Paranoid Android Ruby Alpha 1 - ASUS ROG Phone 3 - ASUS ROG Phone 3 ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Othe

We are very excited to announce the beta of Paranoid Android Ruby, based on Android 11.
On the first launch, you’ll notice a clean setup with a beautiful wallpaper from Hampus Olsson, who teamed up with us again to create several beautiful pieces of artwork. Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose design stands for itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We also added further UI touches that we believe enhance the overall user experience. You can find all of the Paranoid Android wallpapers and many more in the Abstruct app, included in our builds.
Our builds are based on the Code Aurora Forum Android base, which is optimized for Qualcomm platforms and has a higher degree of performance, battery life, and functionality compared to the Android Open Source Project platform. The Paranoid Android team and contributors are focusing on squashing existing bugs, and implementing and improving features, performance, and stability. We are dedicated to providing a user experience with the stability that you can expect from stock ROMs with best-in-class performance and features to help you get the most out of your device.

[Updated] The Best Nougat Based Custom ROM for MI 4i.

Dear MI 4i users,
We have got a lot of Nougat ROMs for our device recently and most of them are being actively developed.
You may have tried some of them, or may be wanting to try one now. But, with so many available ROMs, you'll be easily confused as to which is the best one yet for your daily use. So, here is little help for you to sort it out.
Note: If you have already tried the ROMs, please vote for your favourite one and help others to decide. You can also share your thoughts on the ROMs you've tried so far in this thread
List of best Nougat based ROMs for MI 4i
[*]AICP 12.1
AICP aka Android Ice Cold Project is highly customisable ROM with lot of features and best community. It also has highly active development with nightly builds, just like CM(used to be )
[*]AOSPExtended
AOSP Extended is an AOSP based rom which provides stock UI/UX with various customisations features along with the Substratum theme engine. The project has been made by cherry-picking various commits from various other projects. Being based on AOSP it provides a smooth and lag-free experience out of the box. We will constantly try to add more features and make it even better in future updates. A ROM by a user, for a user. #StayAOSP #ExtendYourDevice
[*]crDroid 7.1
[*]CyanogenMod 14.1
CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 7.0 (Nougat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community.
[*]PixelROM
PixelROM is a custom firmware aka ROM for various Android devices. It is built from CyanogenMod 14.1 with additional features, performance and battery life improvements.
The idea behind PixelROM is to give users a ROM that is "blazing fast and buttery smooth".
[*]Resurrection Remix
Resurrection Remix the ROM has been based on CM, Slim Omni and original Remix ROM builds, this creates an awesome combination of performance, customization, power and the most new features, brought directly to your device
[*]Slim7
SlimRoms is a custom android operating system. Our main goal is to offer users a slimmed down yet feature rich alternative to other android operating systems.
The entire SlimTeam work together to bring you this tailor-made beauty straight from Android Open Source Project (AOSP) source code.
[*]XOSP 7
Common features:
All ROMs are either LineageOS or AOSP based. So, at minimum, you can definitely see the feature set of LineageOS(or CyanogenMod formely) in all ROMs.
AOSP based ROMS like Slim7, AICP may additionally have their own custom features which are very useful and allow a high-degree of customisation.
Effectively, all the ROMs add their own flavour to the sweeetness of Nougat to make your device a pleasure in hand. :fingers-crossed:
Important : Go through respective ROM thread list of bugs and respective solutions, if any.
•=============================== A VERY USEFUL TIP ===============================• If you're flashing a new Nougat ROM on top of existing Nougat ROM, then there is no need to back-up everything everytime. Just wipe Cache and Dalvik/ART in TWRP and then flash the new ROM.
First boot will take 4~6 minutes irrespective of ROM and it's normal.
This works because all of the ROMs above have same base (7.1.1). I've personally tested this trick and it worked for CM14.1 <-> AICP12.1 <-> PixelROM.
It should work for other ROMs too. I'll let you know when I try or you can try and share the result.
A big advantage of this trick is that all the apps will be preserved and even the customisation you had done will be restored when you revert back to previous ROM. But note that this may break some Gapps because all ROMs don't support same package.
Finally, be warned: this method works only for switching between Nougat ROMs given above. Don't try this if you're on a different ROM.

