Control your USB DAB+ receiver with a simple and straightforward user interface.
Slideshow works nicely. There are no station logos though.
This is no competition for the excellent "DAB-Z" app. It's rather for people like me with thick fingers and an unreliable touchscreen ...
The user interface is extremely simple, optimized for car screen, with large buttons and selection areas - those touch screens are not always perfectly calibrated. The UI closely matches the one I created for the Klyde module app
It's optimized for car screens of 1024x600, in landscape mode. If you have a different resolution and the app looks weird, post at this thread. Maybe I can add annother layout.
This app is build upon the HRadio example code by IRT GmbH (Fabian Sattler), published under the Apache License 2.0. It's still available on Github as of this moment, but the company was dissolved so there is no guarantee.

DAB+ Radio USB - Apps on Google Play
Radio app for USB DAB+ receivers (not SDR), optimized for car headunits

Update from 2023-03-13
Version 1.1.0 allows to save the currently visible infotext by appending it to a text file. The content of this text file can be exported, shared over various apps or cleared. This comes handy e.g. if you like the song that's playing and want to note down title and artist.
In addition, efforts were made to make the USB and low-level media code more stable.
Update from 2021-06-03
Version 1.0.2 added experimental support for steering wheel button operation.
Skip Next = Next Station
Skip Previous = Previous Station
Play = Next Filter (set of stations, cycles through "All" "Selected Program Type", "Favourites")
If you have the Steering Wheel App, you can assign these commands to any buttons.
Update from 2021-05-25
Version 1.0.1 comes with a color picker, to customize the color of the info text.
Just touch and hold the info area!
Working away from home at moment, but will try when I get home again

This application is free. There are no ads.
It does not store, use or transmit user data. It does not even build any network connection.
It stores only application settings, like the list of stations.
Promise.
I have installed this on my head unit - currently using Witson Rom, Android 10.
It has installed, then searched and found 76 stations, but as soon as the station tries to play, it closes down, every time.
Are there any restrictions to it, as in Android 9 only, needs root etc

If you are online while that happens, I should see a crash report on Google Play. Let me check ...
Edit: No, I don't see a crash report yet. If you know how to use "logcat" or the app "Catlog", you can post the crash ("Unhandled exception") right here.
Just had another look, unfortunately the ROM is not rooted, so cannot get a log (?). Tried sending feedback through the app if that works. It's not actually closing, just putting itself in the background, but not playing anything. If I click on stations before it disappears, it shows them for a few seconds, goes back to main screen, then disappears.

If it's doing that, it is really (quietly) closing with an exception.
Unfortunately, there are hundreds of possible causes, so I can't do much without a stack trace of the problem. Still nothing on Google Play but they are quite slow with data updates recently.
This is the best I can do

Well, it looks like a log should, but unfortunately it does not seem to include the moment of the crash ...
It should include several lines, one of which begins with "Caused by ..."
Hello again. Changed ROM to Malaysk 10 lite with root, and tried again. The app is still crashing just after it receives full signal. Had a quick look at log, and there are several "caused by" events, hope it contains info you can use. I will change to Malaysk ROM 9 to see if it is an Android 10 issue.

Change to base rom without mods by the two kangers
Installed Android 9, and I'm afraid it does exactly the same thing. I was hoping to use this instead of DAB-Z, which works with no problems, as I like the look, but I suppose DAB-Z it is for now.

I can see a few crashes on my Developer Console at Google Play now. The ones I can do something about should be fixed in version 1.0.2.
Others are from deep inside the native C library. I have no idea what's causing them.

Well, you can still test updates from time to time. Chances are that others get similar errors, so I may be able to address them eventually.
No worries!

By the way, in case anyone wonders - I'm running HAL9K 4.0.2 (with paid updates).
Fixed annother bug that was introduced with the steering wheel feature - probably unnoticed as it only happened when the app was closed.
the device is developed for digital audio broadcast receiver for worldwide application.
Promising app... thank you. I am testing it on my PX5 with S32F0 MCU and full Malaysk ROM. It works well, but I found a bug. W.r.t. other DAb apps, this one found less stations during the search. If I am not wrong, a complete ensemble is missed (Italy). I can check this later and give you more details.

It shouldn't be a problem to add another ensemble. I just need the frequencies, and I assume there is documentation about that somewhere.

