Doogee S96 Pro wireless charge not working - General Topics

The phone is rugged, with a fairly thick layer of Aluminum in the cover. However it's enabled for wireless charging (10W), as stated from the manufacturer.
Online, I see many people succesfully charge it through wireless pad.
However, I've tried 5 different brands and all of them are not working.
Usually something is detected (the led blink) but it's often related with something like "device not detected".
I tried with a factory reset but it's not working. any idea on why it might not work?
Is it maybe a software bug? I've root and magisk, is there something at kernel level it worths trying?
Thank for the suggestions, regards.
Giulio

I have the same problem. Wireless charge starts, then after 10 seconds or so, it stops charging. Have tried this with 2 different pads, and am using a 2 Amp adapter.

Here there is the same problem

I gave up on wireless charging, been using the cable for some time now *sigh* Otherwise, pretty good phone, had it for some time now with no other issues.

OK. You are lucky. My phone also came with defective USB. I think Doogee is not reliable at all.

Very strange charging problem!

Ok, first a little background on this issue...
After having my S3 for about 13-14 months I started having charging issues. The charging port was very "loose" and I had to make sure my charger cable was in just right to get my phone to charge. This was annoying, however was out of warranty and didn't want to pay vzw for an insurance claim. This got worse, and eventually I noticed my phone would only charge with 1 specific usb cable, 1 specific wall charger, and 1 specific car charger.
Well, I finally called Samsung and explained the situation to them and they had me chip my phone to them and they would repair it, free of charge. When they had it, they replaced the charging port, the headphone jack, and the screen. I received the phone back after couple weeks, super excited, and immediately charged it up with the cable I had next to my bed. New charging port felt perfect, nice snug fit, etc... Well, after a few days i hooked it up with the original usb cable that came with the phone, nothing happened. So i started messing around and realized that the only usb cables that will charge my phone are Motorola brand cables! At least the 2 cables I have work, and not a single other cable I've tried works! This includes stock Samsung cable, many cheap 3rd party cables, other friend's S3 cables, none work. Also, I have this cheap car charger that is the type you plug a USB cable into that works, however any other car charger I've tried does not work either.
Also, when i say the cables won't charge my phone, it also won't connect the phone to a PC. They do absolutely nothing.
Does anyone have ANY idea why this is happening?!?! It was an issue before Samsung repaired my phone, they replaced the charging port, but I still have this issue!! I can send it back to Samsung for them to look at it again, however my backup phone, a Razr Maxx, just died also. Seems like the battery went dead and now I can't get it to charge, but that's another issue.
So, any ideas?!

What rom/kernal
It doesn't matter. It does this when it is totally stock and rooted. Right now I'm not rooted or anything because it looks like it may be going back to Samsung again.

I think the smart charging circuit may be messed up
Really? How would that cause the phone to not work with any cable except a certain brand?? I'm just really curious and this is driving me insane!!

I would say you are putting mechanical stress on the charging port. This could be from some misaligned or mis-made cable or somehow pressing or pulling the charge cable when its connected. I've never seen this reported by anyone else, but the mechanical connections are not indestructible. If it were a common symptom with 100 million S3s having been sold, there would be a firestorm of complaints.
I have a similar issue. I'm not sure if it's the device or the ROM (CM nightlies).
Certain cables force the screen to turn back on, which means I get negative charge because the screen burns more than the charger is capable of supplying. Other cables are fine. I'm still looking for the pattern, it's super annoying and causes me to have to turn my phone off completely at times so as not to lose my battery altogether. I'm still trying to solve this, any help would be appreciated.

Further info- it's not the cable, it's the converter at the end. I think it has to do with amperage of the charger- if I use the stock samsung one I'm good, it's putting out 1.0A. If I use others that are fewer amps (like 700 mA) it's unpredictable. I suspect a kernel thing, I might download different kernels to play with it.

Always use chargers that is 1 A - 2A the circuit controls most of the charging regulating amps and voltage
Yes, I agree about using good chargers, but my phone wasn't always this way. It used to charge with anything, but no longer.
I enabled fast charge on Imosyen's lean kernel. That might have made a difference, but I'm not positive yet.

