Screensaver but when I go to Screensaver there is no toggle switch to turn it on/off, I can click on it and it takes me to the next screen where I can select none/colours/photos etc, and I can select say colours but then nothing happens to the phone when I put it on charge its supposed to have a coloured screen but nothing happens to it, how to I get the toggle switch there to turn it on please

In settings - display - screensaver you have a kind of radio buttons to select the different screensaver options. That is the "toggle" to enable screensaver.
If you select colours, connect the phone to the charger while screen is unlocked. Then leave it charging till the screen gets locked. Then the colours screensaver will show up. That's how it works on my phone.