that trick will works fine now
but when CM theme engine comes up
you can't dirty flash a CM theme engine rom with OMS rom :/

1. Of course. I'll warn when that happens. But, are you suggesting that LineageOS team is working on their own gene engine? Because, that would be great considering the simplicity of CMTE.
2. I have already added it to the list.

hey what about viper rom . plss develop one for mi4i also
Anyone tried slimrom.?? Is it stable???
AospExtended ?
crDroid is good, AICP 12.1 also works great.
BTW you should add AospExtended to your list.
In my opinion it is cleaner and smoother compared to other Android N roms.

[ROM][AOSP][7.1/8.1 EXP][K3.4][Repartition] Unlegacy Android Project

The Unlegacy Android Project
TF201 | TF300T/TG/TL | TF700T
Introduction
Unlegacy Android started out as the OMAP4-AOSP Project. It was created in late 2015 in order to maintain a clean and organized place for pure AOSP support for various OMAP4 devices, such as the Galaxy Nexus and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 series. Over time this evolved to support more than just these devices, but still maintains its roots of supporting "legacy" devices that no longer receive "official" updates: hence Unlegacy Android was born. In our opinion, these ROMs are how the official updates would look.
On top of AOSP, we only include changes which are necessary to support the hardware, be secure, and get acceptable performance. Current features for the Asus Transformer Series include:
- Linux kernel 3.4.y (currently 3.4.113)
- BFQ IO scheduler (official kernel 3.4 release), set up so GUI processes have the highest priority
- F2FS support from kernel 4.9 (for /data and /cache)
Installation
You must have NvFlash backup. It is MANDATORY!
You need to use modified TWRP recovery that works with updated F2FS. It's important that /system needs to be unmounted before installing the ROM - some recoveries tend to leave it mounted after performing operations on it.
If you're planning to install GApps, be sure to read the second post!
Problems
Non working/Known bugs:
ROM is untested, if you want to help with test, PM me. On other TF's known bugs are:
- GPS;
- Bluetooth;
- Camera (both);
- Some dock special keys;
- GUI crashes;
Currently, noone from Unlegacy Team, has TF700T device. Help in developing or device donation would be highly appreciated.
Downloads
Will appear in near future
Features?
There isn't much to say here - this is AOSP, if you install GApps, you pretty much get the same thing that's running on the Nexus devices (see the second post). The aim of this project is to create a fast and stable ROM - although, one could use Xposed (or similar) to add extra features.
As usual, feedback is appreciated

Not to beat a dead horse, but is there a technical problem with 8.0/Go that negates it from working on out TF700s, I'm running KatKiss 7.1 and so far I like it, but would love to see if there any performance gains to be had from 8.0.

8.1 isn't a problem at all (at least for Unlegacy), but to have a good experience we need a stable 7.1
Since noone is interested in this project (no testers) it is TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED.

I'm interested too.

