Question How to quickly change (active) data SIM? - Motorola Moto G100 / Edge S

Hey guys,
I´m commuting between Switzerland and Germany and used OnePlus devices for years. On OnePlus you can comfortably change active SIM card with a tile in quick settings (pull down notification bar, where you´ve got WiFi, BT, GPS and so on). I´m now looking for an opportunity to quickly change SIM slots on my Moto G100 instead of struggling through menus. Any idea how to do so?
Cheers,
kischde

I'm having the same problem.

I'm having the same problem. Long pressing "data" toggle is the fastest way I've found, but I've also started using Macrodroid to automatically open the menu under condition geofence "reached work" or under contidion "No internet connection". It doesn't change the setting directly but it brings you to where it's just one tap.

1. Download NOVA LAUNCHER
2. In your homescreen, open widget picker
3. Drag Nova Launcher "activities" widget to homescreen
4. Go to Settings > Network & Internet
5. Uninstall Nova launcher. You don't need Nova launcher to keep the widget settings shortcut.

I added this feature in Lineage Modded

Any way to "install" that feature on generic LineageOS? OnePlus f...ed up badly with their Android 11 update, so I am back at custom rom'ing... Everything great so far, but I miss the quickly-switch-data-sim badly.

Customise quick settings, data on / off ?

I'm on a low end PAYG tariff so manually turn data on / off over 3g. The Moto G doesn't seem to have a quick way of doing this and quick settings don't appear to be customisable... ? Unless anyone knows different ?
Press the signal icon in quick settings.

Change to Nova or Apex launcher....

stock android is like that on every phone
you must use power toggles from play store, or exposed framework and some modules

This takes you to the menu to then toggle it..... I've come from a HTC where you can just toggle via the icon in quick settings since my first android back in the day HTC Legend. I guess thats part of Sense and I'll need to use a 3rd party app. It just feels like such a basic feature though coming from a non-stock android experience.
Swipe with two fingers from the top then tap the network button(middle one), then tap "mobile data"
Thanks all
You could also use widgetsoid from the playstore.
One tap customisable toggles in notification area.
you could also use gravitybox together with xposed to override system default toggle behavior for some toggles (wifi, bt, data, etc)

[Completed] How to switch off pull-down notification menu

Hello,
I bought a smartphone (Coolpad Modena 2) with android 6.0 onboard for my grandma. I installed a launcher made espetially for seniors. It works really well. All buttons are big, all extra apps are blocked. But there are 2 things that bother me.
1. With a swipe down the screen you can open the notification dropdown menu. From there, you can easily access all phone settings. It makes it pretty easy to mess something up. It there a way to switch off the pulldown menu?
2. With a swipe up the screen the preinstalled ROM shows up a handy menu with settings like aeroplane mode, wifi on/of, priority mode. It looks really similar to the iOS control center. Again - it makes it way too easy for my grandmother to turn aeroplane mode on for example.
I was searching for a solution all day but didn't find anything. Maybe there is a custom ROM where you can disable this kind of menus? Maybe there is an other solution?
I will be glad for any help !

Greetings and welcome to assist. I'm not sure if you can disable it with a custom rom or root but you could try nova launcher. You can resize the icons with it and customize allmost all the gestures. It may be a bit more complicated to set up but when done should do the trick
Good Luck

Question - Maintain DRM keys + Remove NFC icon

I'm hoping this is a quick simple question (which has probably been asked many times before!)
With Android 7 being rolled out I was going to use this as a time to change my phone region (see below for why)
Am I correct that if i follow the updating process here xperiablog.net/2016/03/12/install-xperia-marshmallow-using-flashtool-and-xperifirm-guide it will preserve DRM keys and do nothing adverse to the phone?
I am looking to change the region as my SG firmware has an always on NFC icon next to the clock and there is no option to turn it off.
At the moment RU, MY, VN firmware files are available xpericheck.com/device/E6683
Does anyone know which files do not have an always on NFC icon?
Thanks in advance!
i installed Customised Australia and it doesn't have NFC icon next to clock, and you also can bring down quick settings and hold down settings icon and it will start spinning and it will activate system ui tuner, there you can remove NFC icon.
Thanks, the ui tuner is new to me.
Unfortunately there is no NFC selection there either. I think some regions dont get the option to turn it off!
I would go with Australia from what you said but it isnt an option on the Z5 Dual Sim
I tried this myself so will post answers
The MY firmware does have the always on NFC icon
The RU firmware does not
Also noted was that MY firmware can select LTE only connections. RU cannot (Must me LTE/UTMS etc...)
MY shows LTE signal bars
RU shows 4G signal bars
For the NFC icon just check this thread!

