Hi, did you rooted your D838 HKG 10d phone? I've the same and towelroot doesn't work.
Did you flashed your D838 HKG 10d to e.g. Singapore firmware version? Which root tool you used?

Ok @tainka, last question:
How do you flash your D838 HKG 10d with Taiwanese firmware without root and where you get this Taiwanese 10d rom?
This is my first LG phone so sorry for noob questions.

Thanks for your answer @tainka - again . But, you see, this wasn't last questions - sorry.:crying:.
Could you share this Taiwanese kdz file? On the cloud? Will be great...
Or maybe you can provide exactly name of this file because I found one kdz file with 10d firmware but there wasn't write is this for Hong Kong, Taiwan or Singapore, so I'm scary to flash it.
Or, another question cool, how did you know that this firmware was for Taiwan not for Hong Kong or Singapore? Or maybe you can give me exactly size of this file or md5?
And again Q. When you flashed your Taiwanese firmware over Hong Kong, you are using LG Flash Tool 2014. But when I looked on the first screen of this app I found very scary me option says: CDMA (but not GSM). Why this scary me? Becoz I'm from Poland, and here we only have GSM networks, not CDMA.
My question is: did you use your flashed phone with GSM network or CDMA? Or, maybe you know that this option has no differences with flashing GSM or CDMA network and I should't scare about this?
Sorry for this investigation, but, you know, I don't want to brick my expensive phone...
Edited: 21:20, 16.11.2014.
For someone who want to know and how - I made it.
1. Bought LG G Pro 2 [16GB 838 model] with preinstalled firmware D838v10d-HKG (that's mean Hong Kong). In this software I didn't have LTE working, but I know I should because of this nice piece of hardware.
2. I tried to root my LG by towelroot from beloved @geohot, but it says - "Device not supported"
3. I dug a xda forum and realize, also thanks to answers of @tainka, that maybe, when I change my firmware, I can root my device in simple way? (bcoz is hard way and harder too).
4. So, with heart in mouth I downloaded some kdz firmwares, even didn't know for what country those was, and try to flash...
5. I used great new flashing tool which works with LG G Pro 2 too and flash D83810f_00.kdz file. Newest firmware, but I didn't know for which country it was.
6. After going flash procedure from page above (you should change language for your preferences bcoz if not, you will see Korean signs as communicates) I get phone with 10f firmware with marker D83810f-ESA-XX. AnyOne know for which country it is?
7. After flashing I realized that my Mobile Data not working. GSM/Voice coverage was ok, but connection to Internet was possible only by WiFi.
8. So, I scared and tried back to my 10d version but I didn't have my original kdz file from Hong Kong, only one from Internet, D83810d_00.kdz - this is this name. Of curse, I didn't know for which country it was too.
9. And after second flash I found that this version was for Taiwan - D83810d-TWN-XX, and 4G (LTE) is working in Poland, and, better, now I rooted my LG G Pro 2 by towelroot with one touch!
10. I almost forgot - CDMA in LG Flash Tool 2014 didn't change anything for me. I got GSM network only in my country (and about CDMA network no one heard in Poland), I used CDMA option in LG Flash Tool 2014 and after flash my mobile works in GSM network. Voila.
So, making summary:
Hong Kong version of 10d firmware not working with LTE in Poland, and can't be rooted by towelroot.
And opposite for this, Taiwanese version of 10d working with LTE in Poland and can be rooted by towelroot.
And both can be flashed on my device without scary. Now I know it [emoji14].
Last but not least: thank you @tainka for your help.
I hope this story help someone and prevent from mistakes.

I have LTE on my device, same firmware and version than yours without flashing anything.
You just have to change something on the build.prop once rooted. I read here on XDA the procedure, find out a little bit. Once done, LTE won't show on the settings menu to choose it but device will get LTE and icon on statusbar will show it.
Regards.

You can try to reflash native baseband of 10d version firmware. But I can't guarantee it help you (bcoz of your country code), and of course, I'm not responsible if you brick your phone.
You can find native baseband file inside archive of Gpro2 CN V6 rom, in ,zip format, ready to flash through recovery - at least, I found it inside that file (Gpro2 CN V6.rar) - you must ask uncle Google. And I flashed it on some v10f rom, and it worked.
But, again, you will do it at your own risk.
And please, report if working!

