TWRP is an open source, community project. TWRP development is done by roughly 4 people at this point. We also have a large support community with many people who are willing to answer questions and help people with their devices either through our IRC channel or on forums like xda-developers.
Team Win was originally formed to work on porting WiMAX to CM7 for the HTC EVO 4G. After our work on the EVO 4G we wanted to work on a project that would work on more devices than just the EVO 4G and we settled on working on a recovery. Today TWRP is the leading custom recovery for Android phones.

Yes. Just tried on my own. Data partition is unavailable and touch input glitches out sometimes after the screen times out. Just turn screen timeout off and you'll be fine.
To the dev: thanks for all the hard work

Team Win Recovery Project 3.0.2-0
This is for the Exynos SM-T377T and SM-T377W models only! Do not flash on Qualcomm models!
They have only been tested on the LTE models.
WARNING: Flashing a custom recovery to your device will trip the Knox warranty bit on your phone. Check with your mobile provider to see if they will still cover warranty on Knox bit triggered devices. If you understand this risk, continue on.
WHAT IS TWRP?
Oh come on, you know what it is - don't try to fool me!
In case you're serious, though...
Team Win Recovery Project is a custom recovery for Android devices.
It allows you to back up and restore your data, flash custom ROMs to your device, repair broken file systems, and root your device.
DOWNLOAD
You can find the device page here:
http://teamw.in/devices/samsunggalaxytabe80exynos.html
There is a download link there, as well as instructions on how to flash it.
I highly recommend using Odin to flash when possible.
You can find a zip containing Odin as well as a link to Samsung's Mobile drivers page here:
https://idlekernel.com/flash-tools/
FULL STEPS FOR OBTAINING ROOT
Extract Odin_3.10.7.zip to your computer.

Install Samsung Mobile Phone Drivers for Odin to find your device.
Download a .tar image of TWRP for gteslte.
Reboot your device into Download mode. To do this, select reboot from the power menu and hold the [Volume Down] + [Home] buttons while your device reboots.
Once you reach the Download mode warning screen, press [Volume Up] to continue.
Open Odin and place that TWRP tar file in the [AP] slot without touching any other options, then press [Start].
Hold [Volume Up] + [Home] buttons near the end of the flash, and keep holding them until you are in recovery.
At this point, you will reach the screen asking you if you want to allow system modifications.
You will want to swipe to allow, otherwise the OS will replace TWRP once you boot!
If you want to be rooted with SuperSU:
Download the latest SuperSU by Chainfire.
Without exiting TWRP, transfer the SuperSU zip to your device over MTP* and flash it using [Install] in TWRP.
Go to [Reboot] -> [System].
* MTP, known as Media Transfer Protocol, is the same way you transfer files from your PC to your device when booted into system.

i tried it, got TWRP on there, but when I run root checker, still says that I don't have root. I have the tmobile T377T version. Tried Flashing the super su beta as well, still doesn't say I have root, but the su icon is on the device now. What did I do wrong?

Here is what I ended doing when I had this problem ...
Download the latest STOCK FIRMWARE at this website or use SamFirm
Completely WIPE your device with TWRP (Format everything!)
Use ODIN 3.12.4 to install the STOCK FIRMWARE you downloaded above
Re-Install TWRP
Re-Do SuperSU SR4
That process fixed my same issue with root not sticking. Hope it works for you. Please make sure you have a good download of the STOCK FIRMWARE. If you don't, you have nothing to install after the wipe, there will be no nandroid backup, etc. You need ODIN and STOCK FIRMWARE to have this work!
Everything worked fine but when uninstalling bloatware i uninstalled something (can't remember the name) which i shouldn't have and now i get the error that there is no OS installed. Is there a way to fix this for the t377W?
Does anyone have stock ROM for T377T? I can't find it anywhere.