I'm pleased to announce the release of the Advanced Map Live Wallpaper, which allows you to show your position on a variety of maps on the homescreen.
Features:
* Wide selection of maps (Ordnance Survey, Google, Satellite, Terrain, Bing, OpenStreetMap, USA VFR and IFR charts...)
* Battery friendly - it uses network locations and shuts down whenever the homescreen isn't visible.
* Data friendly - aggressive caching means that you should only need to download a map tile once.
* Variable zoom on all maps
* Accuracy circle (can be switched off)
It's partly based on my original OS Map application, and draws on code from the open-sourced Rmaps2 and the AndNav library. Consequently, this application is also open-source, with the source available as soon as I've figured out how to use the Google Code repository (or you have have it as a ZIP file by email).
Notes:
This is a BETA release. I'd appreciate it if you could post any problems in this thread instead of leaving a low rating on the app. Ordnance Survey maps won't work outside the UK.
Right now, if you turn GPS on, you may need to select another wallpaper before it'll turn off again. You might also need to turn "Refresh Position" on in the settings page, which will be fixed in the next update.
Finally, I apologise to whoever's house is in the screenshots since I picked a location at random!

Update (14/06/10):
New version (0.9.3) uploaded. Minor cache fixed, force-close issue *hopefully* fixed, some general tidying up in the source. If it force-closes for you, try clearing the application data. Alternatively, enter the settings page, choose a different map type, and it should work. You can change the map type again after that. Hopefully resolved now I've remembered to close the database... ;-)
For those who can't find it, it's available to download here. You'll have to check for updates manually, I'm afraid, and if you keep an eye on the Market it should turn up eventually.
Update (16/06/10):
New version (0.9.4) uploaded. Fixes include landscape support and the really irritating bug where it would forget to load map tiles should now be gone.
Get it here (if you can find it on the Market, I strongly recommend downloading it from there instead):
http://maps.androidgamer.org/wallpaper/release/Advanced_Map_201006161712.apk
Update (5/07/10):
Version 0.9.5 uploaded to Market. Only major change is the addition of the Hike and Bike map as requested by a user. It should show up as an update on Froyo.
Also discovered the reason why it's not showing in the Market for Droid users - turns out that they don't respect the "Live Wallpaper" filter and won't show apps with that enabled in the Manifest.
Out of curiosity, is anyone still encountering problems with either the wallpaper itself, or finding it in the Market?
Update (4/08/10):
Version 1.0 uploaded to the Market. Major changes include the addition of Google Traffic and smooth scrolling between home-screens. (I hope you appreciate that, it took AGES to implement...) ;-)
There's an issue with force-closing on some phones which I haven't been able to resolve - no one has replied to my request to run Log Collector, and without a log I can't fix the problem. The Android Market is supposed to show crash reports, but doesn't.
Donations:
I've never been keen on asking for money, but there is a "donate" version to the Market. It's identical to the current release (which will always remain free) but it would be great to get a bit of reward for the hard work that goes into writing a Live Wallpaper.
It's only £1 and donations provide an excellent motivation for bug fixes and new feature requests. If you have the normal version, you'll find a donate link in the settings page.
Looks good, gonna try it out.
awesome
hmm interesting will try it for sure!
Even with the battery saving features, I can't imagine this not being a battery hog...
Wow, this is awesome. Thanks!
It would be really cool if we could get an overlay like: greenchairpress .com/blog/?p=1392 working. It's cool having maps, but it's not something I see myself using day to day. If there was a map alternative that was a bit more stylized that would be rad.
looks good. Just installed it. will let you know.
Not showing up on the market for me
alexland - is it possible to browse Bing Maps in that style, or does the Microsoft server have to render each mini-map on request? If it's possible to just get the tiles, in theory it should be possible to have it on the homescreen.

Me either. Bummer.
The accuracy circle bothered me on the other map wallpaper, thanks for letting us disable it. Are there plans to enable panning, or was that left out in favor of battery life?
Sick man. Thanks
Can't find it on the market either.
German Milestone from O² here...
Also, could you maybe add VFR/IFR maps for Europe in the future? Since I'm in aviation this would definately make it a wallpaper to keep =P
Thx in advance and before even having tried it,
Stefan

found on market, thanks... will give a try!
Clearly something is up, there are lots of us unable to find it in the market. I learned about this app on an Android site and the one and only comment to the article was someone saying that they could not locate it either.
This looks like a great app, but I can't find it in the market either when I scan the QR code.
I have a Sprint hero on 2.1
ok, so, i think this only shows up on froyo. I was running cyanogen 5.0.7 (2.1) on my nexus one and it wasn't showing up. Then I restored to a nandroid of froyo (2.2) I had and searched for it, and sure enough it showed up, also, the screenshots in the thread are froyo, or at least look like it, so that also leads me to the conclusion its froyo market only

