[Q] Possibility of ANT+ via USb OTG?

I currently have the Samsung Galaxy S2 which supports USB OTG, I'm trying to figure out a way to enable ANT+ for fitness apps. Their are several USB adapters such as the Suunto Movestick Mini. I was thinking I could hook up this usb stick and enable ANT+. Does anyone know if this is possible? I currently have ICS installed.
Has anyone done this on other USB OTG enabled phones?
anyone know of anything?
ANT+ via USB OTG
There was an officail anouncment about this from the ANT people the other day. With a siutable phone it should be now possible. I have made a release of my IpBike app today which in theory should work but I don't have a suitable device to test with so would be very interested in anyone getting it to work.
I would put some suitble linkes here but it looks like I can not. I have added some details to iforpowell.com

I've just upgraded my SGS2 to ICS and connected a Suunto Movestick Mini Ant+ adapter using an USB OTG cable in order to be able to use my fitness sensors (HR belt and speed/cadence sensors from Garmin) and it works like a charm thanks to the great softwares created by ifor.
But be careful because after rooting my phone the new kernel was unable to handle the ANT USB driver and therefor it stopped working. After a few attempts i found that using a Siyah kernel (currently v4.0.1) will restore the ability to use again my Ant adapter and sensors.

How can the tablet accessories (3G webstick, BT GPS and HDMI) work?

Hello,
I'm new in Android environment and I don't have a clear picture how I can be extended a tablet functionality.
Example:
I buy a tablet which has no 3G radio, GPS and HDMI port in default, but it has USB port and Bluetooth.
Can I use a 3G USB webstick for this tablet?
What is needed for it from hardware and software side?
My idea is that for this from software side I would need a driver which is built in the kernel.
If I have a table without this driver (for example a Samsung P5110) what are my possibilities? Can a Custom ROM like CyanogenMod solve this issue?
Similar questions for the other two things:
Can I use a BT GPS receiver for my tablet without anything or it has requirements(hardware or software)?
How can I use USB port to watch a movie on a HDMI device?
I found two things regarding USB port which (I think) are relevant:
OTG and MHL.
As I understand MHL is need for the HDMI functionality, but it is a hardware parameter of the USB port/controller or a software thing?
If it is a hardware thing: How can I decide that a tablet USB port has this capability or not?
Same question to the OTG.
Thanks for your help in advance.
Regards,
Ponr

Otg+ usb hub + ant+

Looking for some conclusive info on getting an ANT+ adapter to work via OTG via a usb hub ideally with a battery pack plugged in too. While I dont see any reason why this isn't possible, research has been spotty on the issue and then which app will work best, alot of the more popular exercise apps only seem to support ant+ on Ios.

Connect to Blaupunkt stereo via mirrorlink

I just bought this unit and it uses mirrorlink. When I connect the cable it asks my phone for USB debugging and I say yes. I am supposed to at this point be able to find mirrorlink in connections. It never shows up anywhere on the phone. Is this a Oneplus issue? I know the phone works with android auto as I have used it in other vehicles. Blaupunkt that I have only has mirrorlink as an option. Any help appreciated .

Question ANT+ support missing?!

Hello,
I just received my new S21+ and transferred all data and applications to it. All good, but when I tried to start ANT+ connectivity... to my dismalness, I noticed that support seems to be missing:
ANT Tester reports that built-in ANT was NOT detected, so it's missing built-in firmware or ANT HAL service (!!!) And yes, I do have installed ANT Radio service and ANT+ plugins.
Anyone else can see that? This is a complete deal braker for me, as I use my phone often to connect to cycling sensors.
Hola
You are not alone. Sammy removed Ant+ support on the S21 series. I am into home cycling as well and I am now forced to change a few of my monitors to Bluetooth. Luckily my Tacx smart trainer supports Bluetooth and Ant+, if that wasn't the case I too would have been mad.
It took me a while to find out about this as it is not clearly articulated online about this missing feature.
Damn, that's pretty disappointing. Yes, I have sensors with Bluetooth support, but it's finicky when I switch between PC (for Zwift) BT and my phone BT. It works better when I'm able to use PC BT and phone ANT+. Oh well.

Hi
I have an S20 FE and there's no ANT + here either.
From what I've read because there is no HAL service.
however the phone is listed on the ANT website as being compatible.
I've tweeted and messaged Samsung , Google and Android developers but had no reply.
Same as you I use my phone with Cycling apps so it's really annoying.
I was planning to add custom rom support for S21 devices and while looking into firmware, I found, all stuff related to ANT was removed.(I was looking s21 ultra firmware specifically) So probably it's been removed from s21 devices
You *should* be able to use your Ant+ devices *IF* you plug an OTG USB dongle into your phone, and then plug an Ant+ dongle in it.
I used to use my Poco F1 for my rides outdoor, with my Ant+ devices (powemeter, cadence, HR monitor) when it was under Android 8.x. Since I upgraded it to Android 9.x, then Android 10.x, Ant+ is not enabled anymore. The trick with OTG/Ant+, works.

New S20FE owner here.
One of the reasons (but not the only reason!) I picked the S20FE was most mobile phone spec websites (GSM arena etc..) list the S20FE as including ANT+!
Checking again the ANT certified list they ONLY mention certified:
"Meet Galaxy S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra."
Not the FE!!
And also checking samsung.com for the specs; under Connectivity; S20 clearly states ANT+ YES - BUT this is missing in the S20FE and all the later S21 series phones!
I imagine of the millions of phones sold - actual ANT+ users are a small %! shame.
Samsung appear to have dropped Ant+
I now have a newer S21 plus 5g (so not an FE version) and Ant+ doesn't appear.
I can now do wahat I need, use a cycling smart trainer and HR monitor, using bluetooth.
