Issue updating from Chinese to Euro firmware - Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro (Redmi K30 Pro) Questions & Ans

I am having a big issue. I have a Poco F2 Pro, and I'm changing the firmware to the euro version. For some odd reason I'm on V12.1.3.0.RJKCNXM, Android version of 11. That's the Chinese official firmware I believe.
Don't ask me why. I must have botched the intial set up. Anyway, want to upgrade the to the latest euro firmware/android version and upgrade to a better rom and finally get rid of this mi-bloat. Sadly, it says I need the flash tool and I do have access to it, but it's on a roommates computer and I don't like depending on other people. Is it possible that I can somehow use the TWRP I have to upload the firmware vs using the flash tool? Please let me know thank you!!!

You will need a pc to flash the TWRP.
Flashing a TWRP takes 10 seconds.
With Miflash 10 minutes.
But with the twrp you have to format the data and then put the pc rom on the phone (usb OTG solution).

Thank you. I actually have a TWRP installed called "LR. TEAM" I think it's a Chinese port of TWRP translated back to English. It's called TWRP 3.4.1b-0328.
I can't flash anything from there though, as I can't decrypt the storage and I don't know how to remove encryption.
With that TWRP do you think I might be able to flash the Euro Firmware without Miflash? I have ADB and fastboot via my chromebook. Thanks for all your help.

EEA was specifically designed for EU countries .(RGPD,GDPR).
The EEA ROM doesn't have a Beta program.
Global updates arrive before.
AOSP roms are based on global version.

You can't flash any version of TWRP. It has to be made specifically for the NEX S using their source code, which is currently closed.

How to go back from Oxygen to Hydrogen?

Hi
Recently I flashed my OP 7 Pro from Chinese version of Hydrogen to Global Oxygen 9.5.7.
I have Chinese version of the phone GM1910 and I did that mostly because of the Google Services lock [as Google is banned in CN]
Now I would like to go back to the original version, but I don't think that I can do it by the local upgrade [as the H is a higher version than Oxygen?]
Would factory reset bring it back to the Hydrogen version? Or the Oxygen is now the official version of the software for my phone?
Apologies if my question is stupid, but I am really new to all those flashes and changing ROMs, so I rather ask before fragging my lovely phone
thank you for any info
Flash Chinese Full version (latest) from local update then wipe date from recovery.
changing from Hydrogen version to Oxygen or from Oxygen to Hydrogen is easy
just flash it back from local update, no data wipe is needed if it is no error (official instruction), i flash from h2os to oos without wipe, no problem.

Unlock bootloader and flash it via fastboot ? (provided if there's a fastboot version of the rom)
Local upgrade doesn't allow downgrading firmware. You mentioned that the HOS's version is higher then it shouldn't be a problem right?

Use MSMdownloadtool. There is one for the Chinese phone. it's in the thread collecting all the various MSMdownloadtool archives. Use that to get down to an old version of Hydrogen, then you can flash Oxygen via local update.

fyi, going through same thing now. delete the chinese text from the first folder or copy the guac folder elsewhere. it errors otherwise. took me ages to figure it out.
If that doesn't work for some reason, I'm surprised nobody mentioned using TWRP to flash Hydrogen. If that doesn't work for you, try installing TWRP and then flashing Hydrogen that way. ?

2nd attempt to upgrade to 12.2.4.0 from 12.0.4.0 failed and resulting in storage wipe

Hi,
I would like to know if anybody encountered this. This is my second time encountering this issue. I was on 12.0.4 and received a notification to perform update to 12.4.0. After downloading and rebooting, my twrp launched and after a few seconds instead of flashing, it went to the main menu page. After that, the phone just goes to fastboot mode and refused to boot. My phone has been rooted with magisk. Much appreciated for experts inputs.
The only way for me to boot my phone is to do a clean flash using mi flash tool and fallback to the old version...
Thank you.

V12.0.4.0.QJKMIXM is a android 10 stable rom and V12.2.4.0.RJKMIXM is a android 11 stable beta rom which has many bugs.
V12.2.4.0.RJKEUXM is a stable rom that you can flash with miflash(but EEA not global).
After successfully going to v12.2.4.0, now I am finding that my current TWRP 3.4.1b unable to decrypt the phone thus not able to root it. I guess I have to fall back to 12.0.4.0 to be safe... I was tempted to go to 12.2.4.0 due to android 11 but looks like it's too problematic now due to beta. I was actually wondering why beta was pushed to me.

Yes i am able to successfully flashed twrp via fastboot afterward and directly proceed to root using magisk.
Everything works as usual, except, for me atleast, twrp now require pattern-type (3x3 dot) as password for decryption. Pin or character doesnt works.
Deleted.
To solve update problem you need to Rollback to stable stock rom, I used this:
Code:
lmi_global_images_V12.2.4.0.RJKMIXM_20201228.0000.00_11.0_global
extracted it.
then used mi flash from this toolkit:
Code:

sorry, but I cant provide links to downloads.

