February 2021 update - Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite Guides, News, & Discussion

The February 2021 update brought about a clear overall improvement to the system for me.
A factory reset is highly recommended, if it hasn't been done recently.

give some feedback in some days, normally after the update everything works better until 3 days after

It's been a week since the February update and I see better overall fluidity and longer battery life. I had already done the factory reset for about a month.

multitasking has stabilized ????

Multitasking is not ok imo. I only noticed minor improvements after I did a factory reset a month ago, no actual improvement from January and February patches.

I updated from 9 to the latest 10 update.
Have used it for a week now and it works great.
No issues at all with multitasking.

You'll always hear people say that it works fine but that's because updating forces their phone to restart.
Try it for yourself and you'll feel the need to restart to make the phone snappy.

Yes

It seems like there will be no more updates for us

Maybe so but it's not the first time that xiaomi lanches an update after the month is over.
Our device was launched in July 2018 so it could have updates until july 2021

Strange they android one program promises 3 years so we will have updates until July, anyway next phone will be for sure not a xiaomi

Same thing happened last year. We'll skip march update and jump straight to April by the end of April. Then until the EOL the updates will go normally. Just be patient, last year the April update actually brought a fix for the nasty LCD problem, so let's just be hopeful, and let's not forget May ruined the microphone, until august/september.

At this point I'm expecting nothing but 2 bugfixes... I couldn't care more about anything else to be honest. Just fix the ram management and I've discovered a new bug... accidentally. If you use an app that forces landscape mode, when the ram problem also kicks in, the auto-rotate stops working until the device is rebooted. Too bad this phone is literally a good phone hardware and build wise. Easy to service, unlike other modern brands... cursed by a crap OS support.

Time for a Custom Rom...

[News] LG V20 H990DS - Update V20b-Mar-28-2019 available!

I don`t know, if this version has been discussed. After month of silence I finally got the first update after the big oreo-upgrade last year.
The Update is 753,08mb big and it`s downloading now. My security patchlevel is 1. sept 2018 for now. Hopefully I`ll be on 1. may 2019 after the update.
Yeah was just about to make a thread also, mines crawling at 1% every 5 minutes or so...finnaly the security patch is here...33% took almost 2 hours so far, LG just love to disappoint.
Yeah I awoke to find this downloading today. Confused me because I thought LG had officially dropped support for V20 software updates. Not sure I'm going to let it install until I've heard some reports from other users. I only need this phone to last a bit longer (probably going to get an Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro when they become available) and really don't want to risk any problems with this handset before I upgrade.
Update: I installed it and it seems fine. I did have Poweramp crash on me since, but that's not an unusual occurrence for me anyway.
I'll be looking out for the KDZ to drop then will make a flashable zip. Whoop!
As promised:

April 1st security patch it is....great..enjoy all seems all good atm.
Whatsapp still unable to disable group message notification. So Sad, no improvement in this area

XT1900-1 september security patch

Just received the September security patch for Moto x4 XT 1900-1 retail version.
Thought I might share the news with the good fellas here.
same here on my XT1900-7, it is just strange that it was automatically installed, without my confirmation
Thought it's October now... Isn't that a month late???

Yeah, you are absolutely right! But unfortunately, that's Motorola's way of delivering update. And I'm not even hopeful to get an Android 10 update.

Late is better than never, which is the case for the vast majority of phones many of which are newer than the X4.
Does anyone know if the FI/AndroidOne version for sept. has be released? Can't find in my usual locations.
Noticed on the Lolinet site that the RETUS releases has "PPWS29.69-40-3-1" uploaded on 10/3. Seems like a newer build just going by the naming scheme?
Just got another OTA, for October 1

I got the update today as well, which came as a surprise. I was wondering the same thing regarding some urgent fix.
Maybe they are trying to appease the masses over not getting Android 10 by providing faster security updates. I feel like they wiggled out of providing the upgrade. Technically speaking from a calendar standpoint, the Android 10 release was within the 2 year OS upgrade path when looking at the release date of the phone. Rant over. Time to look towards custom ROMs.
i just got november, PPWS29.69-36-2. support.motorola.com/us/en/solution/MS145560

A2 Lite official Android 10 update release date?

