Guide to enable Google services on China variant AL00

Hi everyone,
I've been seeing many people having issues with installing Google framework on the AL00 variant.
The fact is that Google framework is already baked in and it is just a simple update to enable it.
1. Open app gallery and change country to China
2. Search for Google play store and click update
3. After update, click on open
4. The usual setup will appear
5. Done.
After the above steps, the majority of Google services and sync, etc should all be working.
* Update - OK Google does not work out of the box.
Have a good time with your new baby ?
Cheers!
Vincent

I should say Google framework instead of services. I need to test out Google assistant as I don't use it but "OK Google" might not work at all due to Hivoice.
I'll update this thread to reflect more facts.
I just used the browser to look up "Google play store" and it gave me an option to download/update it, I've never opened the app gallery and everything works fine ??
I do the same? thanks

Hi Vincent,
Thanks for the suggestion above. I have legit fried my tiny brain on all aspects of getting google play to activate/update install what have you.
My location in the App Store ALREADY says China - and I am still unable to open or update the Google Play Store.
Any other suggestions? I am also unable to create a Huawei ID for the phone, it keeps saying "Restricted" and won't let me. Any work-arounds for this?

dont you think that google might block them from connecting to their servers etc so it might not be that possible after all
That's what I read, this phone will now able to connect to google calendar or google drive which rely on google service.
Of course, Huawei has Chinese apps alternative as what China people using in China.
mate 30 pro will have android 10 though

I was planing to do the same since its quite easy to install both gplay services and gplay store , but the problem is the phone is not going to get any future android updates. whats going to happen when android 11 comes out.
Andoid is open source so i guess we will get updates, i am going to wait on Huawei to clarify a bit first
Android Open Source Project, AOSP is free to use for anybody. Huawei pay Google about 5$ per device and preinstall Google Apps and Services.
You will get a Huawei Mate 30 with Android 10, EMUI but without Google Play, Gmail, Youtube, etc.
It is Android, so you can install it and use it, like any other Android device. On Xiaomi Mi Store (chinese version) there is a Google Installer.
I understand Google Mobile Services is easy but how about Google Pay and over-riding thaty SafetyNet thing?
I remember there was this work around using MAGISK?? But do u have to root in order for it to work?
confirm can install

Mate 30 fingerprint is safety net compliant
Its fairly easy to install gapps on it
Most of New released models where already pre certified, as this happened before the ban..
Wanda Mobile, a reputable UK retailer, is now selling this phone "with Google Play Store installed".

It will work like any other Android phone except it does not have the licensed Google Mobile Service (GMS) built-in; there is an app that one can download to install the google framework that will install Google assistance which will allow Google Play Store to be installed in the phone. Because the phone does not have GMS so many apps in Google Play Store will not work. One will have to get from alternative source like APKmirror
Ok Guys. I have a M30 and it has not been easy to install GMS on it. As you know LZPlay app is dead. And installing framework, services and play Store is not working. I get force close after the install.
Any thoughts on this? (bootloader locked and unrooted)

Hey, Boas Super Dragão!
Unfortunately it´s not been easy to install gapps since the LZPLay backdoor wich was using undocumentede APIS has been closed. I have a Mate 30 Pro with Bootloader unlocked and no root. I tried a bunch of suspicious GMS installers, and tried to intsall the services and framework manually with all the available permissions and the result is always the same. App force closes. Alguma ideia? Abraço

Cloning of P30 Pro to P40 Pro and Google services

I actually have a P30 Pro, if I buy a P40 Pro and I clone all my settings to the new P40 pro, will I have the Google services?
No, You want! I did it p30 pro to P40 pro - everything was moved BUT ring tones (custome) google chrome and wallpaper
I'm sorry, but I'm not getting if it's possible or not.
Did you were able to have Google play store in the p40? Gmail? Youtube? Maps?

NO, I have NO Google services and Google play store

Huawei support told me the same, you can have couple apps, but not the whole package.
I'm afraid I will not buy the amazing p40 pro, I'm sad.
May be a Xiaomi Mi 10 pro?

My friend did it: installed Google Play Store/Services on P40 Pro. You can not clone from P30 Pro -> P40 Pro to get Google works
After cloning, will Google Pay work? That is, will the phone pass safetynet test?
I have install google gms on my p40 pro, then used phone-clone from my p30 pro. All apps except g-pay works. Maps, contacts, calendar, drive, the lot. Even my banking app and bankid on mobile.
Just not g-pay but I can live without that one ??
When I try to add a card g-pay states that I have root access or that the phone has been otherwise altered ?

Can i ask which banking apps are working for you? I am getting mine tomorrow and trying to decide if its better installing gsm first, then clone. Or the other way around
It is Norwegian bank apps.
I have tried both approach, gms then phone-clone and vice versa.
My experience is that gms on a "empty" phone works best.
Obviously, the phone fails Android SafetyNet Test. You can search in Play Store and download an app to test yours out.
update
Confirm! Updated to .114 yesterday, all Google stuff work as it did.
personally me google play music doesn't work
So, does the phone pass Android SafetyNet Test now? Can check please?
I don't know about safetynet stuff, but my Gpay is working fine.
Did 2 purchases to date, both worked on first try.

Unrooting after installing Google services

Hi everyone!
I installed the Google services on my p40pro, here come the question: many apps (like Google Pay) can't be run because the phone is identified like rooted/modded. Is there any chance to fix this? Lz Play is meant to enable a kind of rooting mode?
Thank you
Max

It's not root, It's actually the lack of safetynet.
Removing LzPlay Doesn't help.
Why did you need to install GMS?..