Question [FIXED] Hard Bricked LE2115

Background:
I unlocked the bootloader and then proceeded to flash the device from 12 to 11 using THIS tutorial. When I got to the first "fastboot reboot fastboot" the phone never rebooted. The screen is all black. I can't get into recovery or back into fastboot using the button method.
I downloaded the MSM Global tool and got all the drivers installed. I was able to start the flashing process but get "Device not match image" early in the process. I have called OnePlus customer service. They didn't ask any questions just told me to send in the phone. I would rather fix this myself if possible. Any insight and or help is much appreciated.
UPDATE: I found this information, and it had me flash the India 9 Pro version. It worked. I have a booting phone and can now work on getting it back to the US version.
I wish people would stop following the guide for fastboot flashing. Just use the MSM while it still recognizes your device because if fastboot flashing fails, you end up having to flash it multiple times as it's not recognizing it as the correct unit anymore with that level of corruption.
To get back to global firmware, flash this in the local upgrade tool.
https://oxygenos.oneplus.net/OnePlus9Oxygen_22.O.11_OTA_0110_all_2107082125_downgrade_059624cc7298428b.zip
It is the global downgrade package. It will wipe your phone and when it comes back, you will be back on global software.
After you flash that, go to OTA upgrade and it will say it's going to download C.48 but it will actually install 11.2.10.10 and then you will have the latest OOS11.
If you download it directly to the phone or copy it over with a PC, the file may disappear. Enable USB debugging and use adb.
adb push nameof.zip /sdcard/

Thanks for that! The phone is back to fulling functioning with the proper version of OOS. It has been a long time since I rooted and ROMed. Fastboot used to be a straightforward method of flashing a stock ROM. Doesn't seem like it is anymore.

Glad that it worked. Did you have the bootloader locked? I am just trying to confirm I'm not crazy and that I was actually able to use it with a locked bootloader lol.
Yeah fastboot flashing was the gold standard way to avoid a brick back in the days before A/B partitions and Android Verified Boot came along but not so much now. This device in particular seems to be really fussy about fastboot flashing. I never managed to brick my Pixel 3 XL doing it but I have had to MSM multiple times trying to do fastboot commands and custom recoveries to flash custom ROMs on my OP9. I have got the process down tova science at this point lol. I just went back to stock and rooted it and I'm much happier with that than I was with custom ROMs that were plagued with issues.

Yes, you can use this to go back to OOS11. You shouldn't need to unlock the bootloader as this is an officially sanctioned downgrade package.
Since you're on Android 12 you need to install the local upgrade APK:.
https://oxygenos.oneplus.net/OPLocalUpdate_For_Android12.apk
Install that, push the downgrade zip to /sdcard/, open the newly installed system update app, hit the gear, and it should show you the zip file waiting.

There is a pinned post with them. This is C.48 for global and yes, you use the local upgrade but since you're on OOS11, you don't use the APK, use the update function in system settings and tap the gear and you'll see it.

Correct. Only the specific downgrade packages can downgrade. It will also wipe the device. There's no way around this. Once you are back on 11, you can do the local upgrade to flash the full C.48 ROM instead of having to do the whole OTA process (normal process is downgrade, OTA to 11.2.10.10 (it will say it's C.48 but have a file size of like 150MB but it's not), OTA to C.48 so you get to skip a step if you just use the full update package).

I don't know because I didn't get my phone until February so I went right to 11.2.10.10. It is important to update though because it gets you a working OS on both slots instead of just one.

Lol yeah. I'm not too happy with C.60 either. I really don't want to wipe my device and lose my Signal chats again.

I don't know what you aren't understanding but I'm tired of repeating myself. Read what I wrote and it answers your question.

Will try OOS11 for a while and see if it is worth updating to OOS12

Question ROM

I'm asking for opinions. What is the difference between ROM 13.0.19.0.SLCEUXM and xiaomi.eu_multi_XM12_V13.0.37.0.SLCCNXM

The first is stock rom intended for the European continent.
The second is a custom rom based on Chinese firmware with many modifications and latest developments.
Better than stock.
See here:https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/miui-13-stable-release.64441/
Change version to stock rom(EEA to Global, etc) or install Xiaomi EU rom requires bootloader to be unlocked.
It is better to install the first ROM or the second one. Bootloader is unlocked. And I have a second ROM installed. Should I reinstall it? And I have to format in TWRP? Thanks for the answers.

How did you install the rom and what rom do you want install?
I had 13.0.19.0.SLCEUXM there, but I formatted, apparently there is nothing there, the system says that it is not installed. Formatting doesn't work. I can only go to fastboot or TWRP. I do not know what to do. I would like to install such a ROM there, from which it will be possible to upgrade Android 13 when it is available. I don't know what to do. Thanks for the help.

For a stock rom I always use MIFLASH
Use Miflash:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/flash-tool-guide-use-xiaomi-flash-tool.4262425/
DONT RELOCK THE BOOTLOADER
EDIT:
With a stock rom and a bootloader unlocking the play will not be certified.
This problem does not exist with XIAOMI EU ROMS.
Important:
What's the version of your phone?Global,EEA,CHINESE?
Global

So,if you use Miflash you can re lock the bootloader.
I like to use TWRP, Magisk so I don't want to lock the bootloader. I need to learn how to do with MiFlash. I was able to install the rom via TWRP. But I had big problems with formatting the data. It seems to be fine now.

You want to be up to date with the latest rom so why did you install an EEA rom when there is a stable global beta in A13.
https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/miui/cupid/
You have problems with the TWRP and you want to root and use modules, if you are a beginner these are not really things to do, with the root an error and the phone is broken.
Prevention is better than cure.
