Hello there guys and sorry if this has been asked before.
1. I'm a complete beginner at rooting (have never rooted any device before but read a few threads) and wanted to ask you guys on how to purge google completly after rooting.
2. Could you please also tell me, since we are flashing the stock firmware, which software is included there? Is everything the same after rooting with the difference of beeing admin and having more oportunities to work on the device?
Thank you in advance.
If your a newb start on a popular older phone. There is little to no community around the tab s7

Hello, I am in need of a little help. I am a complete noob to android and have no idea really how the system works. I have a Samsung Galaxy S and have decided to root my phone for 2 reasons.. ap2sd and so I can install the lag fix. I have done a bit of reading and chosen the path I wish to take but would like some assurance and pointers. I am also unsure of: If I root my phone does this automatically mean that with a properly partitioned sd card that I can store apps 2 sd or do I still need to flash the handset with a new ROM and if so there I am stuck... I do not know where to begin with searching for the best ROM for me. Also I would like to know if after i've done this will the handset still be able to receive the official updates or will I just need to keep updating it myself!
Here is the rundown as far as i have got so far...
Samsung Galaxy S I9000/XXJF3 Updated!
All the programs for XP i need are downloaded (eg.net3.5/4, samsung drivers)
The root method I thought was best for me was that of TGA_Gunman
The lag fix I had chosen is by Chainfire
I have still to back up the original ROM with ClockWorkMod (Is this easy to do and if I need to use it will it bring me completely back to my original settings for warranty purposes, or is there other things I would need to do?)
Also could someone provide me with a link to the best noob proof SD partitioning method!!
Is there anything I'm missing here, or anything that could be done a better way!! Any and all pointers will be much appreciated....
P.s. I would be wanting to update to the official froyo update when it's available will this cause me problems and if so what must I do!
Thanks in advance
ANDROID NOOB
I don't know much about the galaxy s, but you might be better off asking this in the Galaxy S forum.

Hello all,
Just got my HTC Desire a couple of weeks ago, so I am a newbie in the Android world.
I understand there is a massive collection of threads regarding this, which is the reason I am posting a new one here as I am totally confused - I've read so many threads and articles on what and how to do it and got myself confused.
What I want to do is, back up the whole device as it is right now (factory state) so in case something goes wrong I will be able to restore everything back to normal in order to continue fearlessly trying out some custom ROMs.
If you guys could reply with some up to date links on what is the best way to do this and how to would be great.
Sorry for my question being similar to others but I need some clear steps I don't want to mess with the device blindfolded.
Thank you in advance.
Hello xda peeps,
This is my first post on the site so here's to hoping I don't break any rules .
I have recently upgraded to firmware 2.3.3 on my Samsung Galaxy S I9000 with above mentioned Kernel - XWJVN. I know there is a related post in the development section but I am yet to find a simplistic explanation of:
1. How I would firstly root the phone to access superuser rights.
2. What the most useful changes would be to make to my phone once it is rooted, considering I am still relatively noob.
3. Pretty much anything else I would need to know, ie. basic explanations of rooting, roms, flashing etc.
I apologise in advance if aforementioned have been answered to suit a newbie such as myself but I was not able to locate them anywhere on the site.
Any help would be apprecaited peeps.
Thanks
Aurnen
Hey everyone, I apologize in advance for my ignorance here. Mods, I searched for this to the best of my limited ability, and I don't think this exact thing is covered elsewhere (and I can't post in the Developers forums with a new account). If I'm mistaken and this is addressed, or if this is not the right place for this question, I apologize--please move it accordingly.
I have an ASUS ME127V which I rooted and installed Clockworkmod Recovery following the guides here in the Dev forums (this was about a year ago, so things may have changed in the interim).
Recently I've become aware of the SSL issues with Android 4.1.1, so I'd like to restore my tablet to stock and upgrade my Android version, but unfortunately I'm just coming up short every time I try to do this. I've tried the AMPC beta app that's linked to in the dev forum, but haven't managed to get it to work, partly because I'm not certain what other files I need.
Can anybody point me toward a simple step-by-step for unrooting/removing CWM/returning to stock?
Thanks for your help and patience.
Hi all,
Apologies if this seems like a simple question, but I'm having an issue with my Nokia 7 Plus and I'm not sure if anyone else has come across it. To the best of my knowledge, I have never rooted or attempted to root this phone. However Microsoft Intune Company Portal is telling me it's rooted (or partially rooted).
My question is whether there is a way to unroot that doesn't involve reflashing a stock rom? The only unroot instructions I have seen have been to flash stock roms, which I'm willing to try, just unsure if this will solve the problem since I'm running stock Android One, updated to the latest release.
Many thanks for any help or thoughts you may have!
EDIT: I just saw the questions/answers forum now... apologies, if someone could please move or delete this I would greatly appreciate it.
