Phone A (mine): G930FD, Superman Android 7
CSC: UK-BTU multi-csc
SIM: StraightTalk T-Mobile towers
APN: StraightTalk
Phone B (friends): G930V, Stock Android 7
CSC: Verizon multi-csc
APN: MetroPCS
My friend got phone B for her MetroPCS sim (which uses T-Mobile towers I think), it didn't work at all. I tested phone B with my StraightTalk T-Mobile sim, it worked, speed test: 42mbps.
Then I decided to try the speed test with my phone A in the same location (a few hours later) and my StraightTalk T-Mobile sim, 12mbps
There are so many varying factors. Which are the ones that matter? My G930F supports more bands and has my proper APN settings, I would think it would be equivalent if not better... I'm guessing it's primarily the BTU CSC? I'd tried T-Mobile CSC but that caused issues. And that other phone is a Verizon CSC anyway. Should I flash to Verizons CSC? Also I'm using Superman ROM.
Also, why wouldn't her MetroPCS sim work in phone B? It worked with mine and they both use T-Mobile towers...
The most important factor here is the phones are completely different SoC with different modems.
The G930FD is Exynos and the international model, the modem is built to the international standard of carrier networks.
The G930V is Snapdragon and the modem specifically designed to make use of the USA network standards which differ to the rest of the world.
So even with the required band support, it's different technology. Outside of the USA, I would expect the G930V to perform worse than the G930FD, and vice versa for inside the USA.
As for why the SIM doesn't work, the G930V is the verizon variant, which is default carrier locked. Since your SIM works it may have been carrier unlocked, but it might not be.
Hello everyone,
I bought a samsung s10e that I suspect is the AT&T version G970UZKAATT. This phone is supposed to come sim unlocked.
- Does that mean that when I insert a TMob sim card, will it reboot like the S9 and the TMobile logo will show up, then
the phone will work just like a regular TMob version G970UZKATMB?
- Will it have wifi-calling for TMob?
- Will it support all TMob LTE and HSPA frequencies e.g. band 71?
- Do all versions of the G970U support the same frequencies once unlocked just as these websites suggest?

Hardwares all the same. No, it wont boot with a Tmob logo. If you want it to act like a Tmob G970 flash the Tmob firmware.
I was just testing a S10e that has G970U1 as model (probably flashed) on the back says G970U.... I inserted an Ultra Mobile SIM card (TMob mvno) and it seems that the wifi calling works on the unlocked ROM .... So no need to flash TMob version, I believe.
Can anyone confirm wifi calling works on the factory unlocked version?
I have the g970u1 factory unlocked with u1 firmware. It has tmobile wifi calling. The only things missing are tmobile video calling and that rcs messaging I think. But, I flashed the tmobile u firmware a couple months back and the phone booted up like a tmobile branded one with the jingle and stuff. I didn't need those so I reflashed the u1

Thank you so much for confirming. I've just got my g970u1 factory unlocked and wifi calling with Ultra (TMob mvno) seems to work too. I tested using airplane mode enabling just wifi and I can still make calls
Anyone know if N20 Ultra will have dual SIM in States? I've searched but couldn't find anything solid on it.
ANy update fellas? Are they gonna release OTA to add eSIM functionality? I am regretting buying this 1300 bucks toy now.
I want to know this too, would pull the trigger right now but can't find it. Official site says there are single and dual sim models, but when you go to checkout doesn't say what you're getting!

Just chatted with support, FWIW, he said only the Global version has dual-sim, not the US version.

Well that's a bummer.. I guess it's going on swappa or offerup, still making money.
So the USA model won’t even be dual sim EG one physical sim and one e-sim? [emoji23]
Nope, yet Apple has had it for two years!
Dual sim= Sim+ eSim
Exynos
just like the s20 ultra it isnt clear at all. there does seem to exist a 'B' model and an 'F' model, some are dual sim, some are LTE only. its hard to find exactly the right one. In the Note 10 the 'F' model didnt have band 30. But on the LTE only s20 (no 5G) there is band 30. But on the 5G model there isnt band 30. Frustrating if you use AT&T
I think the dual sim model of the Note 20 ultra is sm-n986b. its not clear if its dual sim or sim plus e-sim.
The US models are historically NOT dual sim on nOte 10 and s20.
In Europe is dual sim = sim + sim or you can use sim + esim + SD card on ultra
If you look at the USA web site...

Thanks, do you have a link to that page? When I go to Note 20 Ultra specs on Samsung's site, it only shows carrier, color and memory.

