Hello!
I have a very strange problem with my Nexus S 9023.
At some moment phone have lost cell network totally. Rebooting device did not help. I tried to reinstall ROM and to change it (same with KRENEL and RADIO).
Sim is ok. No sim works on my phone.
Specs:
Rom - 2.3.4. SuperAOSP ST 8.6
Kernel - Matrix cfs v 6.5
Radio - D1
UPD:
-netmonitor app does not find any signal
-system says "radio version unknown"
-phone was not damaged
-*#*#4634#*#* shows "disconnest GSM: State: DCInActiveState Disconnected with last try at 2:29 fail because No Error". Preferred network type in this window can not be changes from "unknown"
-IMEI is "-"
If anyone have some ideas please help me
Have you flashed a new radio recently? If you have you need to restore the EFS folder using root explorer and reboot. It sounds like you have corrupted the EFS folder somehow if your imei number is not showing.
I found this folder. How should I restore it?

I checked EFS folder with File Expert. And in IMEI folder I have found no files. What should I do now?

I'm sorry, but I can't believe that second Nexus device is so easy to break/brick! On Passion things were much simpler/harder to break...
Just sharing my thoughts. This stuff with /efs is just unbelievable... What were they thinking?? Befeore Crespo I didn't even know that IMEI can be wiped off of device
Sorry for all of you guys having hard time with this flaw
WOW!
my colleague from service center reports that they have repaired my phone. But it took one week. And samsung techniсians could not propose any solution immediately. They needed some tine to think.
So now i think how to do a full dackup of my phone before next try to receive root and flash it with AOSP

Great! Where do you live? I have problem with my IMEI, but for now, my Nexus is working fine.
One more question? You didn't have any IMEI number??
I live in Moscow.
Right now my IMEI is 004999010640000 and also some IMEI SV 01
I just flashed to stock firmware, because my cell phone wasn't updating to KitKat because of root.
But after flashing, my IMEI is now set to 0.
I just searched on the internet and many websites says that the EFS directory is where your IMEI number is stored.
But is missing, I tried to reflash and nothing hapenned. I didn't make backup.
I unlocked the bootloader, so I think I lost the warranty, and Motorola won't repair my cell phone.
Bought my cell phone from Brazil dual chip version.
Is there any solution? Anybody help me?
There is not efs directory on motorola.
Efs is a Samsung thing.

Thanks for letting me know, do you know one method to try to restore my original IMEI?
I tried many methods and got no results.
All I've read about this is people flashing the wrong radios. That's all I can say about it.
Sent from my Moto X cellular telephone...
Yes, I think I did something I shoudn't when flashing.
I think I just lost my Moto G.
But first, I will send to Motorola and I hope they accept to fix it.
Otherwise I'll have to buy a new one.
I guess you'll have to flash your Moto G all over from the bootloader ... check this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2623587

Didn't work,
Doesn't update when I try to manually install the Riffbox driver.
Good news.
I sent my Moto G to Motorola and according to their website, the service order, seems that they will repair it.
Bootloader was unlocked, and according to the website, it voids warranty.
Repair situation: Being repaired
Estimated repair date: 08 March 2014
I'm from Brazil, I don't know if other countries would repair it too.

Common u can just rewrite ur IMEI to the phone if u know it or assign a random 15 digits number. Its easy. I've done it three times today on 2 diff devices.

I tried it, but don't know if is the same method as you said.
For some devices are easier to change IMEI number.
Bought a new S6 from Ebay that had been opened up to all networks. Discovered it was rooted which I didn't want so I flashed it with a stock Vodafone ROM. The phone worked fine for about 10 days then all of a sudden I got the message 'not registered on network' when I try to make call. It turns out that the IMEI number has changed. Does anyone know whether this type of problem can be sorted out?
Flash back to stock via odin.

IMEI Corrupted
I'm going to use a Vodafone ROM as this phone was originally on Vodafone before the seller had it opened up to all networks. THE ROM is G920FXXU1AOCZ_G920FVFG1AOC4_G920FXXU1AOCW_HOME.tar.md5. Does this sound like the right one? Sorry for all the questions - I'm new to this. The other thing worth mentioning is the IMEI at the moment is 350000000000006. Where could this have come from? Any ideas? It's weird because the original IMEI was in tact for about 10 days before it changed to the one above. Any help at all would be appreciated

Corrupt imei is known issue when flashing and rooted. That's why firdt thing you do when rooting, is you backup your stock rom together with efs folder. Idk which is your stock rom, you have to do some research, download that rom and use odin to go back to stock. You will lose everything you got on the phone btw so save any pictures or music.