[Q] Doesn't always fast charge?

Does anyone else have an issue with fast charging? I am using the original cable/charger that came in the box and I have to unplug/replug it in anywhere from 2-6 times for it to register as fast charging, sometimes more. I have also tried using the charger that came with my Note 4, same issue. Tried using a different wall outlet, same issue. I noticed a thread on Android Central references this same issue but as that is not purely T-Mobile brands, it's hard to gauge where the issue comes from.
Anyone else experiencing this?
If the usb isn't fully plugged in to the adapter, it won't fast charge. I haven't had any issues fast charging with the included charger or the note 4 charger.

I'm currently running ForeverLoco's ROM but I was running stock (both BOH4/BOH6) before recently flashing FL's ROM and the issue still happened. I'm starting to think it was a bad batch of devices sent to T-Mobile from what I am reading on Android Central forums. Was hoping someone here would have a suggestion for a fix but I might just have to take in and replace it since I'm still within the 14 day window.
Get a new one bro. Take it back and plug it in the store. Test it.

I have this issue but far less common for it to annoy me. Usually when I plug in our check my notification to make sure fast charging is enabled. My s6
Charger doesn't fast charge at all (same model number and same everything). The original charger fast charges 95% of the time. Yesterday was only the 2nd time I had to reseating the charger after I noticed I was still on 17% after 15min. And didn't see the fast charge notification.
Could be for me what someone else said about not plugging in all the way as it happens once in a blue but idk. My s6 had the same problem if it even is a problem.

This normal. The note 5 does not fast charge while the screen is On specially if the phone is being used... Is a safety precaution which is already answered by Samsung. I also had this issued and I was worried..

This is a known issue with the update to 5ERA1. I had the exact same thing happen to mine. Phone will only do fast wireless. My charging port is emaculate. My wife just updated to 5ERA1 and her note 5 is glitching like crazy.
Wait, i have the same thing, but this is because of the cable or charger. I saw it a couple of weeks ago and now it happens a lot, so, when i connect my phone and its not fast charging, i just unplug the cable, wiggle it a bit and connect back. It doesnt work all the time so i might repeat this 2-3 time and in the end its fast charging. When i tried another good cable, it was fast charging all the time so before buying a new phone. try another good cable hope thats your problem

Honor 8 Charging/USB Connection Issue

Currently i am dealing with an issue with my Honor 8 which deals with fast charging and connecting the device to a PC. My device takes between 5-8 hours to charge, i've also tried another Honor 8 USB Type C charger which belongs to my friend. And It's still not working. It also won't connect to any PC. It always shows that the device is not recognizable and or has malfunctioned. Funny thing is that i sent it in for a Warranty Repair which once i got back, still has the SAME issue!! They "Claim" to have changed the USB Type C Port, Battery, and Charger with USB Type C cable. Spent plenty of time on the phone with Huawei trying to find a solution but i'm not getting a great solution. They escalated the situation to "Higher Up" after i spoke to a manager (Second Time) to see what else can be done. I'm thinking motherboard kinda fried a little one day while charging?? Some hidden Toggle within settings to enable fast charging and PC connection?? Anyone else having this same issue??? This happened out of nowhere as well. One day working and the next Issues everywhere! Sorry for the long Rant. But i'm still wondering if someone has pr had the same issue or kinda the same issue. I can't be the only one with this issue.
Sorry to hear but this happens to the best of devices.. At least Honor/Huawei are investigating the problem. But I would of thought they would conduct a test on your phone when it came in and again before sending it out to you. Still they would have to put on their jig and run a full test and or ship your out a replacement device.
i would suggest you to give it and get back another device from service center.. i think , you got a faulty unit.. bad luck..