Nike+ Running was released for Android last night in the Play Store.
DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT THE DEVELOPER OF THIS APP. IM PURELY PUTTING THIS HERE FOR INFORMATION. ANY BUG REPORTS SHOULD BE SUBMITTED DIRECTLY TO THE APP DEVELOPER.
Full description here:
The most popular running app is now available on Android, for free!
Map your runs, track your progress and get the motivation you need to reach your goals. No sensor or additional products needed, just grab your phone and go.
- From the trail to the treadmill, your phone's GPS and accelerometer accurately record your distance, pace, and time. In-run audio feedback lets you know these metrics at every mile, so you can stay focused on your run.
- Get in-ear cheers from your friends on Facebook when you broadcast that you’ve started a run. Tag the friends you ran with and share a map of your route with friends and family.
- Have a song that gets you pumped? Set up PowerSongs to give yourself a boost with the tap of a button.
- Our Run Summary makes it easy to view your route and track how you felt, the terrain you tackled, and the weather you endured.
- Rotate your phone while viewing the Run Summary to see the breakdown of your run into mile splits.
- See how your last run stacks up against your previous seven, and get fresh insights based on your latest activity every time you come back to the app.
- Swipe upwards on the Home Screen to view your next moves. From picking your PowerSongs to challenging one of your personal bests, there’s always something to make your running experience better than before.
- Visualize all your runs side-by-side and see your progress in a bar graph history view.
- Syncing your run to the Nikeplus.com website allows you to view your maps on a larger screen, set a new goal, and find Nike+ Top Routes in your area. Check it out.
- There’s even shoe tagging. Type in the name of your running shoes to track the distance they’re logging and see when it’s time to lace up a new pair. You’re never done running, but your shoes might be.
- Need extra motivation? Add a widget to your phone’s home screen to show when you ran last, display your total mileage, and for even quicker access into a run.
- Some features such as Share Run and Cheer Me On require users to be connected to a wireless network for full functionality. Please note that continued use of GPS running in the background could dramatically decrease battery life.

When i tried to download this from the Play Store it said my device (HTC One X) was incompatible. I have installed the APK directly and it works perfectly!! Post below if you find its working for you too!!
EDIT: If you want the latest updates you need to download and install market enabler (will add apk in a sec), change country to t-mobile (us) and in Play store hit menu -> settings -> my apps, and there should be an option to update nike+.

Don't work on my galaxy nexus...
I have it, and happily using it on my samsung Galaxy Note, with ICS.
However, I just recently noticed that it has been eating up my battery, even when I am done using it. According to ICS battery consumption, it is on top of the list, and even eating up greater power than the screen.
So , how do I properly shut this app down, including its background processes after using it?
does anyone have the latest 1.0.2 apk for this with stability fixes? In the UK only O2 customers can get this app until the end of the year

Vendor Specs:
Vendor Site:

Experience:
My Car:
KIA Ceed 2008
Installation:
Installation was pretty easy. Once I got rid of the middle console and removed the old Radio, the installation was easy. Stuff all the adapters (WIFI, 3G, GPS) where it makes sense and fix the Radio. You need a 2DIN Install-Cage for your Car, so get that ahead of time. I won't go deeper into the installation, there are numerous "how-to"s that do this way better than I can
Getting Started:
After the installation, the unit gives you no basic steps like you would assume from Android (the timezone, user, mail stuff). General Language is set to English, the Keyboard has an additional Asian keyboard as well so set this to your desired language asap. The unit is fast, the UI is well thought out for Car use. CD play and DVD (region 2, Europe) was no problem and also fast. I added another Bluetooth Adapter because the onboard bluetooth has the known limitations for this kind of head units (only phone connection) and I want to use my Bluetooth ODB2 Adapter.
Until now, I have only positive things to say about this unit. I had a China-Unit before, which broke down after a year of usage and where the hardware quality just wasn't good (wobbly buttons, display kept getting pushed in because it was not mounted correctly and so on). This has a good hardware quality (until now )
Over the next few days, I will configure the Bluetooth stuff and I will see how well configurable the hardware buttons are (for example: Start Spotify instead of the music app when I press on Music and so on).
If you also Plan to get an Android Unit and don't want to wait for Android Auto (and the fact that all units will start at around 1000 € probably ), this may be your unit.
They ship from the UK (even have a warehouse in Germany, where I come from) so if you are in Europe, you don't have to worry about taxes and so on. Also, shipping was very fast (like.. Amazon fast).
Please tell me your experience with this device
Additional pictures:
Spyware?
I have installed this unit this past weekend and I really like it. I have a question though about the possibility of having pre-installed spyware from the chinese on these android devices. How would I go about detecting the possibility that there is something lurking somewhere?

