Media does not play through front speakers anymore after upgrading to 4.4.4
Hi,
Can anyone help me find a solution with my audio/speaker issues?
I have an htc sensation xe which i rooted and upgraded to 4.4.4 using this ROM.
Everything is working perfectly and feels like i have a brand new phone, except for 2 issues though:
1. Lost my beats audio (which isn't really a big deal but would be nice to have it back)
2. Media audio like typing sounds, speaker phone mode while on call, music, notification sounds, etc, used to come out from the front speakers but now they come out from the back speakers.
I used the ROM for this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2755257 - which is fantastic btw
Any thoughts? Or can anyone point me to the right thread to fix the issue?

the camera are FC if modify settings , ISO, Tipe jpg, etc... no modify or fc...any solution? this bug are in all versions 4.4.4

I don't understand much, but I think you're talking about robotic voice while in call?
To prevent that bug you need to disable the "okay google" feature or just turn speaker on and off in call.

Beats audio is not part of any aosp based rom. Have a look on viper4android.
I build this rom, but I don't use it myself, so I don't know about these bugs. Did you do a clean install? And are you using the latest release?

There might be something wrong in some changes I made, since I don't know if they are compatible with paranoid android. I will try to fix that for next build.

i'm having this robotic issue as well but turning speaker on and off works just like you said (not a major issue).
Will try to disable "ok google". How do you do that anyway? lol
If wiping phone from recovery means clean install, then i did that Yes i'm using the latest release.
I looked at viper before, but i like this build better. Didn't try it out coz this one's simple and stable.
I've been using my Sensation now for a few days and i'm still happy with it.
I can make do with this set up.
I guess my issue with it is when my phone is in my pocket i couldn't hear the alert tone for text messaging even if it's on loudest. The ringtone is fine, i could still hear it. I don't use vibrate to save power.
Any suggestions? Oh and do you know any app that force-enables the proximity sensor?

Press menu on homescreen -> settings -> voice -> "ok google" detection.
Yes that's what it means, though it means to wipe everything except sd card, not only factory reset.
I personally use carbonrom, so I don't know any way to make it better.
Unfortunately I don't know any app, sorry.

Hello. Found a bug in the latest build. If before dialing check account, then after the call will always throw out the window from the account balance. and this is continued until the overload phone. And this is a bug with the second Betty. I hope in the future to correct. Izvinitie for English I'm from Ukraine!

Hello. Put your assembly a week ago. Here are found the bugs. When photographing with flash - phone goes to reboot. When checking account, and after a call - again flies checking accounts and so on ad infinitum, until you reboot the phone. When removing the lock pops up a window with the main screen and not any application. And so in general it is working properly.

flash sultan kernel

I faced another problem which is whenever i try to take a picture with flush and if my phone charge is below 35%-40%, the phone automatically get off. Then I need to switch in on again. And its happening every time. Any solution??

Ivanich's is not gonna add s2w as he said some time ago.
I'll try to reproduce that bug when I have some freetime, but I'll try on carbonrom. If it's kernel related it should be present on every rom using that kernel.

I have tried that but AOSPA with sultan kernel has a problem. After receiving or dialing a call the phone caught hang. SO i had to remove the battery every time after a call. also i found sultan kernel is not supporting 4.6 and over!

Sultan kernel won't work properly since it's 3.0 and we have 3.4 kernel in roms.

i have the last sultan kernel in the last paranoid, but no used s2w, and no bugs for now

Which one did you use? Do you use camera?

[App] [5.0+] Mutifier: mutes notifications in a short time interval

Mutifier mutes notifications that occur in a short time interval. User can determine the time
interval between which notifications will be muted. If many notifications occur between the
time interval indicated, user will hear just the first notification. Notifications are not lost, they
are simply muted.
I developed it for that times when a whatsapp group is continuously writing. Sometimes
I want to hear notifications but I don't want to be continuously disturbed.
Mutifier won't read any of your notifications; it just needs to know the moment when the
notifications occur.
If you have any suggestion please let me know, I will appreciate it and it will help to improve Mutifier.

I have updated Mutifier according your proposal. Version 1.2 includes this new functionality:
Easy mode and custom mode have been added to the application. With the custom mode it is possible to
select which applications should be muted for the selected time interval.

Ive set it up for messenger and whatsapp, 10sec but i cant hear any of notification comming (it doesnt notify on 1st message..)not even after 10seconds
Ive disabled its notifications access and also uninstall this app but it still doesnt work like before

Whatsapp use Media stream for their notification....

Just install, no need to enable any options inside that module....
It basically switched Whatsapp notification to proper Notification stream.
Need root + xposed...

Somehow this only works the first time I installed it & then after some minutes it disables itself.
When I click the activate checkbox, it won't stay activated.
And the notification test is unsuccessful, it won't block any... Only first time only....

Did you grant notification permissions to Mutifier? Is there any option in xiaomi that blocks background apps?

It got to do with their GLOBAL ROM...
I changed to China ROM and all works OK....

I tested with 6.0, 6.0.1, 7.0, 7.1.0, 8.0 and 8.1.0, and works fine. I didnt test with Samsung devices. Some users of xiaomi also reports to me that it doesnt work.
If I can test with Samsung I will report.

Was working perfectly on my OP3T on marshmallow and nougat, but starting Oreo it doesn't work anymore...

Hmm strange. Maybe it is samsung that is the problem.

Google Camera 6.1.009 and newer camera thread

This thread is a starter for the GCAM devs to hopefully provide us a working GCAM for the essential phone based on the new update. As of right now, you need to be on P at a minimum.
YOU NEED TO HAVE LOGCATS FOR HELP How to LOGCAT 101
You can also use a ondevice logcat tool, like matlog. I clear matlog, start it, directly create my problem, go back to matlog, stop it, then sort by "CAM" in this case, so i can see all camera related errors, then save it.
The idea is this.... all of the major gcam devs have the OP6 or something that isn't the essential phone. If we politely tag them, and have a logcat in hand, perhaps we can get support quicker for our device.