Yeah, if you have just received your device then I'd send it back to Honor and request for a replacement unit. As yours could be faulty. However if you've had it for more than 14 days then you will have to send it back to their Service Center for repairs.
Another with the same problem here...
I bought mine from a guy (second hand) at a very good price. The Fast Charge never worked and when I connect to a computer I have the same problem...
The weird thing is that if you try to charge with a power bank or a USB from a computer or laptop it charges very fast... Very. But to the AC power it takes ages. I also try with the Charger of another guy and in a shop and never have Fast Charging... Don't know what to do because for the rest the cellphone really work well.
Same problem as above. USB charging seems to work fine but AC charging is unbearably slow (50-300 mah, 10-20 hours to charge). Running stock rooted Emui 4.1. I've tried factory resetting, unrooting, relocking bootloader, rerooting, and flashing backups from when it was working and nothing seems to have made any difference. Since USB charging works normally I hope this is just a software problem but Honor needs to look into this.
The "device is not recognizable and or has malfunctioned" sounds like you're using Windows 8 or later, so the OS should have USB 3 support baked in. Did you install HiSuite and the driver for the Honor 8? Although it's a USB type C connector only 2.0 transfer speeds are supported, so if you've got a cable with a standard USB connector data connectivity try a 2.0 port. Are you seeing any Unknown Devices in Device Manager? And is the Phone showing up?
Also, now that I'm thinking about it, PC data connection is turned off by default and has to be turned on everytime you connect the Honor 8 to a PC. There's a prompt that pops up under EMUI 5.0, but I think you had to manually change it from Charge Only to MTP/Device file manager Mode.
Fast Charging with an AC adapter only works with the charger that comes with the Honor 8 (or other Huawei phones that Fast Charge at 9V/2A). Qualcomm Quick Charge adapters will only charge at regular speed (probably 5V/1A). If you use an AC charger from an old flip phone or something a lot of those are only rated at 5V/150mA and might not provide enough juice to keep the battery from depleting if you're using the Honor 8 while charging it (and take 20 hours to hit 100%).

I am using the charger included in the package and its not working properly, also I tried with other Honor 8 Adapter that worked on my friends Honor 8 and is not working on mine. Also tried on My aukey Quick charge 3.0 compatible AC charger and is still slow as *****. If It is connected to acomputer USB charges faster than to the power line so i assume is a software problem or bug that do not detect properly the power any solution?
Can not send it back to Huawei because I bought it as second handed...

The EXACT same thing happened to me! About a week ago, my phone just stopped connecting to the MacBook. I then tried it on my windows computer, at work, and still, nothing.
I've been through the settings and changed everything and yet it is still not recognised by a computer.
My next option is to do a factory reset with the phone but I am determined to not do that as I don't want to lose so much data.
Did you resolve the issue?

Unfortunately I did not, Huawei would not do anything else, claimed to changed parts and nothing fixed the issue. So I sold my device for 80 bucks. Did you use any new chargers, car chargers, or change usb cables? I used a car charger with quick charge and a new us cable. Was charging my device while driving and noticed my phone was extremely hot. Must of unsoldered something on the motherboard.

Well I'm currently using a cable I bought from Vanguard (Shenzhen, China) and it still works now. One thing I have been doing is gaming whilst charging. The phone seems to feel hot but I didn't expect it to do this. I'm guessing the same thing would have happened if I'd been charging with the original wire which I keep at work. The constant use must have damaged it. :good:
Hello guys!
I have the same exact problem with me honor 8.
Takes forever to charge via DC and I cant access phone storage via use cable when connected to PC. I have bought and changed loads of USB cables but the problem still persists.
Anyone please help before I go crazy and ditch the phone !!!
I'm affraid there is no solution. I sent my phone back to repair centre 3 times with this problem. (No fast charge and PC not recognise. They replaced the mainboard at the end. It solved the problem for 2 days and dead again. I just gave up and living together with this fault however it's bloody annoying especially when you would like to download your pics and videos. :crying:
I have exactly the same problem, as described, with mine. It happened out of nowhere as well.

Wireless charging issues

Sometimes my Note8 does not charge on my Samsung fast wireless charger. No, this is not a position issue.. Sometimes, it just doesn't charge. The solid bluelight of the wireless charger although turns on. The only way for me to wireless charge again in this state is for me to reboot the phone.
Anyone else run onto this? Very annoying and it happens at random times.

I am surprised no one ran into this issue. The only thing I can think of that would cause this is some service I disabled.
I have the same issue and unfortunately have not figured it out. Mine will charge for about 10 seconds then will start blinking, I am using the dock fast charger from before the note 8 though not the newest one.

