Are you sure of your answer?
Poco F2 pro is the global version of the K30 pro china. 2 devices have the same hardware and can use the same global rom

Sorry that the answer does not suit you but it is like that. Access to bands is blocked by Xiaomi. If it were possible, we would all have bought the K30 pro which is cheaper.

https://cacombos.com/device/M2004J11G Good also check Poco F2 support also EN_DC and CA combinations used on your country. I don't have K30 Pro combinations on my site but global model often better.
Combinations are defined to modem firmware and compiled. There is no way change combinations without recompile modem firmware.

Xiaomi Mi 4

Does anyone know if this Mi 4 or any of the other phones work out of box in canada?
If not, is there a way to get it working on LTE ?
THanks,
Only LTE bands it has out of the box are 1,3 and 41. I am on AT&T in US and no LTE. Edited NV values successfully but no additional LTE bands were enabled.

That is unfortunate to hear, what is the fastest connectivity you're getting?
I'm on the AT&T equivalent in Canada known as Rogers.
About 7MB/S which is terrible. I like MIUI and this device is nice quality. Dare I say it has the feel of an iPhone but is loaded with Android so the best of both worlds (I personally detest the closed source IOS). So I'm suffering with no LTE just to use the MI4 but I've got a ZTE Axon for a backup if I need a LTE compatible device. Always near WIFI so it's not often. I will say, no dropped calls or texts with it and I've had it a couple weeks. Call quality is excellent.
Best you can get is 3G or H+. Also in Canada on Fido
dont buy the chinese LTE edition. i hear that does not even do 3g. the wcdma (w) variant does 3g/H+

I have the China Union LTE model and it has 3G on AT&T.
I am not doubting you. But there are 2 LTE variants.

AT&T V10 (H900) has no band 17 support?????

I noticed GSM arena posted some variant specific specs for the V10. They stated that the H900 didn't have band 17 LTE, I thought this couldn't be possible. I checked AT&T's website, sure enough, no band 17. It has the lesser used band 29 (also 700mhz). Can anyone explain why this is? Where i live only band 17 LTE is available, so I hesitate to get the V10. Since both B17 and B29 are 700mhz, would the V10 be able to connect to band B17?
Here it is, straight from AT&T's website:

I made a post about this if you want to check it out. The short and sweet of it is that bands 12 and 17 are being merged, and they were always on the same frequency from the start, so having both bands is redundant. In other words, since band 12 is available, band 17 is as well, as confirmed by another user for the T-Mobile variant (but it still applies for the AT&T variant).
And if you're really skeptical, don't forget that you are entitled to a buyer's remorse in which the carrier must refund your purchase.

Thanks for the explanation ubergeek. So this means that even an older phone that only supported B17 will now work on, for example, t-mobiles band 12? Very cool!

An older phone that supports B12 can support B17 but only at the specified frequencies it's set at.
Are all variants the same lte band support?

5G or dual 4G

Anybody encounter this? When I try to select 5G as preferred network. It says I have to disable dual 4G which effectively made the phone single sim... I wonder if other phones are like this as well. This could be due to 5G is still NSA now which means phone has to connect to both 4G and 5G at the same time.

I think this phone is not advertised as dual 5G, check Redmi 10x pro 5g, it says first dual 5G phone.
I got my Poco today and was surprised at this. I assumed I could have my data SIM set to 5g if available and my other to be still available...
This is stupid, and obviously a software limitation since other phones with the same cpu and modem can activate both sims simultaneously with 5g on one of them. Poco should fix this issue with a software update.

I'm not expecting it to be dual 5G.i just want the other sim to work when I activate 5G on the other one. At least 4G on the other sim will be good.

That is not true, the Snapdragon 865 can use 2x 4G or 1x 5G, only the new MediaTek can run both with 5G (800, 820 and 1000).

On the user manual it says that the Dual SIM with a sim in 5G will be activated with future updates. Do you know anything about the activation date?

Nobody knows that... For now only few Xiaomi devices are capable to work on dual 5G standby (Mi 10 Lite 5G and Redmi 10x 5G as I know).
But that was the same problem in the beginning with dual 4G... On most devices this has been enabled with update...

