It may note release on September 3rd. Here's why. Both Telus and Rogers first listed Android Q for September 3rd release (probably based on the rumor), but both have removed that now.

I am assuming it will, unless they drastically change something... For all beta releases it has been the same rooting method...

As long as Google doesn't pull a fast one and break @topjohnwu 's updates to support 10, then yes, it will work.
Crossing my fingers!!!

I know. Was just trying to get it going so when someone does get it they can let the rest know in case we're busy and miss it.

No information yet. For now, September 2019 Q910UM20t Android Pie 9.0 is now up.
Anyways, you can go to this page so you can monitor upcoming updates:
https://forums.fido.ca/t5/custom/page/page-id/forumpage.osupgradesen
I almost had the September SMR but my battery was too low. After charging I couldn't get it again.
However... Now the fido update schedule says September 18 for the SMR plus additional updates.
Are we getting 10?
Yes we will get 10, and maybe 11 next year if we're lucky. They guarantee two years of major updates, but the release of this phone (October) is near the release date of Android, so it could go either way for 11.
Last year we got Pie around the third week of November, so it may be the same this year.
I know we're getting 10 eventually. I meant are we getting it on the 18th? Or does anyone know what these additional updates are?
2 days and I'll know.
LG customer rep said by December 2019. Not sure if customer reps can be trusted but the last time I asked they had no date
I just asked a few minutes ago and they have now set a date of December 30, 2019 for the update.
They recently told me Q1 2020 so not sure what to believe. Hoping for Dec
I was also told today November 20th, that it will be released at the end of December 2019. At least for the Canadian variant.
Fido update schedule lists Android 10 as "coming soon"
Hopefully this means it will come with Dec security update which is also coming soon for pixel devices. Either way it's nice to know it's close.

Whoa, you're faster than me to announce lol. Make sure to capture the OTA Link. So just in case we can unlock our bootloader in the future, we can revert our custom back to stock.

Update is now up!
Just received the September security patch for Moto x4 XT 1900-1 retail version.
Thought I might share the news with the good fellas here.
same here on my XT1900-7, it is just strange that it was automatically installed, without my confirmation
Thought it's October now... Isn't that a month late???

Yeah, you are absolutely right! But unfortunately, that's Motorola's way of delivering update. And I'm not even hopeful to get an Android 10 update.

Late is better than never, which is the case for the vast majority of phones many of which are newer than the X4.
Does anyone know if the FI/AndroidOne version for sept. has be released? Can't find in my usual locations.
Noticed on the Lolinet site that the RETUS releases has "PPWS29.69-40-3-1" uploaded on 10/3. Seems like a newer build just going by the naming scheme?
Just got another OTA, for October 1

I got the update today as well, which came as a surprise. I was wondering the same thing regarding some urgent fix.
Maybe they are trying to appease the masses over not getting Android 10 by providing faster security updates. I feel like they wiggled out of providing the upgrade. Technically speaking from a calendar standpoint, the Android 10 release was within the 2 year OS upgrade path when looking at the release date of the phone. Rant over. Time to look towards custom ROMs.
i just got november, PPWS29.69-36-2. support.motorola.com/us/en/solution/MS145560
The February 2021 update brought about a clear overall improvement to the system for me.
A factory reset is highly recommended, if it hasn't been done recently.
give some feedback in some days, normally after the update everything works better until 3 days after
[QUOTE = "Kaimilo, post: 84458653, membro: 7186396"]
It's been a week since the February update and I see better overall fluidity and longer battery life. I had already done the factory reset for about a month.

multitasking has stabilized ????
Multitasking is not ok imo. I only noticed minor improvements after I did a factory reset a month ago, no actual improvement from January and February patches.
I updated from 9 to the latest 10 update.
Have used it for a week now and it works great.
No issues at all with multitasking.

You'll always hear people say that it works fine but that's because updating forces their phone to restart.
Try it for yourself and you'll feel the need to restart to make the phone snappy.

Maybe so but it's not the first time that xiaomi lanches an update after the month is over.
Our device was launched in July 2018 so it could have updates until july 2021

Strange they android one program promises 3 years so we will have updates until July, anyway next phone will be for sure not a xiaomi
Same thing happened last year. We'll skip march update and jump straight to April by the end of April. Then until the EOL the updates will go normally. Just be patient, last year the April update actually brought a fix for the nasty LCD problem, so let's just be hopeful, and let's not forget May ruined the microphone, until august/september.

At this point I'm expecting nothing but 2 bugfixes... I couldn't care more about anything else to be honest. Just fix the ram management and I've discovered a new bug... accidentally. If you use an app that forces landscape mode, when the ram problem also kicks in, the auto-rotate stops working until the device is rebooted. Too bad this phone is literally a good phone hardware and build wise. Easy to service, unlike other modern brands... cursed by a crap OS support.
Time for a Custom Rom...
Just curious has anyone received security updates since upgrading? Here it is the middle of Dec no update yet.. I have Factory unlock, and usually have a update within the first week.
On my unlocked S22 Ultra, I went from the Android 13 One UI beta 5 to the stable release on October 25th and I received a security update on November 21st. My cellular provider is Google Fi.
I got the Nov security update on Nov 15, just checked and Dec is not available for me yet.
S22U, VZW, US.
Go t the Dec 1 update 3 days ago.
In my case I'm still on November 1st security update.....S22U carrier unlocked in Argentina. I understand that main software updates can depend on carrier agreements, but the security patch?? I fail to see why some of the S22u users would get a december patch and others no....
Still on July's update here.. lol

Ya I think it is a carrier agreement thing.. It should not have anything do with being carrier specific. Security is security. But if money talks, then that is probably how it goes.

That's real sad.
Got the December patch a couple of weeks ago. My daughter's unlocked S22 got it last week.
Android security patch level it's December 1st 2022, and that should be available for most of S22s running Android 13. However the Play System updates it's outdated for a number of users and shows 1st of July (especially for the ones that factory reset when going to Android 13).

As of now there are only theories that it's Google's servers that are not providing us with updates.
Others think that Samsung is to blame.
There is no clear route for manual update, the "solution" on the internet with the module components apk seems to be only a cosmetic fix (doesn't actually install the updates).

There are multiple theories, some Android 13/OneUI 5 related, but this has been an on and off problem prior to Android 13 being released. I've found articles and forums that go back to 2020 and earlier.

Hi, there is another thread for the Google Play System update. In my case now I'm on November 1st both in Google Play System and in security patch. But the two were misaligned before, so I understand that they are separate processes. So, as for Security, are you also in November patch?
