Will we see roms, kernels and other fun things being developed for s10e snapdragon or is it too old for development like a new device?

Hello i have a Galaxy S6 and i want to know why all the people are talking about no support in CM12 for an Exynos device,
i had a Galaxy S3 and is Exynos too, it has fully functional support for CM12.
The S6 is still a new device, and devs need their time to develop ROMs based on a new SoC.
Just give it time. There will be a stable CM12 ROM for the S6 soon.
As for the exynos specific part. Devs have to reverse engineer it to see how it works since Samsung is pretty against supporting modding. They what phone devs are as Nintendo is to other console creators.
Hi all,
I have got a few questions for a GALAXY S7 owners
I havent got time for customizing again everything from my LG G2 ROM, and I guess original ROM from S7 will be slower and slower with time, even on such a new phone like S7. So it would be great to have same ROM, I mean CM13.
1. Which ROM is the best for S7? Have we got stable CyanogenMod ? with working original camera and dual pixel feature ?
1.1 Is there any poll on the forum/ internet with votes which ROM is the best? That would be very good illustration what is the best choice.
2. exynos and snapdragon - which version should I buy here in UK?
3. Is ROOT a problem for a galaxy s7? I will need to root my phone definitely.
4. What should I consider when buying, the new one and used one ?
My LG G2 is really super fast with CM13 ROM + xposed and tweaks, but I am running out with space and there is no microsd slot + phone is plastic, galaxy has got dual pixel and f 1.7 lens which is much better.
I am still not sure if shold I update just because of this 3 points (space, plastic and camera).
Thanks for help:good:
anything ?
1,1.1 Head over to the development forum for roms. Usually the threads with most replies and views are an indication of which roms are most popular and that have good dev support. No CyanogenMod for this phone.
2,3. You can only get root with Exynos phones at this stage
Hey all.
I have looked around, and call me clueless, but I still don't understand if there are or what ROMs are floating around for the snapdragon version of the S7. Does anyone know if there are any? And if so, is there a single, more popular one that is more likely to work well?
And if someone wanted to start development for building a Nougat build, where would one start?
Thanks for any help!

I wonder why Snapdragon variants have no AOSP ROMs. Before S7 Exynos based devices have no community support.
Help required for a newby:
I bought a Galaxy SM G9500 (Snapdragon) in Thailand and it's not compatible with Aussie apps or app store. (Even Samsung switch)
Is there a standard Aussie ROM out there??
I've never rooted a phone before so am a bit nervous as you can imagine!!

I did find this XDA post 'TWRP is Now Available for the Snapdragon Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+'
Any idea if this is what I'm looking for?

Okay il just give you the important details, the snapdragon variant, which you have has a locked boot loader which means you are very limited on what you can do, twrp will not work, don't even try it, you will mess your phone up.
Root is available but there are bugs, such the phone not charging beyond 80%.
Because of those above things, rom development for the snapdragon variant is almost non existent, and a lot of that is down to having a snapdragon version.
I'm also a bit surprised there are next to no development activity (ROMs) for the Snapdragon variant. It seems like Exynos is getting all the love.
I was ' ' this close to pulling the trigger on a G9500 (or even N9500) but have now noticed there is just about no community support for these. :crying:
Worth noting the Exynos 8895 doesn't have a NPU whereas the Snapdragon does (Hexagon DSP). Something becoming much more important as onboard AI takes a larger role.
List of device variants
In other news: It's also a bit odd that the S8 and S8+ landing pages have incorrect/incomplete device descriptions.
Yes, it's frustrating that poor old Snapdragon is not getting the same attention!
Judging by your your Modelnumber you should have the Chinese Version with unlocked bootloader. So it seems that you can flash different Chinese and Hong Kong Firmwares, some of them apparently having the Playstore. It sounds pretty complicated and is a lot to read: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/samsung-galaxy-s8--s8-cross-device-development/recovery-twrp-galaxy-s8-s8-snapdragon-t3636718
Good luck :good:

Wow, thank you I'll check it out.
Ok, what phone should I purchase? As for the details:
>good battery
>Snapdragon SoC (heard that Helios sucks)
>SD card
>3.5 jack
>400 $ max
>hope it is available in Europe (Romania)
>and ofc, has/will have custom ROM community
What should I pick between Samsung A70 or Pocofone F1? A70 is frustratingly locked behind all those Samsung stuff and I wanted a vanilla Android experience, but AMOLED and dual dedicated SIM seems good.
