Hi guys,
I have a Xperia XZ sov34 and it just bootloops on Sony Logo. It can't be repaired using Sony Xperia companion. I can't enter in factory reset mode using common combination button like power + volume button+ nor power + volume button-.
When I use power + volume plus, the led notification just turn in to bleu and when I use power+ volume minus it turns into green when I plug it to my PC...and Xperia companion says that my phone is locked or i can't unlocked it because the screen is all black.
Please help, What should I do!? Here in my country we don't have Sony client service.
Thank you in advance
The blue LED indicates that the Phone has booted the bootloader. The green LED indicates that you booted the revovery. Both only show a black screen.
From the bootloader you can boot the system using
Code:
>fastboot reboot bootloader
Rebooting into bootloader OKAY [ 0.000s]
Finished. Total time: 0.000s
>fastboot reboot
Rebooting OKAY [ 0.000s]
Finished. Total time: 0.001s
if you have fastboot installed.
You might want to read my post asI had a similar problem and I found a fix for it:
TWRP only shows a black screen
After installing TWRP all I get is a black screen. Any idea why? Here is what I did so far: Bootloader unlocked: I have unlocked the bootloader as described >fastboot oem unlock 0xXXXXXXXXXXXX OKAY [123.312s] Finished. Total time: 123.312s And...

It may or may not help in your case as well.

Seniors, need your help urgent ....
I would download adlx's recovery again and flash it via fastboot with this command:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Maybe you used wrong recovery, size looks a bit small to me...
Hello everyone,
today I had very unpleasant surprise with my nexus 5. Let me tell the whole story from the beginning.
At first, I've never played with my nexus in any way (custom roms, root, etc.), it's all default from the beginning.
Few days ago I upgraded to 5.1 using android default upgrader. Next day I did a factory reset (from the settings menu) and then I encrypted the device. Since the flow of turning on the encrypted Android sucks, I did the factory reset again. Then I installed all the apps etc. and I was happily using the phone for 2 days until today's evening. I plugged my nexus into charging, it had 5% battery and was turned on. An hour or two later, I've noticed that the phone restarted and stucked on "Google" screen.
I tried booting several times. Then I googled how to boot into recovery mode. I hold volume and power buttons for a while, from the screen I chose "Recovery mode" and hit the power button again. Unfortunately I am getting the black screen...
Please, help me to make it working again, I found a lot of Google screen loop problems on the web as well as black screen recovery mode but happening not together and not with stock android.
I would like to have stock 5.1 back, possibly to backup some data before erasing.
Thanks,
alatar

Well you have two options:
Reflash stock rom with fastboot http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/tutorial-how-to-flash-factory-image-t2513701
Or
Reflash stock rom with LG flashtool http://forum.xda-developers.com/goo...orial-how-to-flash-factory-images-lg-t2713833
Both method will wipe your phone.
Use fastboot to reflash stock rom, but you may need to wipe data too. I've had this randomly happen before, luckily for me tho I had twrp and a backup, but even after re-installing the rom it'd still not load, i assume data had just got corrupted somehow unluckily, wiped data and all was fine and has been ever since

Thank you @bitdomo and @Ben36.
So I tried reflashing with fastboot. I connected n5 to my notebook (running Ubuntu 14.04) and I turned on the device into fastboot mode. I ended up with "FAILED (remote: flash write failure)".
Here is what I did:
Code:
/opt/eclipse-adt/sdk/platform-tools$ sudo ./fastboot devices
[I]XXXXXXXXXXXX[/I] fastboot
/opt/eclipse-adt/sdk/platform-tools$ sudo ./fastboot oem unlock
...
OKAY [ 48.373s]

OKAY [ 0.296s]

I wanted to try with another cable and usb port but I didn't manage n5 to be recognized in fastboot lately (fastboot devices list is empty, lsusb is blind as well). I did a lot of attempts both on linux and windows 8 but it worked only twice on linux.
I will try again later. Perhaps you have some advise for this problem?
PS What is strange, after few minutes I plug n5 intro charging , it starts booting by itself... What the hell?
PS2 The phone keeps restarting whole the time... The battery seemed empty so I was charging it. It starts charging, after a minute it starts booting and then after 3 minutes it goes off. All over again and again.