Hi, could you make a photo of your Settings->About screen? Would be curious about the system version and the MCU Version you have.
Does the radio already play when booting up or do you have to wait until the boot is completed?
Thanks!

Hi Bockiii
How did you get on using spotify?
I cant get the next and previous buttons to work with spoifty, could you?
LONG story short I bought this used MCMW head unit, tried getting my money back but PayPal sided with the seller even though it's missing pieces and constantly crashes after about a week of use. Performance has been under par (compared to AVINUSA.com or Joying unit's I've got running in other BMW's) and the manufacturer hasn't been helpful when I keep asking for firmware to reflash the unit to see if that'll help. It'll run decently for about a week, then suddenly Waze, the DVR app, etc will continually crash leaving me to only use the unit for Bluetooth and that's about it...unless I reset it back to factory, reinstall apps and then buy myself another week. The touchscreen is oddly either unresponsive or too sensitive as I'm scrolling around, it's just getting frustrating for daily use. I just wanna see if anyone has any advice on how to improve it's performance so it's usable and doesn't need weekly resetting. Even pointing me to the correct forums would be helpful but direct links to actual flashable firmwares, updates, etc would be awesome.

Unfortunately, the forum crystal ball doesnt know what you unit is and from the hundreds of made up models and brands, the seller could be selling units of different types, from different factories, despite branding with the same model name.
Post screenshots from Android system information, including the MCU version when posting questions.
Doing this will at least help others help you, or you might find the information has already been posted or discussed here, yourself.
Damn it, man...just squint harder and you'll see it!! ;-)
My bad....I'm at work, meant to post these and then got caught up. Hopefully these suffice.

Hello, your unit is MCU: MTCH, the app crashes problem is doing the last updates of android webview and chrome. Maybe that's your problem too. Just uninstall and disable their updates, reboot the unit. Ignore any requests to update them. A firmware update won't help, this is the only working solution on Android 10 so far.
Ok, I'll try that since I did update Android Webview and Chrome during my lunch, yet Waze and my dashcam app crashed consistently on my drive home. I'll try uninstalling both and see if that helps me avoid having to completely reset the unit again.
Requested moderator moves to MTCD section.
Op read through MTCD section, the issue has been discussed already.

Disabled, cleared their storage and now Waze works again. Unit's still slow to respond (dragging apps for split screen took like 8 tries) vs it's stats but at least it works now. Thanks for the help.
I bought the same unit for my E38 but I bought it from Xtrons directly thru xtrons-usa on ebay I almost purchased it from MCMW until I figured out he is reselling an Xtrons unit even though he says he is not and says that Xtrons is rubbish. I can tell you it is the biggest POS I've spent $400 on so MCMW is right it is rubbish. I think it runs better after updating webview seams to be more fluid but I just updated it after reading this thread lastnight so time will tell, you understand.
Xtrons PQS1139BL issues
Hello, I purchased an Xtrons PQS1139BL and it's been a toxic relationship. I love the features but its very buggy. Xtrons says there are no updates for this unit and I think they are tired of dealing with me. This is my bug list. Every...

I did resolve the noise issues by dumping the factory amp since I posted this.
Ooh I'm sure they're the ones exact same units, I guess the only saving grace of keeping this used unit is that it included all the iBus converter and another module I'm forgetting about but I can read everything from the OBC on the iBus app and it adds features like triple blinkers.
My current frustration with the unit (which happened to bring me back to these forums today) is that I wanted to see if there's a way to adjust screen sensitivity/accuracy. As I mentioned above it takes multiple times to move apps around in the app drawer, trying to run dual apps and even general use.

PeaceOS (beta) - FYT UIS7862(s)/UIS8581a only for 1280x720.Hello everyone, I present my draft assembly for the FYT UIS7862(s) platform with a resolution of 1280x720.
I'm a beginner modder so don't expect too much. I work a little with graphics and xml, I work badly with code. I will refine as long as there is a desire, free time and ideas.
The name is a piece of the world and an attitude to what is happening in the world.
The idea was picked up by SM52 - to make all native software in one style.

