Hi,
So the other day I wanted to install some email app, yes K9 and Fairmail, but the functionality and the UI of other wasn't that appealing to me. While Searching I found a port of Sony mail, installed it, was using it, when I suddenly thought why not scan it on virustotal, to my disappointment it had some bad stuff going on.
So I thought why not make own, tried to learn and finally got successful in porting some major Sony apps, namely: Email, Music, Album, Notes. Photo editor.
(Also ported movie creator, but didn't thought anyone would need it, if you guys need it I'll try to upload it too)
I made organised apps based on Android versions. So you won't have to go back and forth or download multiple versions.
Note: if email v16 or v17 don't allow you to add account, install v15 then upgrade.

Always loved the Sony email and Music Apps since my Xperia Z2 days, and up until last year I used unofficial ports of this apps post Z2 including the Lenovo K6 power and Redmi Note 9pro.
Just testing the Email and Music apps again on my Nokia 5.3 Android One (Android 11) device and they work fine with a few bugs in Music:
The music app UI Crashes when I try to favourite a song. Smart playlists ( Most played, Recently played & Fav) don't work and playing music on Gdrive.
Not had issues with the Email app so far.
As an android one user I'm really happy with these ports as they are wayyy better than the default options. Thank you.

Well for now, I'm in my final year of civil engineering degree, final year project, thesis, assignments. But will try after I my exams end, you can expect some delay. I hope I remember.

As I said to boymantis, I'm really busy for now, you may have noticed I wasn't active for quite sometime. I am having a busy and tight schedule in here. Will surely try when I get time. I hope I don't forget, I didn't thought about Samsung apps, because I have Samsung a31 at my disposal, but will try.

Thank you I love detailed review, I only wanted email for myself , but yes I like it more than Gmail. This one is so much better. Honestly I don't Google things, I try not to depend on Google so much.

Trying to use Email for Android 10 v15. I get a WebView authorization error attempting to sign in to Google. 0Auth.
I think it's related to Google new auth policy that took effect on October.
Does anybody know a workaround or can you fix the WebView auth portion so I can sign in with Google? Thanks so much

So this is a start i know its not the music player you are looking for but it is an improvement over the stock one.
Its the Google music app but it doesn't have that stuttery problem that the one that ships with the transformer has and it feels sooo much smoother
edit again after reboot it looses a reference and loops saying it cant find album art so don't use it
It will get just as glitchy as the stock one after 1 reboot and after 2 it will get smooth agin but it wont load the album art
The app you guys really want that looks awesome is the mediaplayers.apk which i cant get working right now but im asking around for help so we might be able to get it done soonish

I don't know much about Sony systems but take for instance MotoBlur. Most of the custom applications need to be on a Blur ROM to work, they are very much embedded in the system.

the fact that it is open sourced does not matter at all the fact is that i dont know how to get past a certain point in the porting process. there are no guides on how to do it and whenever i get a knowledgeable person to help me out they always leave before we are finished. So if someone who has knowledge about all of the steps and all of the troubleshooting could help me out once and help me trouble shoot this i will be able to do it on my own in the future which in turn would enrich the community.

Ok, cut the crap. Let me show you some numbers! We've compared SnapPea with another PC manager - MoboGenie which seems to be very popular recently, and as you know, we outperformed it, of course
Package size
The package size for SnapPea is only 4.5MB
The package size for Mobogenie is 30.4MB
Installation time
It takes only 2.94s to install SnapPea on your PC (here is a video to prove)
It takes 6.87s to install Mobogenie
Photo loading time (tested on a phone with 2000+ photos)
SnapPea takes 1.25s to load pictures
Mobogenie takes 8.16s
×a word here: we have made improvement to the logic of content loading, which means the photos won't be necessarily loading from the top to the bottom, instead, we load where your eyes are at first
Contacts loading time (tested on a phone with 3000+ contacts)
SnapPea takes 1.48s to load pictures
Mobogenie takes 57.75s
Memory usage
SnapPea uses only 70MB when in use and 24.7MB when not
Mobogenie uses up to 146MB when in use and 70MB when not
As windows users, you must know how it sucks when some software takes too much memory...
Enough for the numbers (sorry, can't help, too proud), if you do not know what a PC manager is. Here what it does:
Manage your contacts - import, export, edit, grouping etc
Text messages - send sms on PC
Manage your apps - install apks, will add export later
Manage your photos - import, export, delete, set as wallpaper etc
SD card manager - we have beautiful SD card manager interface!!!
Music&Video - import and export
Anyway, we understand that it is far from PERFECT, but we are willing to make it PERFECT. So if you're willing to help or simply criticize, you have all our ears. I should say i love this app and using it as my primary program for my work.. I used your app for about 1 year and still using it without any issue.
I just installed and used the beta version but just noticed that it has less functionality than the version 2.7 and also there is some bugs i found.
First one is the big one.. It cant even install apk files. Second one is, it cant show the device screen to capture screenshots like previous version.
there's so much it doesn't have compared to the latest stable version.
My main reason for this post is that i have a request for your team to make a new feature to the this very cool program.
My request is a simple drag n drop to install apk's and import photo & music & videos. it will save me SO MUCH time and makes using the app so much easy and enjoyable. also boosts the jobs i do with this program.