Thanks for that. The problem I have is that there's no backup of the EFS folder or the stock ROM. Without these, is there any way of sorting this out or is the phone dead? Cheers
hi
i have same problem did you fix that if yes please help me
Bring S6 back to Samsung for repair
My guess is the phone you bought was stolen and after 10 days it got blacklisted.
Or the seller claimed he lost his phone to insurance company, sold it you, got a new one on insurance, and then after the 10 days the "lost" phone (your phone) got blacklisted.

I have the exact same problem, bro. All of the sudden my IMEI changed to 350000000000006 and I'm not able to register on my network. Did you manage to fix this? Please, let me know.
The same story, any help?
How I can fix this? Please help
Get Chimera tool and you should be able to fix it no problem
Did you manage to fix?
My baseband shows as attached after installing vador rom so I'm confused
If you didn't formatted/wipe the efs/nvbackup, there's a chance you can retrieve your imei.
But if it doesn't, the only way is to bring it up to Samsung or a good phone technicians to repair or get you a new branded IMEI for your phone. Mine was fixed by a technician using Octopus box tool.
You may try my method, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63693480&postcount=28
Guy's can u try other firmware for ur country for example if u are from France then try the fw for France ok

Already look diferent videos and post on internet but nothing is making work.... Any sugestions????
Hi All,
I have a P40 Pro which i upgraded to 10.1.0.155 firmware.
after the instalation the phone keeps rebooting after every 20seconds.
I tried:
* reset
*hard reset
*downgrade or upgrade with HiSuite but the phone keeps rebooting so unable to do nothing
*using memory card /OTG no matter if i user firmware.114 or .154 it says that the firmware is not for this device, but it is
*using safe mode keeps rebooting
*using eRecovery i get message that no firmware found
I updated the apps.
I tried to disable and uninstall what is not required.
But everytime after 20 seconds the phone keeps rebooting.
Does anyone knows any fix?
Or from where to download firmware 10.1.0.155 or higher to try?
most likely, if you updated via hisuite.proxy or did a rollback, you installed the wrong firmware. i had the same problem. none of the methods helped me to fix the problem. only the replacement of the motherboard in the service center helped.

I've used the collection service but sadly, the phone was sent back as the fault is caused by "unauthorised repairs or modification of the software".

Can I ask you what did you say when you give the phone to them? Did u say you used third party software? Did u say u tried to install new version or try to downgrade new version?
I'm in the position as you. I'm sending an email to my retailer. I will give you more updates.
Hi mate
This service doesn't involve speaking to anyone. Huawei will organise DHL to collect and return. That's it.
Nobody will call or speak to you. They sent me a form back saying that the phone won't be repaired under warranty because of "unauthorised repair or modification of software"
Nothing else.
that's not good.
I'm from Costa Rica and got the phone from Movistar Telefonica.
They accepted my phone to be checked and the Repair Center replaced the mainboard to fix the issue. I did not tell them what I did, but finally, I got my phone repaired and with the bonus of EMUI 10.1.0 (10.1.0.109) so I can now install Googlefier.
Mine went to insurance however I'm under the impression that was bad luck as most of the other people contacting CS had their mobile repaired under warranty. This is what it's...
Hi everyone!
I have a Note 20 Ultra (N985F) Exynos variant.
My mom bought it for me without knowing it is a live demo unit. When she bought the phone it was working (network and data) but it was on Android 10. I started getting suspicions when i tried to update and it said "failed to register". I wanted to check the imei codes on the back and there's when i found out it is a LDU. I flashed Dr.Ketan's Android 11 ROM and i lost all network functions and when i try to search for network it says "Error while searching for network" so i flashed a stock Android 11 firmware from SamMobile but the issue still persists. I think i f****d up the EFS, don't know yet. I didn't have the mobile data toggle in the quick settings panel but after deleting the files in the EFS folder it got back. I have a little clue of what's happening here but i don't know how to solve it. When dialing *#0011# the imei status is "NG". Don't know if Chimera tool or Z3X will solve it by payching imei certificate (i don't have a license for those programs so that's why i'm asking before buying one). Will flashing pit file solve my problem? Will flashing a combination rom fix the issue? If not, how can i solve it? (P.S: wifi calling works, but i don't have any other type of cellular network)
Mate, the Nore 20 ultra is model number SM-N986B. The fact yours is 965 is the reason you aren't getting updates...
Unfortunately, short of unlocking bootloader (and even that is not assured), you can't just flash to a normal stock rom.
Never mind, i got it fixed by @hainguyenthao. I was skeptical at first but he really helped me. Kudos to you mate!
I have a network issue G780F please @hainguyenthao
