6T McClaren A6013 starts encrypted with stock ROM - OnePlus 6 Questions & Answers

I was trying to revert to stock ROM and re-root.
I've tried installing the latest Oxygen stock ROM via TWRP after a format. After initial setup prompts the phone has started encrypted.
I've also tried installing via the fastboot stock ROM. Same thing happens.
Obviously, this doesn't allow me to install Magisk among other things.
Is there a way to prevent the phone from encrypting after a fresh stock ROM install?

Full steps on how to take OTA updates when rooted with Magisk, TWRP & Custom Kernel?

Full steps on how to take OTA updates when rooted with Magisk, TWRP & Custom Kernel?
I tried to take the 5.1.6 OTA by using these steps: https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/blob/master/docs/tips.md but it didn't work properly.
Could someone give me a list of the full steps that will keep Magisk, TWRP and Blu Spark Kernel installed? When I did the steps above it kept Magisk after rebooting, but didn't keep the custom kernel, so I rebooted to recovery to reinstall the kernel. However it was replaced with OxygenOS Recovery and it automatically wiped my device.
There is no way for you to take OTA with twrp and kernel persisted.
You need to understand how update works. Apparently, the update replaces your boot partition and your kernel is exactly implemented in the boot partition.
The changes will get overwritten. Thus, you will need to reinstall the kernel by yourself.
And as what I just mentioned, there is no specific recovery partition on A/B partitioning method. When boot partition get overwritten, the twrp will also be replaced by the stock recovery.

Can't update through OTA after flashing DM-Verity zip

Hi. As the title suggests, today I ran into an issue regarding OTA update.
Recently I unlocked my phone's bootloader to use GCam Mod, but first I had to enable camera2api which I did by temporarily booting PB Recovery from fastboot and flashed the disable dm_verity.zip and then the camera2apienable zip. I rebooted the phone and the temporary PB Recovery was replaced by stock xiaomi recovery.
All was fine until today I received an update to MIUI 10.2.1.0. I downloaded the OTA from the updater and let it reboot for installation. Almost half-way through the update, the procedure halted with an error "ERROR APPLYING UPDATE" in the stock recovery. I've retried several times, even redownloading the OTA but ut gives the same error everytime. The fine boots fine afterwards, not being updated.
Since this is my first Xiaomi phone, I'm seeking a method to correctly update my phone to the latest version without screwing it up or being ended up bricked.
Any guide as to what I shall do so to update my phone (e.g. re-enable dmverity; flashing stock ROM?) will be highly appreciated. TIA.
I don't know how to re enable DM verity. But I ws on EU beta rom. I decided to install global beta rom. Then I installed it with MiFlash. Now I'm using global beta rom, and updated it half an hour ago without problems with internal updater.
I checked status of phone with fastboot command, and it shows DM verity: True.
Download the official tgz update and flash via fastboot (or MiFlash with the chance of relocking your bootloader).

Does updating via the MiFlash Tool also resets the device i.e. deletes all my installed apps or is it more like a doing a dirty flash? I know there are 3 options while flashing but I just want to know what the keep data option means. Thanks.
You aren't attempting to flash a different variation (i.e. Stable>Dev -or- Euro>China), but at the same time, you've altered the system, so a dirty flash probably won't work out. If you want to remain unlocked with your fancy GCam, avoid MiFlash altogether. I suggest looking into a MiGlobe ROM. They keep up with Stable stock OTAs and customization is optional. Good luck

Ota and twrp

Hello guys, i have a question. What is the proper way of flashing miui updates from twrp. Atm i am on 10.2.2.0 but a new pie udpate has been released and i want to update to it. Also, do i need a certain recovery? I am on pitchblack atm.
I just don't want to brick my phone. Thanks in advance.
You can flash with no problem.
But after flash you lose twrp (it will be stock recovery). Need it reflash.
I successfully updated to pie, but a problem emerged. I can no longer flash magisk. Flashing magisk results in a bootloop and when i uninstall it from the recovery, the phone boots normally.
Any suggestions?
Did you flash that zip "lazyflasher"? For the dm verification thing.

Downgrade from 10.3.4 to 10.3.3

Hi, How do I downgrade from stock unrooted 10.3.4 to 10.3.3? Can I simply install the full OTA file via local upgrade? The reason is that I'd like to install Resurrection Rom which is needs 10.3.3 as base. Of course, I'll root the phone once it's on 10.3.3.
Also, the ROM page says I need to install OOS on both slots on TWRP. How do I do this? I'd assume that if the device on stock OOS from the start, that would mean that OOS is on both the slots. Isn't this so? Pls help
Back up your data, download the full version on oxygen updater, delete all in twrp so that 0000, connect to pc to add the 2.3gb OOS, go back to flash. It will flash OOS official both slots and you will go back to stock, you can root and twrp with tool all in one after back on stock. If that for someone reason doesn't work try the fast boot rom in tool all in one, recovery firmware, delete all option. I have done this option before to lock bootloader back

Can't unroot my phone without flashing stock ROM

Hi there. I installed Bliss ROM in my Mi Note 10 earlier this week, and it's doing great, except that I can't run a handful of important apps, because they can tell my phone is rooted. Now, I tried many ways to get rid of this issue (used the MagiskHide, tried to uninstall root within Magisk App..., flashed an uninstall zip via TWRP...). Nothing works. I'd really like to keep using the custom ROM, because Xiaomi's stock ROM sucks, so what can I do? Is there any possibility of unrooting the phone without flashing back the stock ROM?
Maybe help to reset the apps and or flash the boot.img from bliss
You use the uninstall option from the magisk app?