Can't install apk files
Seems like you have the same issue as Sam. Hmm.. there actually can be various reasons for this, such as if the file transfer was successful, or if SnapPea has the permission to install apks. You can try use the SD card manager to see if you can import of export files using SD card manager (which supports drag-and drop!!!)?
Doesn't show device screen
Actually I just used to SnapPea to take a screenshot, so I'm sure what went wrong here.. Did you make sure that your phone screen is on? Otherwise SnapPea will show only a black screen. It would be great if you can provide me more information here

We actually received this feature request a lot of times, we didn't have the time and manpower to do it for the PIM tools (photos, videos &music), but drag-and-drop now works in SD card manager. The new SD card manager is so much better than the last one Anyway, we will try to add this feature very soon, ok?

The player won't load [all] tags, says the song is only 00:00 long etc (look at screen#1)
Also, it gets stuck at loading the songs. Even the correct loaded ones.
Snappea loads the APK, sets to install and immediatly says it couldnt install, and after a second or 2 is force closes (screen#2)

Is it possible to backup messages? And import afterwards? Same for contacts? And apps? Sorry I haven't installed yet, if these features (or some) aren't implemented, are you guys considering it ?
And then, I'd like to help (besides bug finding) with translations. Do you need translations? I can do for Portuguese (PT-Pt).

Unfortunately, this work could be used for two fully opposite reasons, one of which is against the XDA rules, so I had no other choice but to close this thread (and remove links). I hope you understand me and sorry for the inconvenience.

Soon after, forced shuffle mode and limited number of skips were also introduced and I agree that there must be a reason to purchase Premium after all. Luckily, this restriction was not enabled on tablets, but a problem that appears is that far from all tablets are detected as ones - mainly the "smaller" ones. This [bug/miss-code] activates the restriction on your tablet, and as a fix was needed from either side, here was my solution.
This mod was created for all those "small tablets" that are incorrectly recognized so that you can use Spotify the way it was meant to be used.

Op pls can you upload this mode in a diff site cos mega is down. And secondly can you help me with little explanation as to how to install this or all I need is to just install the apk after the download. I haven't installed spotify b4 that's why . Thanks for the response in advance

MEGA is never down, it only needs the app for android if you want to download from phone. That's the reason I personally won't mirror.
About installing, you need to have "Unknown sources" enabled in your Security settings. Then just open the APK and install it as normal. If you still can't figure it out check YouTube for thousands of tutorials.

I've downloaded the apk for mega, and also tried to access the website. But it refuses to open the website or allow me to login to the app. Hence the servers are actually down. Op if possible can u post it on a different cloud?. Thank you for this amazingly brilliant apk!

Op u can as well check again, it's no longer a news that mega is down for now. You see people testifying. You can check up urself

I think it's a problem of apk version because on Google play it was written that the version varies with device.
So please If you give me your email, I'll send the last apk version of spotify compatible with gingerbread to you.

OP I could possibly kiss you all day and it wouldn't be enough. Worked like a charm.
Also the server seemed to be down only in parts around the world. So anyone being unable to connect simply use a VPN. Works perfectly with a VPN.
Though it is currently up again.

Absolutely not. I am not "hacking" Spotify and making it Premium-free and that will never be my aim. I am just making it possible to run in tablet mode on smaller tables.

We are already having it for our future plans. As we are getting requests from all round the world, at the moment we are only working on few important features which has more demand. So, it may take some more time.

For some reason the bass boost slider is disabled in the equalizer. In my native equalizer and other apps that have equalizers it works fine.
Using Xiaomi Mi A1 with stock Android 9.

I would like to have the apk file for the Music Player app installed on the Sony Walkman devices (A-Series, A100, NW-A100 series) to install on my Sony Xperia L3 Android phone just for the included cassette animation. I wonder if someone kind who can rip the apk so i can download it.
I understand it won't add any sound improvements and the music player app that i already have is almost identical and probably better for my phone since it was built specifically for phones but that cassette animation is what i want.
I am also aware of the Casse-o-player app which is brilliant but a little too much.
This is my first post so i apologize in advance if something is wrong.

I searched the interwebs for days and i think you are the first person on the entire internet to share those files! You just made internet history! Thanks again!