Best 5 Custom Roms For Android pie Devices

Best Custom ROMs for Android
LineageOS
LineageOS is a well-known name in the Custom ROM category. If you have ever used custom ROMs on any Android device, then you must have heard the name of the CyanogenMod. In 2016, the developer of CyanogenMod ROM stopped the development of CyanogenMod ROM, but later they released the CyanogenMod ROM with a new name named LineageOS. So LineageOS is not new to the custom ROM category. A LineageOS is one of the best and No.1 ROM because the ROM is available for the wide range of Smartphones. The Custom ROM is made by the most prominent developer’s team and supports the community.
LineageOS official android Pie update is released for many devices. If we talk about the feature of the ROM, LineageOS comes with little bit customization yes the customization is limited on the LineageOS. If you want a fully stable version of LineageOS, then install the official and Nightly build of the LOS ROM. However, the Android Pie Update of LineageOS ROM released for many devices but currently, most of them are Unofficial. So you may get minor bugs and issues in the ROM. Overall the performance of the stable update of LineageOS is mind-blowing. LineageOS supports 200+ devices, so I hope your device will be included in the list.
Pixel Experience ROM
ixel Experience is the new Rom in the custom ROM category, but this Pixel Experience has gained popularity in a very short time. PE ROM is based on AOSP ROM, with Google Gapps included. As the name suggests the ROM exactly looks like and work like the Google Pixel ROM. ROM comes with the latest Gapps, so Google Pixel launcher, wallpaper, ringtones, fonts, and boot animation are built in this ROM.
If we talk about the Pixel Experience ROM performance, the PE Rom works very smoothly on any android device. Personally, I tried the Pixel Experience ROM on my Redmi Note 4, Redmi Note 5, Zenfone Max Pro M1, Redmi Note 5 Pro. Apart from that, you can get the full Google Pixel Experience in this ROM. If we talk about the customization the ROM support some basic customization like the Theme, always on display, Pixel blue accent color, etc. Like the LineageOS, PE ROM does not support the wide range of devices. However, if you are a Xiaomi device user, then it is likely that pixel ROMs are available for your device. Apart from that unofficial update is available for many Android devices but you may face some issues and bugs on the unofficial ROM.
CrDroid ROM
crDroid is designed to improve the customizability, performance, and reliability of the stock Android ROMIf you have ever used the Resurrection Remix ROM then you must know the RR Rome’s Customization option. Just like the Resurrection Remix ROM the crDroid also support the High level of customization. CrDroid Support the Status bar, Quick Settings, Lock Screen, Buttons, Navigation, Sound, Recent Screen Customization. Currently, the ROM support the 90+ devices and 30+ devices support the android Pie updates. With CrDroid, you not only get many customizations, but it also offers you real pixel experience. The android Pie update of the crDroid comes with the Google Gcam Camera app. , So if you want to tweaks with your Android device, then the crDroid ROM is for you.
Havoc-OS
The next rom in the list is Havoc-OS. ROM is becoming popular day by day and supports many Android devices. The stable version which running on android Pie released for many android devices. The Havoc OS also support the lots of customization like the CrDroid ROM. Apart from customization the Battery backup and the Network of the ROM is still better than the other android Pie based custom ROMs. I tried this ROM on my Zenfone Max Pro M1, and the ROM works very perfectly on it. The Performance of the ROM is outstanding. The customization is limitless in the Havoc OS ROM. You can select the Theme, Customize the Notification Panel, Animations, and so on. Overall the ROM is perfect in all terms if you want a feature pack rom then once try out the Havoc ROM on your android device.
AOSP Extended ROM
AOSP Extended ROM is an aosp based custom ROM which provides you the Stock UI along with some customization option. As the name suggests, the aosp source code directly builds the ROM. The ROM is little bit look like the Pixel Experience ROM because the customization is limited in this ROM. However, the ROM support the substratum Theme engine which completely changes the looks of your device. The Network connection and the battery backup of the ROM are good. AOSP ROM provides you a full lag free and smooth experience. The AOSP developers continue updates their OS and which is a plus point of this ROM. However, all the above ROMs are also regularly updated by the developers. The AOSP Rom also support the forum support. AOSP extended ROM currently supports almost the all smartphone manufacturer device.