I got the dreaded custom binary blocked by FRP lock. I did something stupid. Turned bootloader lock on again as i didn't realize that it would block TWRP and the booting of the device. The root process and installation of TWRP went great. Thank you....
I rooted mine to play with xmodgames, but I can't get it to work unless I get a custom rom or kernel. That is where I can't find a rom or kernel for small t377t 6.0.1 as of right now
I tried flashing the tar file for TWRP and it fails in Odin. I have the Tab E T377T and it's currently soft bricked. Is there an Odin flashable recover file that will work. I can only find IMG file on TWRP webpage.
Solved. Created my own tar file and flashed with Odin. Rooted and working great!
All rooted, working good. Are there any roms out there yet?

I have the same question!
I have the SM-T377T, cpuz says I have ARM cortex-a7. So I assume this is Exynos as my s7 edge has exynos and comes up as cortex as well. Just want to confirm before flashing the incorrect img and soft bricking. Thanks in advance!

A: madOS, (M.A.D. Team OS), is a ROM based on pure A.O.S.P. with extended capabilities and customizations made by or merge/adapted by M.A.D. Team.
Q: Which recovery should I use for this ROM?
A: Latest M.A.D. TWRP 3.2.1-0 recovery
--> Check xda Download Section
Q: How do i flash new recovery ?
A:
1: You can flash it with a scatter file (LP rom layout)
2: You can simply flash it from the existing twrp recovery: Install> Install image> Select Oreo TWRP> Select "Recovery" as partition to flash.
Reboot to recovery to use new one
Q: Do i need to make full wipes?
A: YES, dont come crying at me, if you didn't .... ;p
Q: What is "full wipes" ?
A: To Wipe : Cache; System; DATA ...
Q: What should i use f2fs or ext4?
A: Both are supported, choose the one you desire
Q: is the Data connection issue of going to / from 4G still present?
A: nope data switchs pretty fast on our new RIL
2G>3G>4G | 4G>3G>2G pretty fast

A: Yup, We have working Theme Engine (madOS extras)
Q: Some translations are missing for my language, can I help?

Hi,
How to install ROM and gapps?
On TWRP or using flash?
Thank you
Should we come from the last 7.1.2 build (which has different partitions from stock)?
I really appreciate the work, but it's somewhat unflashable. New recovery is not stable, it gets stuck sometimes. Also I didn't manage to bring 8.1 to run with Gapps yet.
€: To provide somewhat more information: System crashes when running playstore.
€2: Full wipe made, advanced wipe and wiped every partition. It gets stuck coincidential, there's no proper reason for it, it got stuck once when I flashed MadOS itself, second time it got stuck flashing gapps, so I hope I get it run that night...
€3: Recovery freezes and after 30 seconds (approx) phone reboots.
€4: Nope, I don't get it to work, goddamnit. It freezes almost immediately after I enter my pin.
Help please...
I install new TRWP OREO on old twrp...
when reboot the phone shutoff and does nothing... i cant turn on...

Hold VOL+ and POWER when rebooting. Then you can choose to boot into TWRP. There you copy the new recovery image and then flash Oreo.

Yes, you only have to bring the recovery up again.
What you can also do is: Go back to 7.1 (flash it with SPflashtool) and then do the steps

Reflash 7.1 image using SPflashtool, I made a guide for this There you go. Then you can repeat.
Okay so 8.1 is not working at all... I get somewhat a weird failure on screen, the screen "sacks" down (main UI Activity just "fall down", status bar is still up) and then it freezes... Looking forward to get this fixed soon.
€: And the boot time is horrible, before I see a screen it's black for idk 2 Minutes
€3: Nvm lol, actually the phone is now unable to boot in System....
€4: Give it a try with "optional" F2FS File system step, let's see.
€5: Nope, didn't fix a thing. So well, at least I could capture this "sack down" thing:
The red line is where the display ends. As you can see the symbols are still in place. The blue line marks where the activity "sack down" and if this happens (which happens just on coincidence) nothing will happen any further, system's frozen and it reboots afterwards.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 10 (Q), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

