It(unable to open loop device) is actually a compatiblity issue; check Post. Also this issue may have occurred due to some wrong procedure following; check Post comment #125.
Maybe, what i feel is that your phone is stuck in bootloop?
I would suggest you to flash the twrp again, and flash the custom rom after that again, with proper procedure. Be patient and chill. Your device is gonna be alright.
I would link a YouTube tutorial for flashing twrp on Poco X3, incase you need.
Also there is no official twrp available for Poco X3. Maybe the issue could be bc of that too. But hey, you can still try.

Alright but I don't have any issue other than not being able to root. Everything in my phone is working 100% fine. So I think I should let it be the way it is until I get some unskippable error. Thanks
Just curious: what version TWRP are you running?
it's 3.4.0

TY TY Thank you.!
U R D Best!
So i tried updating to 10.3.2 on a gm1917. Oxygen updater said it was okay. It wasnt. Now my phone is completely worthless. Managed to get back onto 10.3.1 but now my battery lasts roughly 2 hours and the phone is ALWAYS HOT. Before i could emulate gamecube games and it would be cool to the touch, now when i do the same its probably 1C shy of giving a temperature warning. How can i completely clean the slate and reinstall a fresh version of 10.3? Also how do you even do that? I remember my oneplus 5 i could wipe everything in twrp and install anything and it was the freshest install. This one has so much nonsense to it that i need to do hut it would be nice to use my phone for more than 30 minutes without looking for a charger.
You could use MSM Tool to do a "clean" flash of your phone.
I would try flashing Fulldowngrade_wipe_18821_190425_0253_user_fix_revision_MP_release.zip from Oneplus (Pie), then do the incremental updates.

I have never understood the msm tool. Is there a guide you have for it? I have it downloaded for 10.3 but it doesn't do anything.
I'll buy it off of you for parts. $100?
No really though, if you read through the forums, you can fix this.
Maybe this might help you https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7-pro/how-to/msm-tool-guac-t3934691
There is also a little manual about how to use it. Good luck.

If you come across the "little manual" please post a link. I find the MSMDownload Tool to be extremely unintuitive and confusing. Even on the page you refer to, Lucifer6 writes "Here are the instructions, kinda." LOL Emphasis on the "kinda."

Why don't you try flashing back to Pie before you go through MSM tool?

step 1: Download this

it's the file you're going to use to downgrade your phone using msmtool..
*note.. Dont worry,, msmtool.exe is already included in that humongous 2.5gb file
https://piunikaweb.com/2019/05/29/how-to-unbrick-oneplus-7-pro-using-msm-download-tool/
read the instruction there carefully on how to use the file you've downloaded

Hey everyone,
Im trying to flash twrp and root my Note 20 Ultra (N985F-D) but I cant seem to find any tutorials that give clear instructions for this specific device variant. If anyone has proper instructions with links or even a video tutorial that would be great.
I appreciate you help
Same here. N985F. Bricked tf out my phone yesterday trying so many different methods. There's literally nothing out there. I spent all night looking. Very frustrating
If I find anything I will keep u in the loop. I'm really trying to find something. Anything

Not N985F on android 11... already tried flashing his software and plenty of others last night. Did NOT work. If you were able to flash successfully, providing you have THE SAME EXACT MODEL and OS ... please feel free to share screenshots and/or pics.

I am showing you a Custom Rom, Dr.Ketan ROM which I installed through TWRP.
If you have TWRP... lmk. And your build is different from mine. So IF.... IF TWRP worked for you on your build, then I'd have to tweak it somehow for mine. But showing me this doesn't show me anything but the fact that you're rooted. And root is super easy....

I'm not an expert here... but I have years of experience flashing phones and bricking them too. So I know if it's not the same Model and software build.. there's a good chance it won't work. My phone is from Panama.... I just don't wanna brick my phone again flashing something that's not meant for my software build or exact model.
Hi!
I'm having problems with the OTA updates on my phone, they won't show up and I guess I'll have to try and install them manually.
My current MIUI version is: 12.0.3.0 (QJKEUXM) (I understand that it's an old verison of the EU rom?)
* The thing is, I'm struggeling to find the incremental updates that I would need to do so. I can only find the latest, full rom file.
* When I do find it, can I update to the latest version right away or do I need to update it in a certain order?
* Is it possible to use the options in the update view (pictures) to install the updates? (I'd preferably avoid TWRP etc if possible.)

Install the latest update with ota. Some users got stuck after upgrades, the safest solution are Miflash or TWRP, but this requires unlocking the phone.
Thanks for the reply!
But how am I supposed to install them via OTA when they won't show up?
(BTW, nice with a fellow MotoGP fan ^^ )