Poco F2 Pro or K30 Pro/Zoom for Vodafone UK?

hi guys & gals,
currently using poco f1 and tempted to upgrade but was wondering from any vodafone uk users, which would you recommend? My sim is 5G enabled but currently using 4G. I know Band 20 (800) is missing from the K30 pro but have any users had any issues with 4G reception? I found a price of £370 for the K30 pro (8/128) or the pro zoom at £422. tbh i dont really use the camera much so missing OIS is not that important.
I would check what 5g band Vodafone uses. Specially if you want to use 5g. You may have problems with 4g cause Vodafone uses bands are missing from the k30 pro.
I think if you would have a different provider, probably wouldn't even notice the missing bands but Vodafone is the most affected on this.
On the poco however only supports 2 5g bands. I would do my research before purchasing if I was you. GL

Get the Poco f2 pro instead of k30 pro, it has band 20
It's basically the same phone, except network bands. Got mine from AliExpress for 420 but now it's about 380£. It works fine with EE
According to this site https://kenstechtips.com/index.php/uk-network-frequency-bands Vodafone uses N78 which the Poco f2 pro has.

K30 Pro Zoom is better with OIS and same price than POCO F2. I dont have problems using it without band 20 in Spain, I have very good 4g signal and I use same bands than vodafone UK (B1, B3, B7). Also If you have 5g enabled I would prefer K30 Pro because it have more 5g bands than POCO F2 and, if im not wrong, next year companies will add band 1 (n1) support to 5g and only chinese K30 Pro have it:

I have Poco F2 Pro on Vodafone (Voxi) in the UK, no problem with 4G - same reception as my pixel 3a. I don't have a 5G plan though so can't comment on that.
so been playing around with network signal info for the past few days, even though 4g band 1 was being used (80%), it would still fallback to band 20. as i also travel to thailand quite regularly, 5g band n41 would have been useful so looks like the f2 seems to be the one. the zoom would have been nicer tho
took the plunge and got the poco 8gb for £325.99, just waiting on dhl

Question Abysmal LTE experience

I got the phone yesterday and LTE is so bad. It is unusable to the point there's no internet connection at all.
I noticed its LTE bands kept on changing from 1 and 8. It stays at 8 for a couple of minutes where there is no internet connection.
When it switches to band 1, the connection is back and speeds are normal but the band goes back to 8 after couple of seconds.
I'm aware that Poco X3 NFC also has an LTE issue, will a software update fix this issue? Thanks.
Edit: My previous phone was a Note 8 Pro with the same sim card and same location with no LTE problems.

I inserted the sim card back to my old phone and LTE works fine.
There are different LTE frequencies. Some models may use different frequencies that POCO X3 Pro doesn't use...
And that may be causing issues - not because the phone itself, but because the LTE provider.
Isn't something easy to check, try see around the area if there is any "spots" of issues and contact other people in the same area to see if there are some issues around.
From POCO itself, i don't have any issue with the connection and i use it all day long (may be only my case, but is something)

Okay, I might also try to use a different carrier to verify if it's an operator issue. Thanks for responding.

Oh I see... That might explain things since I'm located in the US. I believe your LTE experience/performance is tied to the carrier you use and if the bands on the device are compatible w/ their service.
Just an update, a temporary fix I did is I disabled all LTE bands except for band 1 and seems to be working as it should it be.

I took mine today and realized the same problem. It also had a Redmi Note 8 Pro that worked normal. Even with VoLTE that I couldn't get on the Poco X3 Pro. How did you change the bands? Obs. I'm from Brazil.
I experienced the same thing in Hungary. I use 2 pieces of sim, the data sim if it is in slot 2 does not use the band that is optimal for us. It see, but you won’t be willing to join it if you have better signal strength. Placing the card in the Sim1 slot goes flawlessly. Try sim1-sim2 swap. -Sorry for my English-

Connect to b3 band only, it seems that b20 has a much better field strength.
I tried to flash another modem firmware anyway, it didn't work.
In europe I have 3CC B3+B1+B7 on Poco X3 Pro or any other devices also works B20.
Poco X3 Pro with X24 Give me record for this cell tower.
Signal is great very similar to Huawei 5G CPE Pro 2 with uses Balong 5000.

Hi sorry for the late reply, the issue went back after a week I locked the bands. I ended up installing a custom ROM (crDroid) and it fixed it. Receiving messages are now instantaneous and LTE is working flawlessly.
My POCO X3 pro is back from repair, network issues. All they did was update the software. Today I bought a second sim card, in my country it needs to be registered for someone to work. Such a starter.
Since the second card was inserted, the network problems have completely disappeared. I emphasize that the second card still does not work, it is inserted and only has a range bar. I am waiting for confirmation of registration of this SIM card