Omg, i always have to buy the HK versions of Samsung devices because they Are Snapdragon+Dual Sim, but if (FINALLY) Samsung make USA model version Dual Sim too, that means (at least for me) pay less. Did you have the link? i want to check so i can make the pre-order

That link is for "global" version and it says ESIM support is dependent on country/carrier. Samsung has disabled ESIM specifically for US for some odd reason. They promised S20 will have ESIM with a software update but that did not happen as of yet, we can only hope their $1500 flagship N20 Ultra supports this but as of now there is no mention of it.

Don't hold your breath!
Has anyone used one of the international Dual-SIM unlocked models recently? I'm guessing they still don't have the ability to do VOLTE and Wifi Calling because they don't have the US CSCs available. I have the US unlocked Note 10+ and appreciate how smooth the carrier swap process is, but like everyone else I'd prefer to just leave a couple of SIMs in at the same time.

It depends on the carrier, but you will get WiFi calling and VoLTE on US Tmobile if using Exynos dual sim model. It lacks the important bands though like band 66, band 71 and some 5G bands
From what Ive seen and reading - no Dual Sim in North America ( same like S20 ) -which means Physical + Esim, having just Esim means phone w/o a physical sim and thats it, but not work in conjuction
Users experience for S20

It acts like the regular Snapdragon version will support Dual Sim???? I won't be able to test it out until Monday so curious if anyone else has tried.
I have an ATT SD variant that lists 2 IMEIs on the box, however, it appears the eSim functionality has been disabled. there's another thread on the eSim where this is being discussed as well.
Location: Japan
Carrier: au KDDI and/or Docomo
Phone: OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition (T-Mobile unlocked)
My phone that I bought through au KDDI broke and I wanted to get a new phone anyway, but I wanted to venture into the world of unlocked phones for the first time. I know there is complications with getting phones that are unlocked and compatible with carriers with regards to CDMA/GSM, frequency bands, etc. When I checked info on frequency bands for the OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren I bought it seemed like it would work but it didn't. Still doesn't work with a new carrier who seemed even more likely to work.
Timeline:
1. Using au KDDI
2. Buy this OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition (T-Mobile unlocked)
3. Put in au KDDI sim card. "Emergency Calls only/No service"
4. Manually make APN settings. Still doesn't work
5. More research looks like au KDDI is maybe CDMA, and that phone only works on GSM. Docomo is GSM and many reports of Docomo being usable with many unlocked phones.
6. Buy this prepaid sim card that apparently uses Docomo's network as a test, per advice of anonymous online user.
7. Put in prepaid sim card; works immediately without any APN shenanigans or anything.
8. Go to Docomo, sign a contract with them and get a sim card.
9. Put in new Docomo sim card, and doesn't work ("Emergency Calls only/no service") regardless of which APN settings I select or make.
I give all the links to the exact products and companies I'm using in case someone can find the compatibility issue. Is there something I can do or do I just give up and return this OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren? I'd like to maintain my contact with both companies and try different unlocked phones until I find a phone/carrier combination that works, but do you think any unlocked phone would work? Am I stuck using the phones they carry? Also why would the prepaid card on Docomo's network work but not their actual sim card?
I am using a sim unlocked T-Mobile A71 5g with a cricket sim. VoLTE does not work. If I flash the AT&T firmware onto this will it allow VoLTE to work? Will it relock the sim unlock? (I highly doubt that is the case, but want to cover my tail.) Will it allow me to use LTE band 66?
Thanks
HOw is Cricket not blocking your acccount? I bought one for my mom and its unlocked for ATT network and it works for like 5 mins and then says its not compatible. I masked imei with ed exposed and still cant get it too.

Hey if it's rooted you can use short cut master lite and open Cid manager and it will change your csc and network you can pick AIO which is Cricket .
I am not rooted. I heard that that google pay and Netflix quit working if you root a phone. Haven't tried rooting a phone in the last 3 or 4 years. Kinda out of the game.
I am having a similar issue. My phone is an unlocked T-mobile and on AT&T TOGO. I keep getting my outgoing calls redirected to AT&T cust srvc. They say my phone is not VoLTE capable and therefore will not work after 3G sunset. T-mobile support site says VoLTE is enabled by default, just that there are no settings to turn it on or off. Wondering whether it's safe to flash with AT&T ROM? Or maybe generic Samsung ROM if available?
Please I'm in Nigeria, i bought this A71 5G front a vendor at second hand. But my local sim card won't work on the phone.
How do i unlock sim?
