Unable to flash recovery on Moto E3. - General Questions and Answers

I want to install a custom rom on my Moto E3 power device. So here's what I have done till now
I have unlocked the bootloader.
Now I press the power button +vol up key to enter into boot options.
Then I go to fastboot mode and try flashing the twrp recovery using the following command
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Click to collapse
fastboot reboot recovery .... just hangs the bootloader
Click to collapse
This however doesn't flash the existing out-of-the-box useless recovery.
So I tried again with
fastboot boot twrp.img
and
fastboot --c "lge.kcal=0|0|0|x" boot twrp.img
Click to collapse
These just restart the phone without booting into recovery mode.
Anyway I can get the twrp recovery working on Moto E3 power?

i m not able to flash twrp

I have successfully unlocked my Honor 6x. And when i flashed tero using fastboot flash recovery 1p.img (I renamed twrp to this one)
Then it went successful
After that I typed
Fastboot boot 1p.img
But it failed saying remote command not allowed
Then i tried booting recovery by pressing buttons
But it was booting default Huawei recovery
I have flashed multiple times using fastboot it went successful but in actually it don't flashed
Emui 5.0 Android nougat
Twrp 3.1
It said remote command not allowed too to me time ago when i flashed TWRP. Try this: after that you just flashed the recovery, don't do "fastboot boot recovery.img", but normally reboot your phone and try to use the 2 buttons combination (vol up+power) and keep it held until you hear a little vibration, then release it and check if you boot regularly to TWRP or not. Sometimes, if you don't reboot immediately to TWRP after the flash, the previous recovery will overwrite the one you just flashed. Are you using OpenKirin's TWRP right?

Like TWRP, so through adb.
"fastboot flash recovery [stockrecoveryname].img"
Look for the correct stock recovery for your phone model

TWRP install dont work

Hi guys.
I unlocked my bootloader, and installed the Global Beta Rom via TWRP.
Now, that I am finishing that, TWRP is not installed anymore. And I can't install it.
When I boot into fastboot, and install TWRP like usual, everything is ok. No error appears. But when I want to boot into TWRP via key-combination, nothing happens. When I boot MiUi again, then reboot and try to boot into TWRP again, the Mi-Recoverymenue appears. But not TWRP. Can anyone help here?
After ROM package installed, boot and setup everythings you need, reboot to fastboot mode.
You must install TWRP again, then boot to TWRP by using command, same as the first time you install TWRP. Full commands:
1. fastboot devices.
2. fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
3. fastboot boot twrp.img

Done that.
Device reboot, screen turns black. Then device reboot again, and MIUI will start.
After you install TWRP via fastboot command boot into TWRP via fastboot using the TWRP image on your computer. After TWRP comes up disconnect your phone from your computer, go into the TWRP reboot menu and select reboot into recovery. After you boot back into TWRP it should stick until you flash another ROM zip.
Same issue here.....please have a look at attached picture to see what I have done.
Even after a couple of minutes the screen remains black after trying to boot into TWRP.img with "fastboot boot twrp.img"
Is this a wrong command?
OK with rebooting the system is replacing TWRP, mens I need to go directly into TWRP without rebooting OS., but neither the command above nor ´"fastboot reboot" and simultaniously holding Vol+ and Power ware entering TWRP .....even more
Entering "fastboot reboot" afterwards, device is rebooting normally.
Would be great to explain how I can successfully get TWRP run.
Thx a lot!!
MIUI overwrites the recovery with each boot.
You'll have to get root access and adjust s few files (there is a guide somewhere here on xda) to get it to stay

Stuck at fastboot splash screen

Hi everyone, recently unrooted and re-locked my bootloader. Decided I enjoyed my OnePlus rooted better, so I've unlocked bootloader again and downloaded latest twrp.img and .zip.
Upon entering fastboot mode and using
"fastboot boot recovery.img"
it runs fine then hangs on the FASTBOOT MODE screen with OnePlus logo. Doesn't ever boot into twrp. I've tried on both slots A and B and multiple versions of twrp and they all hang on the FASTBOOT splash screen. Any ideas? I haven't bricked my phone all I'm looking to do is get into twrp.
Thanks in advance

You have to flash a patched boot.img that matches your OS from fastboot and install twrp installer from magisk as a module
Twrp 3.3.1-65 by mauronofrio works. I don't think official 3.3.1.4 twrp works.
And like GUGUITOMTG4 sad follow this guide :

The fastboot boot twrp command isn't working with Android 10. Should flash patched boot img as easiest method.

First, hold power+vol up buttons for 15 sec to get out of the fastboot frozen screen.
When it shuts down, hold power+volume up again for a few seconds. That should boot it into bootloader.
On the computer download the correct patched image for your OS version https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...isk-patched-boot-image-oneplus-7-pro-t3964345
Place it in the fastboot folder on the computer, connect the phone to computer while on bootloader and input the commnd: fastboot flash boot magisk_patched.img

After flashing a Custom Recovery, If you want to boot to recovery, the actual command through fastboot is
Code:
fastboot boot recovery
or also in the bootloader screen you can press vol+ button untill you see Recovery mode then hit Power button.
The most important point is After flashing a Custom Recovery you must flash the vbmeta with Verity command To make it permanent. Otherwise it'll just revert back to Stock Recovery. (This method only works in Color Os (ie., Android 9), for RealmeUI you need additional thing to do)

Where do we get this vbmeta from? I'm having the same problem, that after flashing twrp.img it just reboots back into fastboot mode. Is this because Secure Boot is enabled and does vbmeta disable that?

After flashing recovery via cmd, you will go back to fastboot on your screen. Navigate the volume buttons til it show Recovery mode on top of the screen. Then press power button and it will boot to recovery.

It turned out the problem was Orangefox. With TWRP it booted into Recovery fine when I selected that option but with Orangefox it would just reboot into fastboot. I'll try some different versions of Orangefox sometime but for now my biggest problem is that it's impossible to set a Lock Screen PIN/Password, let alone use FingerPrint. It seems unlocking the bootloader breaks the security settings.
whats orangefox ? did u found a fix !
I rooted 5i and no use your code. I follow this video
Some code:
adb devices
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flashing unlock
fastboot devices
fastboot flash recovery REALME5i.img
fastboot flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
adb reboot recovery

Question Cant seem to flash any recovery on poco x3 pro bhima

Hello,
I have unlocked my bootloader successfully.
When i try to flash recoveries:
TWRP-3.5.1-vayu-Nebrassy-1.img
PBRP-vayu-20210407-test-UNOFFICIAL.img
twrp-3.5.1_10-0-vayu-Nebrassy.img
OrangeFox-R11.0_5-Unofficial-vayu.img
The fastboot command is successfull, no errors whatsoever.
But when try to boot to recovery by vol up + power, i get to the fastboot screen only.
and fastboot boot recovery.img also does not boot to the recovery, rather just boots me to MIUI.
When i do a adb reboot recovery from within miui, i go to miui recovery.
So surely the recovery isint flashing.
Has anyone faced such issue?
Thanks.
Oh my goodness..
I was doing this on a windows m/c since the miflash is windows application.
I switched to linux, and flashing works.. i am on TWRP!
It will flash if you flash custom recovery. However, it will change the custom recovery back to Mi-recovery every time after booting, if your system is stock MIUI.
TWRP works better if you use
fastboot boot twrp.img

If you are flashing roms on bhima, don't use TWRP.
Use OrangeFox.
fastboot boot OrangeFox-R11.0_5-Unofficial-vayu.img