Spoiler: Done now:
Launcher - mod for teyes launcher. While one, put your others at will. Changed graphics and layout to three columns (pip, typewriter, players). The dockbar (hotseat) has been expanded, it has a shortcut to launch FrontApp from KёniG and, accordingly, switch PIP on the go. The car has just been repainted. In the "widgets" of the players, any third-party (through the crutch of the universal music widget), native player / radio and BT (flipping up and down with a swipe) is launched.
Settings - graphics and layout have been changed, now there is a minimum of running lines that do not fit, translation has been corrected, comments have been added to each item. Added entry to BT settings and original android settings.
Player - joing base, graphics and layout changed. On the left side is the player control, on the right side are the tracks. In a separate tab, the choice of playback by folders / artists / albums / favorites.
Radio - mod base from tyukhta. The list of cities and radio stations, as well as the icons are taken from the F23 mod. Changed layout and graphics, radio control in the left window, list of radio stations in the right window.
Bluetooth - joing base, graphics and layout changed.
MS - garry222 mod base, volume panel graphics changed.
SystemUI - changed graphics and layout. Notifications work, the temperature of the CPU and the display of flash drives are embedded. Based on the mod SM52.
Spoiler: In the plans:
to finish what is now
complete the stock software to the end
make several launchers for different tastes
there are interesting ideas
Spoiler: Installation:
For experienced ones - download allappupdate.bin, throw it on a USB flash drive with the current lsec6315update, your config.txt and updatecfg.txt with a full cleaning. As a system, I used 2023-03-08__FYT7862_FW_MD_EDITION_NO_MAINSERVICE_V1.zip and the current FMC from mariodantas, but this is optional.
For absolutely lazy or beginners, the FULL_PeaceOS_v0.1_beta.ZIP assembly was made.
unpack to a flash drive formatted in FAT32
add your config.txt there
insert into the HU and wait for the green inscription about the successful firmware
pull out the flash drive, wait for the download, configure and us
Spoiler: Recommended reading:
after installation, I advise you to go to the "settings" and select the launcher again. By default, the launcher goes to config.txt, but here it is worth doing so, for the stable operation of "widgets".
to operate the universal music widget of the public app "Ubiquity Music Widget" and configure it. To work, be sure to open the settings for accessing notifications. If you do not set the default player, it will work with everyone, but after opening. If anything, it will be with, but it will probably work.
did not begin to add navigators and other weights, reducing the assembly of scales. Each is installed as you wish.
the build looks best in a dark theme, which is activated by a command via adb or FMC by mariodantas comes into play
the assembly is still raw, jambs are possible, write, if possible I will correct it. I want to post a joke by April 1 and ... otherwise I would have dragged it out for a long time, without fail

0. Are you sure you are using a FYT device with UIS7862 processor and 1280x720 resolution?
1. When flashing, did you add your config.txt?
2. After installation, did you go back to the settings and use the launcher?
3. If the answer to all questions is yes, then attach the config.txt file
Small update for PeaceOS.
Actual for those who did not like the machine: D
A couple of variations of the launcher based on the native one, installation over the existing one by simply installing the APK as an update.
One with a large PIP-window due to the place of the typewriter.
Spoiler
The second - the car is hidden behind the PIP-window and, accordingly, the choice is one of two, in place of the car, a widget of a third-party player.
Spoiler
Download from the link specified in the mod, I will add the rest of the developments on the mod's firmware there.
On other firmwares there will be problems with the widget of third-party players and partially with launching applications in the dock bar

I have no idea what password is required there, I have never seen such a thing.
After the firmware, did the desktop appear or were there blinks right away? Blinking usually if you do not apply the launcher through the settings.

In Mario, only the core is flashed, and it is universal. The config file is individual for all HU manufacturers. I could add my config to the firmware, but then someone's screen will turn over or the bluetooth will stop working

Got Mario's back up, in English. But did like the way the Peace launcher looked. Maybe I'll try it again. Not tonight though.
Took Mario’s and added the “allappupdate.bin”
sill have same issue with Home Screen flashing, everything else looks fine.
got my apple CarPlay up so I’ll be ok till I can play around with it tomorrow.
same issue for me -- flashing home screen (background goes on/off, status bar up top disappears/reappears causing a vertical shift) and french language. I like the looks for the settings etc but using a 3rd party launcher (Nova) and Mario's kernel.

If it didn't flash, I'd be happy. It looks much better than factory.
What head unit do you have? I have an ATOTO S8G2 7" Ultra. I think ATOTO has discontinued it, as I didn't see it the last time I went to their site.
Looked it up and it's 1024x600. That might be the issue for me.
Great job, I really like the gray interface. combined with the MD-EDITION kernel it's just perfect.
I hate to see future improvements because the rendering is great.
will there be any changes to the fuel consumption app? because the original one is horrible and badly translated (French language).