Found a firmware with the NFC icon removed though!

Remove date/weather widget?

Hi!
Just bought the OnePlus 6. A couple of questions..
- Is it not possible to remove the date/weather widget on the home screen? Or atleast change the weather provider?
- When swiping down from top where you turn on and off wifi, bluetooth and so on, is it not possible to show the names of the different settings? They only show when you swipe further down.
Hope someone can clarify!
1st
Yes you can remove weather widget from homescreen long press weather widget then remove appear on top of screen drag widget to remove.
2nd
Top area where wifi wifi & Bluetooth turn on & off is called quick settings
You can only add those tiles in quick setting which available by app developers or device manufacturer if you want to add more tiles root your device & maybe xpose & magisk module available for tiles i am not sure about that.
You can add more tiles to quick settings installing tiles from Google store. So much possibilities. You don't need xpose.

[GUIDE] Hiding status bar icons

As you know, with the new Display Notch, the status bar lost quite a bit of real estate, in order to have enough space for new apps to display useful information here's how you disable some of the default status bar icons!
You don't need root, just adb so I'l be assuming you know how to use it, there are plenty of tutorials all over the forum about it.
The command you want to use to disable, for example, the Bluetooth and WiFi icons:
Code:
adb shell settings put secure icon_blacklist bluetooth, wifi
The list of config_statusBarIcons (the list of possible icons you can disable) that I could find for Huawei are:
Code:
managed_profile
ime
sync_failing
sync_active
cast
location
bluetooth
powersavingmode
earphone
nfc
tty
speakerphone
zen
mute
volume
wifi
cdma_eri
data_connection
phone_evdo_signal
phone_signal
battery
alarm_clock
secure
clock
volte_call
eyes_protect
Don't forget to reboot the phone after that command:
Code:
adb reboot
This is the settings I use:
Code:
adb shell settings put secure icon_blacklist bluetooth,nfc,eyes_protect,alarm_clock
Note: You can also use System UI Tuner but it only seems to work for the WiFi and Carrier Name
Enjoy!
How it looks (Stock Android 8.1, EMUI 8.1, Microsoft Launcher):
Excellent post, I have used the command tonight works well.....
But I am thinking I would like to turn the WIFI Icon back on, how do I reset the status bar ?
Also do you have the command for "do not disturb" ?

I'm running a non EMUI ROM. All the icons are usually on the right, the ROM has the ability to move the clock to the left / center but nothing else.
Id prefer the clock on the right on it's own.
So my question, do you know what content needs to be changed in order to re-order the icons to the different locations on the status bar??
Cheers
My current status bar
SystemUI tuner can hide most icons, just use the auto detect option. And reboot after toggling. VPN which I don't see on your list can be hidden too
Okay, great news, I had taken off various icons a couple of days ago, great , but I had taken one off one I wish I had kept, but also needed to remove another one.........anyway I used the ADB command and only entered the one icon in the list I wanted to remove and then ADB rebooted.....to my surprise all my icons came back on, all except the one I had added to my remove list, so basically the line of code written changed to only remove one icon as opposed to remove all previous icons and then one icon I had just added........SO if you are not happy with your choices, simply re do the process and add the icons you would like to be removed and reboot, the Icons removed will be just the ones on the list you just made and any you wish you had not removed will be returned.......
I cant hide the clock for some reason.
Thanks for the tip. Hate the stock layout. Unfortunately I can't get the HD call icon (volte_call) to disable but the others I wanted to remove are gone (BT, Nfc, eyes protect)
Edit:Suddenly the HD calls icon has left the status bar but I haven't re-entered the adb command as to try again. It just disappeared a few days later. Funny thing is the green dial icon in the dialer no longer shows HD either.
Anybody else try to remove volte_call? Did it work for you and did the green dial icon change also? Can't figure out if it's the adb command or my service provider since wife's S7 still showing HD calls(volte).

Did you ever figure this out?
It is really stupid having an "HD" icon displayed 24/7. But I wanna keep the volte function on.

No, the command didn't work. Although my HD notification did disappear for about a month only because it was turned off by my provider for some reason. It was nice not having the HD notification but noticed that it just leaves a blank spot on the status bar. Notifications didn't "shift" over.

That is double annoying. Thanks for the reply!
Wish we could simply select what we want cluttering the space of notifications, since we have the notch covering most of it.

Just reenter the same command, it'll bring all the icons back. Then enter the command again removing the icons you don't want showing.
@Horayken It's called Weather Live by Apalon Apps, I really like it, have been using it for quite some years and all the features I need in a weather app are there, plus the widget looks really nice!
Instead of hiding, is there any possibility to put icons in 2 rows?