I haven't tried it yet, kind of afraid to bootloop since it appears specific to the A1 phone. But was curious if what they've done can help get the monochrome camera working on Gcam and other apps in a similar way.
I know you (I think?) had discussed the challenges and limitations of this when asking Essential for support in an AMA in July/August in which Essential basically said "no." But wasn't sure if anything done with the A1 is different than what you've tried.

I spoke to cstark about this with the Nokia 8 ages ago and the basic idea was that if the secondary camera doesn't show up in camera identifier in the Camera2test app then there's literally no way to make this work.

Thats what ive come across as well. Im just curious though.... How is it hidden from apps like this. I know in build.prop there is a aux cam white list for apps. but ive tried adding all the package names...nothing. What are we missing, how does klik camera turn it on....

I still can't get any of these apps to quick launch from a locked ascreen with the power button shortcut. I'm just getting an error message about permissions. Is anyone else getting this or is it something I have installed that's causing the problem?

I logcatted it. Doesn't tell me much of anything unfortunately. Like what permission it wants perhaps.

Happens on my device too. It actually didn't back when using some of the first Arnova8G2's 6.1.x builds (sorry I can't remember which exact versions).
There is a *partial* solution to launching it from lockscreen - wether it is actually locked or not - by simply having the app in memory.. But that's obviously far from ideal.
Was gonna try to gather some (hopefully) helpful logs but.. :

It's really weird.
Using SystemUI Tuner, I can also confirm the very same thing happens when swiping the corresponding lockscreen shortcut.
(OT : By the way, don't know why they were originally removed since adding back phone & camera shortcuts does make the bottom messages corresponding to the targetted function : "swipe right to make a call" & "swipe left to open camera".. something like that anyways)

I can confirm that Photobooth crashes on my PH-1 too. Can anyone provide a logcat to Arnova8G2?

Problem WhatsApp video call

Can't see me in WhatsApp video calls, I look very large as if I had a zoom, someone with the same problem?

Yes I have the same problem and I sent back the phone to Realme, I just got the a new one and still have that issue. Please someone help !

if I'm not wrong in thinking, I believe it's down to the fact that WhatsApp records video in 9:16 aspect ratio on all phones as just standard. And then when you are viewing yourself, it's zooming in to fit your image onto a 9:20 screen. However, others should see it in 9:16.
I hope this makes sense and as far as I'm aware it's not a phone problem. It's just trying to fill your image onto the bigger screen but not wanting to stretch.
Best that I can offer is to fill the status bar as black to make the screen theoretically smaller.
I don't think it's any issue on Realme's side but WhatsApp use of needing to work on devices of all screens and sizes, if that makes sense.

I just found out I have the same problem. Strange enough I see myself good in the mini window inside whatsapp, but the other person sees only the lower right quarter of the image, like it was zoomed in.

the workaround solution is you have to temporary downgrade your whatsapp version to the older version, i cannot remember which version, but i fix my video call issue.
the only problem of the version is the group call has limited to 4 instead of more.

When you find the version number. Can you post it here as I prefer WhatsApp video calls compared to other services. Currently am using Instagram and it's annoying.

Yep, I prefer Google Duo too. Works fine, and Viber as well. WhatsApp just sucks.

Since I moved from Samsung Galaxy note 10+ to MiS12 Ultra, my WhatsApp and WhatsApp business, and even the dual WhatsApp account are being banned like every 24 hours. I send an email to WhatsApp support and they reply that their system flagged my accounts for suspicious activities and violations...bla bla and then they check, confirm that they are no violations and unban the accounts. a couple of hours later I would be banned again
I tried to explain to them that this is happening repeatedly but in vain. They just do the same every time.
I have the updated official Chinese ROM MIUI 14 and Android 13
Other than that, contact names on WhatsApp sometimes appear, sometimes not, so is my profile photo to my contacts
Anyone is having the same problem? Any solutions? I have tried registering my phone numbers, uninstalling and re-installing WhatsApp, but nothing seems to work
Would appreciate any help, as I started considering abandoning WhatsApp completely

Maybe try:
Try to uninstall Whatsapp and install it again. As soon as the app is up, enable two factor authentication to prevent the ban.

You're not the only one reporting this, seems to be a problem with Whatsapp .

Tried looking if anyone was reporting it but couldn't. I think it's specific to the device or ROM, since I tried going back to my old device and there was no issues at all. Of course I'm not planning to continue using both devices

Maybe because it is a Chinese device.

I suspect maybe your Chinese ROM. Try installing the Xaiomi.eu ROM. It has been debloated and deChinesed.

Here's what apparently worked for me. I have enabled (no restrictions) for WhatsApp in manage apps->whatsapp and I have manually synced WhatsApp account. There was also an updated version so I updated mine and until now everything seems to be working fine, i hope

Does that mean if my account is permanently banned on a xiaomi device it might work on other devices

Am facing the same and finally the ban my Number Completely.
I managed to install EU ROM but am still facing the same and I can't use WhatsApp even after buying new Phone Google Pixels

My Xiaomi 10,11,12 and 13 Ultras all worked with Chinese stock ROM before moving to EU ROM. It has nothing to do with the Chinese ROM. I have used my 13 Ultra since launch with WhatsApp on the Chinese stock ROM. No issues with using and restoring account data here in the UK.

I was facing same problem with my Redmi K30i and solved issues, but this is not recommended.
You have to unlock your phone and need to install pixel experience rom with android 13. Only this rom stop WhatsApp's frequent band. I tried all rom but only this rom worked