Let me make the steps clear for you:
1) You must be on Android Pie (custom or stock ROM doesn't matter). If you're on Samsung Oreo (U2), upgrade to Samsung Pie first so the device bootloader will be upgraded to U4 or newer.
2) If you're on Samsung Pie, flash TWRP and do all the required steps (this includes flashing RMM bypass, flashing encryption disabler, and formatting your data). If you're already using custom ROM, just skip this step.
3) Go to TWRP. As far as I remember, you can boot directly to TWRP by pressing POWER + VOL UP when the device is off.
4) In TWRP, swipe to allow modifications. Go to wipe - advanced wipe - and select dalvik/ART, system, data, and cache - swipe to wipe. You may also want to wipe your internal/external storage to avoid dirty data from previous ROM and apps.
5) Go to install - select your ROM zip and flash it - also flash Magisk and GApps after that (if needed)
6) Reboot system. If asked to install TWRP system app, just unselect all checkboxes and press do not install.
7) You're done. First boot will take a while, be patient.
No, kernel is already shipped within the ROM itself. No ROM comes with no kernel (lol). Moreover, most custom kernels on the J4+ forum may not be compatible for Android 10 yet. The OP also stated do not flash custom kernel if you want to get his support. However, if you insisted, make sure to reflash Magisk (if installed before) after flashing custom kernel. Alternatively, flash the custom kernel first before flashing Magisk.
No, OrangeFox recovery is not tested. If you're having trouble flashing the ROM using OrangeFox, unpack TWRP tar file and flash the recovery.img as recovery inside OrangeFox. After reboot, you will have TWRP again as your recovery (press POWER + VOL UP, as stated earlier).
ROM screenshot: (Stock apps are actually there and just like in LOS 16, sorry I already uninstalled most of them)

Maybe you could try sending logcat when attempting voice (call?) on SIM 2. There is a handy app on Play Store called "Logcat Reader" to catch & filter logs easily, just press to round button to record the logs.
I currently can't do it since I don't have someone important to call.

Samsung's ims is heavily OneUI framework dependent. Fixing it is kinda miracle. I don't think it will be ever fixed. But if you contact me on telegram, we might try to fix it. Also trying to fix voice of second sim.

I already try it without success. I'll try again in a few hours but I'm feeling that dont works. I wonder what could be. I mean, I use ViperOneM9 on another HTC OneM9 and it's always works fine. No need to set APN or whatever. Even after flash/dirty flash, changing roms and then reisntall ViperOne... the signal always works perfect in this case.
Thank you for reply anyway

Or use only 6.16 and get there security updates. This version was really crazy in battery life. I remember also some little graphics glitches, mostly with recents, but in overall BEST custom rom for this device.

You're welcome, sir
This version has the encryption working perfectly, to avoid any problems, I ask you to use the recovery of the ROM itself

No, this function does not exist. Even because data partition isn't supposed to be mounted in a recovery anyways.
I ask that you make backups with an app that is convenient for you, something like Swift Backup or use Google's backup service (if you use GApps).

I'm already using Swift Backup for my apps but it's annoying that I need to reconfigure every rom settings when switching between roms
The recovery d2s checksum is not right.
When I give this command: heimdall flash --Recovery.img --no-reboot
I get the following error:
ERROR: Partition "Recovery" does not exist in the specified PIT.
Ending session...
Releasing device interface...
Any idea what can happen?

partition name is --RECOVERY, not --Recovery
the complete command is heimdall flash --RECOVERY recovery.img --no-reboot
Hope this helps
I've already load the crDroid Recovery, I want to be 100% sure of the next steps, as I understand:
1) Format data / factory reset
2) Format system partition
1 and 2 or only 1 ?

Both.
PlayStore does not connect to the Internet with: MindTheGapps-13.0.0-arm64-20221025_100653.zip
Using Core from here https://sourceforge.net/projects/nikgapps/files/Releases/NikGapps-T/28-Aug-2022/ works well
Thanks for the rom!
Thank you very much for this rom, it is amazing but I have a problem:
I can't mount the system as read/write to block some services.
can you check for this please??

Thank you very much for your amazing work.
crDroid the best rom ever
Is there a minimum firmware requirements to boot this rom ?
Now I'm on HVE5.
The NFC and fast charging are not working. Does anyone have them working?
Any idea?
请问当前版本相比之前的版本是续航有明显提升,还是刷屏时间有明显提升。另一个问题是是否有任何内核可用于提高设备的电池寿命