How's the ROM and camera?
About bugs.
1. Night mode does not work. The screen doesn't get "warm".
2. Retro player is not stable. It closed with an error (once). Sometimes the sound is interrupted. This may be due to loading images with performers.
3. Not a bug. Lost feature with alarm clock and auto power-on when phone is off. It works on mokee ( for example)
4. Google recognizes the phone as Xiaomi mi a1.
I like the firmware. Very stable on first impressions. ::victory::victory::victory: I'll watch. One question. Why is there no FM radio?
USB debugging is not working even after enabling. In the terminal adb devices shows the device to be unauthorized. Please fix it.
Hotspot WIFI issues
Hello,
My hotspot WIFI can connect to other device but cannot connect to internet and the device is connected is 0.
Unable to check data usage
Hello. I installed this rom yesterday. And I'm liking it. But I can't see my data usage in settings. Usage is always 0.
I tried multiple apps to get internet speed and usage but none of them worked except one. Only app only showed wifi download speed... not mobile data. Will this be fixed by update or there is a work way around? I use metered internet so I need to keep track of usage.
It is great to see paranoid android for this device.?
Thanks for your hardwork dev.
Will try this on my wife's phone.
Slow chaging problem on kerminator kernel that you have attached with this rom on redmi 6 pro . Replace it please.
Night Mode Doesn't Work
I love this ROM very much. It is stable hardly any bugs. But the problem I face is with the night mode. The screen doesn't get warm. Please fix it.
I am used to "warm screens" and it irritates my eyes very badly.
Low Volume in earphones
Hi, the ROM is very stable but the only issue I face is very low volume in-earphones (Call + Songs). Kindly fix in the next update.

i think anti roll back is only for miui version . that is you cannot downgrade from miui 12 to miui 11. this not applies to custom
rom like android 10 to 9.
you can just flash fastboot images from mi flash tool.
Can someone please confirm if audio over bluetooth is working in this ROM
It's broken in pixel experience
if anyone tested the rom..please tell is camera2api enabled by default ...and do tell the bugs if any..
thankyou

Hi this is a recommendation Custom ROM Gaming

Pixel Experience
Pixel Experience is the favorite Android Custom ROM, because this ROM is light like the stock android. There are not many adjustments to this ROM, this has the aim of optimizing the performance of this ROM.
Download Pixel Experience
Havoc OS
One more ROM based on AOSP, namely Havoc OS. Even though it has the same AOSP base as other ROMs, Havoc OS has its advantages.
Based on information from the Official Havoc OS thread in the XDA Developer Community, this Custom ROM is inspired by Google Pixel, which will continue to be improved so that it has optimal performance like Google Pixel.
Download the Havoc OS
Ancient OS
Ancient ROM is a ROM developed by the Ancient Family Team. This ROM seems simple and light, and is designed for gaming or just social media.
Ancient doesn't just develop ROMs, they develop their custom kernels. Wow, great.
Download Ancient
Mokee ROM
Maybe not many know about Mokee. Even though Mokee is a ROM that is diligent in providing system improvements, this ROM always follows Google to provide users with the latest Android system.
Mokee claims via their website mokeedev.com that this ROM provides a smooth and lag-free experience on your device. Must try.
Download Mokee ROM
Lineage OS
Lineage OS is the successor to CyanogenMod, which initially had stopped development. Lineage OS or commonly abbreviated as LOS was launched in December 2016.
This ROM is fairly constant and light, so it can be taken to play games.
Download Lineage OS
EvolutionX
EvolutionX is the ROM that I use today. Quite happy with the performance of this Custom ROM. EvolutionX has many customizations that can be adjusted according to your wishes. This ROM has a balancing characteristic (balanced) between performance and battery.
Based on my experience as a user of this ROM, EvolutionX is light, fast, and reliable for playing games like PUBG.
Download EvolutionX
AOSP Extended (AEX)
AOSP Extended is one of the Android phone Custom ROMs that provide support for many devices, it is not strange that this ROM has many users.
Similar to EvolutionX, this ROM has quite a lot of customizations that can make us happy using this Custom ROM.
Download AOSP Extended
Carbon ROM
Although not as popular as other ROMs, Carbon ROM is a must-try ROM for gaming purposes.
With a fairly complete adjustment, the reality does not reduce its performance, and of course, it has its magnetic power for this Custom ROM.
Download Carbon ROM
There are many of the best Custom ROMs for gaming, but the Custom ROMs I described above are more updated.
Until the time this article was written, all of the Custom ROMs above have the latest Android version, namely Android 10.0 Q, and it is not impossible if it will continue to be upgraded until the next Android version.
Note: The Custom ROM above does not provide support for all types of smartphones, you can check on their respective sites what type of cellphone you have or not.