Yes, I do. I have the phone just since few months. Are you sure about that? Cannot it be a failure of my usb port or poor cable quality?

I am sure about that, there plenty of other people having the same problem. Only solution is to buy a new motherboard.
Hi,
I've installed the ROM NXT-L29C432B320, I then wanted to reinstall TWRP using fastboot.
Got the following output:

When attempting to boot into recovery mode (using 'Volume up' + 'power')the screen is stuck at the bootloader:
Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted.

Your device is booting now...
The screen is stuck here, noting is happening.
Already attempted to refllash mutliple times. No difference.
Already attempted to use 'Volume up' + 'Volume down' + 'power', does not work either.
Pressing the 'Volume up' button during boot (without 'power'), shows me the Huawai eRecovery.
Please help me making TWRP work again as I'm now unable to flash any new rom on it!

Try use the more recent TWRP 3.0.2 for EMUI4.1
Use Vol up+down at power on to get to recovery and should work, this is the one that worked for me...

Hi 3abdell,
The version you flashed is an old one. You must flash EMUI4.1 version of Twrp.

Hi. I was following the instruction<oneplusDOTgadgethacksDOTcom/how-to/update-your-oneplus-7-pro-without-losing-root-no-computer-needed-0208078> to upgrade the os on the pro. One step is to install TWRP. I followed the instruction<twrpDOTme/oneplus/oneplus7proDOThtml> and run "fastboot boot twrp-xxxx.img". It finished and my phone displayed "fastboot mode" and freezed there. I tried to hold the power button and hold power button & volume down button. Neither worked. Aappreciate any help.
I only have a macbook pro.

You can upgrade the is without twrp, just go for local upgrade in updater app.
Also the terminal should show downloading boot.img message which is not shown in your case and it is evident that something is wrong.
Mess around a bit and you will figure it out
Hey guys.
I'm having trouble to come forward booting my device with TWRP on my Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact (G8441) using a MacOSX.
Additional info to the phone:
version-baseband:1307-7511_47.2.A.11.228
version-bootloader:1306-5035_X_Boot_MSM8998_LA2.0_P_114
Steps I did:
Unlocking the bootloader (worked)
Flashing with TWRP from Androidfilehost (here) with:
Code:
./fastboot flash recovery TWRP.img
I've used Android 9.0 twrp-3.3.1-0-lilac-pie-5.img as TWRP.img
It gives me:
Code:
./fastboot flash recovery TWRP.imgSending 'recovery' (34548 KB) OKAY [ 0.750s]
Writing 'recovery' OKAY [ 0.262s]
Finished. Total time: 1.016s
Booting with TWRP:
Code:
./fastboot boot TWRP.img
Sending 'boot.img' (34548 KB) OKAY [ 0.749s]
Booting OKAY [ 5.742s]
After step #3 the phone gets stuck on the Splash screen showing "SONY" (blue LED light on)
Rebooting into normal mode using Volume-Up + Power also gives me a similar outcome leaving the phone stuck on the "XPERIA" screen.
I've read somewhere in this forum that a possible solution could be to format the cache and user data which gives me:
Code:
./fastboot format cache
/Applications/Android/./mke2fs failed with status 1
fastboot: error: Cannot generate image for cache
And a similar one for user data.
Does anyone of you have a clue what I did wrong and what I need to do next to solve it? Every constructive comment is much appreciated.
Best
EDIT:
I could get it running and were able to install lineage-17.1-20201217-UNOFFICIAL-v1.7-lilac from here (androidfilehost.com - modpunk).
It was working to get into TWRP through unplugging the USB cable. Restarting the phone and directly after it restarts pressing volume up and plugging in the USB again.
Wondering why you try to boot into TWRP when it has already been successfully installed?
Code:
fastboot boot <TWRP.IMG>
is used if TWRP isn't already installed yet.
You should run
Code:
adb devices
adb reboot recovery
instead.