I had the same issue when trying to use the older wireless charging stand. I think it's a power issue because I tried an older iPad charging block (one of the bigger ones that has higher wattage or voltage or whatever) and it charged fine on the older stand. It didn't say it was fast charging but it did charge faster than average. I think I'll just stick to the newer charging base I got from the Note 8 promotion.
I had the same issue. I realized the case that i was using was the issue. Had to take it off to use the wireless charging.
I noticed the same thing recently. The wierd thing is, I also have the old original flat slow wireless charger and I use tha every night with a case, it just won't work on the fast dock one. Only without the case, or I think if i lay it sideways it works.

This issue has to do with power supply. Try different cables or wall plugs. I have had this issue in the past it could be sending too much or too little voltage. It blinks like that and turns off to protect your device from getting damaged.
I actually had to use an older wall plug to get my older wireless charging pad to work. The quick charge wall plug was pushing too much voltage.

if I remove the case it works perfectly. With the case its the 10 second deal; However, I took your advice and switched out the charging brick to another samsung fast charger ( all i have to test with at the moment) and it looks like it may work. I will see if I have a better one at home but it may just be with the case its having to emit more power like you mentioned. not sure but ill try that out for now.

Looks like a common issue where the old wireless charger (pre S8 ones) had problems. My fast wireless charger had no issues with the S7, just the Note 8.

Many users are facing this problem. While searching the web I found one user giving the best solution for this problem at Samsung community, He says that he has the same issue if the phone is standing straight up. However, when he put it on its side he never seems to have the problem.

Yeah. I saw that but its still not working correctly for me.
Anyone notice that it only charges when the screen is OFF?
I have this issue sometimes randomly on the new flat fast charger. Does this with my wifes S8 as well. My older standing type fastcharger that I got for my Note 5 works flawlessly. I feel like it's the flat fastcharger base itself.
Ummm... now this crazy phone is charging FLAWLESSLY. And I havent changed a thing...

Poco F2 Pro - Fast charging issue

Hello,
I'm struggling with strange issue with my phone. When I try to charge it with original charger and cable it looks like he tries to enter the fast charge mode but something is wrong and the proces is interruped (see atachmed movie). This happes all the time but when I use some othe charger with less power the slow charging is fine.
I've tried different cables and chargers but with the same result. The phone is from second hand so I can't say where it was from the beginning, because I've immediately updated it after the first charge. The first owner says that everything was perfectly fine, but he haven't used him for 4 months.
Anybody had the same problem or know what might be the reason?
Could be a problem with the charger or the cable. You'll have to test it using another Poco F2 charger/ cable.

Most OEMs use proprietary charger and cables, so you'll have to use their branded charger and cables only for testing, unfortunately. Without those, your phone will still charge, but not at the speeds that their proprietary technology supports.

Hi,
But 2 chargers and 2 cables where from the OEM, I've bouth the same phone becouse the old one had damage. Now I tested all the chargers I have and when the power is strong enough to trigger fast charging I see this strange braking. I had used these chargers with the same model before without any problems so I don't think it's a charger fault.
Just to add some background: the phone is not rooted, I've started the unlocking process and I'm waiting the 7 day period to be able to unlock bootloader.

Rooting or unlocking bootloader won't make a difference.
At this point, I'm beginning to feel that there is something wrong with the battery, and is the reason the previous owner was not using it for 4 months. Is the battery lasting fine it you charge it fully, even if slowly.
it's known hw issue, happen on this devices after years of usage if you're frequent using miui 33w turbo charge
that's why custom rom limit the charge 22w, the hw can't handle it
you will have to replace the charging board or/with the flex cable, or some people succeeded patch the flex/connector with some paper (look up on yt). The later usually won't last long.

It's also my guess. After charging slowly everything is fine, it last like the previous one at the beginning so 2 days of normal use.

I've heared about that issue with the board but all cases I' found where about charging or not, not that the slow charging is fine.

well, just reset it if you doubt, all software related issue should be solved
i don't understand the need for you to debate this
the mainboard and charging board handle the communication about turbo charge, the battery doesn't matter if it's can hold a charge
either try to replace those or accept you have a broken mainboard