It will never work properly here (UK) as it's Qualcomm snap dragon and it was build for a different region.
You can attempt to install different firmware from UK or EU but it's really just luck if you get it to work or not.
To get wifi calling to work you will need to flash unbranded firmware, either BTU (UK) or XAS (USA). Even when you flash US unbranded as i said earlier it will not be fully functional in this region as it does not have the required hardware.

Yes if you want to use it in the UK.
Carriers in the US, T Mobile (US), Vodafone (US) etc DO NOT use the same connection standard as Vodafone, T mobile, UK. It is essential you understand this. There is no advantage to flashing UK network branded firmware, unbranded will give you all available connection options but not 100%.

There shouldn't be an issue with the Korean version. Just debloat it with adb and you'll be good.

No you can't debloat the booting logo, but it's literally just a boot logo. Not like you can customize it with European firmware

They don't have identical hardware because there's regional hardware locks that prevent cross flashing. They are tiny fuses which can theoretically be blown somehow in 9008 mode but that requires the firehose.

I believe the answer to your question is that you need to provide a firmware associated with the CSC code of your phone, but I'm pretty new to this. I don't know if you will brick the phone. I assume you will just have to reflash it to the appropriate image.
On a related note, I tried to change my phone's CSC code. The current code is GTO (Guatemala). The code list was Latin American countries only. So a question related to the OP: is it possible to change a phone's available-CSC-code list or is it 100% hardware dependent?
I have got a Samsung Flip3 US unlocked version. Have been using it outside US with and Indian SIM card from last few months without any hiccups. With Samsung Pay working as well.
Now, with the release of 5G services here in India, I'm not sure the bands that Indian operators use are unlocked or not in this. Jio (Indian service provider) says that you're using a non-5G device.
So, I was wondering if I flash an INU firmware to my device. Will it unlock the bands and also let me get OTAs from Samsung? Maybe if someone here did this already?
(According to Jio, this phone is compatible with their 5G network. Also, checked on gsmarena, the international version has the bands that JIO supports.) Since the chipset in international and US is same, I suppose the bands are already there in the device.
Thanks in advance for your help and comments.
Hi Jatin, I don't think flashing your US flip 3 with IND firmware, will fix your problem. The IND firmware is for the F711B model, you are on the F711U1 model. I would not try that. A lot of the F7711B firmware are multi-CSC, but not for the U1 model.
Thanks for the reply, @slysurfer.
I was thinking that since both F711B and F711U1 share the same chipset (Snapdragon 888), the F711B firmware drivers will work on F711U1.
I read some other posts in here (on XDA itself) in which someone with an EUX variant flashed INU firmware to it. Not sure the EUX variant is multi-CSC or not.

Yes, the EUX variant is multi-CSC (to a degree) I can flash any firmware from Europe to South East Asia, but as mentioned we can't flash any firmware from US/Canada.
Big >IF< you can OEM unlock the bootloader you can install twrp and disable the vbmeta and flash a U firmware over a U1 phone and visa versa. But even if you can do all of that it probably still won't work. Personally I'd take it to my local mobile phone stall and see if they can do it.
Thankyou @beanbean50 for your answers.
Sorry for the noob question, . Earlier when Samsung used to release 2 different hardware versions of the same phone like one with Exynos and other with Snapdragon, flashing the other region ROM was not possible.
So, I was just wondering, since both the regions (US & South East Asia) has the exactly same hardware, the networks bands in both of these must only be software locked. Thus, since the US version already has the hardware, can't simply flashing a different region ROM should work.
Again, if there are some other locks that prevent this, it's not possible to flash. Just like if on paper both devices are same, the only difference they have is, they are released in different region.
Also, I checked, both are also manufactured in the Vietnam.

There is not OEM unlocking in under developer options. I have through other posts and things on how to unlock. I suppose it can't be unlocked in a straightforward like F711B can be.
I suppose this is the hard-stop that cleared my doubts.
Thanks one again, @beanbean50 for your time and answers. Really appreciated!!
P.S.: If you or someone you know have some experience unlocking a US snapdragon Samsung device bootloader, please do share. I might have to consider unlocking bootloader in the future.