I've seen a thread in the Mi Community stating that Mi A3, A2, and A2 Lite will all get the Android 10 update next month (January 2020).
Here is the link:
https://c.mi.com/thread-2725788-1-0.html
The same inquiry had been made about 1,5 months ago and we've been told that we'd get the 10 with December, but here we are mate. I wouldn't trust the Xiaomi support.
I'd expect the update next month too (buggy, but still) so let's wait a few more weeks and see!

My point here is that it seems like the person who posted it in the Mi Community is having a conversation with a human, instead of an automated reply. Hmmm....

...and usually, they (Xiaomeme reps) never have idea when either, so I won't take a bite on their canned replies. See October update thread too.
Another point is that if they keep saying it'll come next month, at some point they'll be right

No. Like the others are saying. The support team gave been saying "soon" and "next month" since October. I think it could come next month because I think February so quite late for an Android one phone

I honestly expected the update to arrive before the end of the year but maybe mid-range devices are supposed to lag in many aspects. Still, Android One's major updates isn't as fast as I thought ?

Reminds me of Mi A2 update bricks last year.
Hopefully that fuched up updates will never happen again in Android 10.
I have Mi A2 with Unlocked Bootloader but no root(enabled Gcam). Will there be any problem with Android 10 update?

It might be, it won't be. It's up to Xiaomeme. Better to just wait for the others' opinions and comments for the Android 10 update before you will. Even with unlocked bootloader, it still might be unsafe, because Xiaomeme.
Back in January 2019 and March 2019, a lot of Mi A2 users bricked their phones because of the unintentionally bricking updates. And usually, fixing with that problem was rather slim to none, except for warranty and returns. Especially for locked bootloader users.
In this case with Mi A2 Lite, downgrading (Pie to Oreo) do have obstacles with RILs (switched SIMs and some losing 4G connection after downgrade) if users wish to downgrade and want previous Android version, and maybe so with 10 to Pie (or worse). But time will tell what will be.

No one knows. It might or might not. Gonna wait
We will know in two weeks max! So let's wait! As you already know any intel about this is not trustworthy! So let's wait!
I'd expect it to arrive in January. But the most important thing is to arrive with no bugs not just early!

Clocks ticking: March is about to end

Recently Xiaomi promised this to us;
"Xiaomi is aware of the Android 10 update issues in Mi A2 Lite and the launch to users of that device has now been suspended. Our teams are now working to solve the problem and our goal is to implement an update via OTA throughout March. Affected users are recommended to take their devices to authorized Xiaomi service centers for post-sale assistance."
Source
Xiaomi’s Android One smartphone: Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite, even after 210 days still waiting for the new Android OS update.
Its been 6 months 27 days since first Android 10 release.
Also Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite didnt get any security update about 74 days.
Any bets?
Xiaomi must release at least security patch, because as per google rules, the security patch on phone must not be older than 90 days on beginning of each month. Also, there are reports that the new Android 10 with march security is already seeding to small amount of users.
Who got it?
We need the download source!
I think the update will not coming on time, 1 day left.
I don't expect to much for now.

That one got deleted by Xiaomeme due to bugs that lead to destroy phone (temporarily). One of them did go directly to local technician because it can't turn on phone anymore due to that update.

Everyday updates for 11

Hi.
Since I updated my Sargo to Android 11, it has minimal updates almost everyday.
I´m not sure if this is fine or something is going wrong.
Anyone having the same issue?

Android 11 came out almost a year ago. Since then, there are several monthly patches, which you are now probably installing one at a time.
Once you reach June 2021 patch, they will stop coming until July.
