Hello people. Have one S20 with a weird problem. After I did a factory reset, the device refuses to connect with Wifi. The phone finds the available networks, but it won't connect and returned me a messages, no Internet available, Unable to connect with the Internet,.... bla bla bla. I have no idea, whether that phone been worked at all. It was locked with PIN and I've been asked to wipe the phone and after that, I can't proceed, because I can't jump over that step. Put another SIM card and it shows me that the Airplane mode is activated. After all, attempts I flashed the phone with the newest Android 11...but no change.
Read a couple of articles, that this is a motherboard problem or a Wifi chip, not sure. Any ideas? Thanks.

So that usually happens when the router is sending out a signal but the modem/router isn't actually connected to the internet. I suggest you restart your modem, then restart your router.

I did that, but no change. Every other device connects normally with that router, only that phone won't.
That phone has two SIM slots and I found that the first IMEI number is blacklisted. But the IMEI 2 is not. Is it possible to use the phone with the second SIM card and second IMEI, if the first one is blacklisted?

Hi all,
I have a Galaxy i9000 and it won't connect to wireless. It used to connect just fine, then one day it stopped working. I ignored it for a while (3G still works) and once I finally got around to trying to see what had happened, I could see that the phone does connect to wireless networks (at home and at work), but once it had authenticated to the network, it would fail at "Obtaining IP address from <network name>". There's no error message, but the phone just sits at that stage forever. Not obtaining an IP address makes it pretty hard to connect to a wireless network
I don't know what happened to make this problem occur, it's been about a month now since it happened. I have AdFree installed on the phone, that writes to the hosts file, right? I suspect that it may have been a hosts file update which had caused this problem, but I'm not sure.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may have caused the problem?
Thanks!
what about reflashing your phone?
so you have everything stock
if this doesn't solve the problem then contact a service, or if you have warranty, just send it back...
same problem
The funny thing is is have exactly the SAME PROBLEM ... SINCE the same time?!?!
mybe we got some kind of virus for phones? ... altho i do have anti viral software on the phone. and i didnt upload any kind of stuff on it for at least half a year.
hard rest phone
try resetting your phone to factory default
I am also experiencing similar wifi issue..except I get pass obtaining ip address it's after that I get error message "authenticate problem".??
My brothers works fine connects within second on home wifi, when I connect on same wifi I get error message..I have tried restoring previous wifi data..I have done phone reset too but nothing works
I did some googling and found brief answers not that helpful..but it was mentioned that frequency range I'm trying to connect is incorrect.
"does anyone know how to change wifi frequency mgh our any help"
question
Hello , did anyone solve the problem ? My I9000 wifi problem apeared today. thanks
same "authentication problem"
Well after i flashed custom rom (android 4.0.4 -SmoothieICS-v2) i can´t connect to wifi any more. But mobile data works perfectly.
And before flashing custom rom ,wifi worked jsut fine. phone is Galaxy S Plus I9001 .
My Motorola Milestone XT720 phone all of sudden crashed while charging last week. I eventually got it to recover and boot, but then it went extremely hot and shut down. After removing the sim and SD card, then rebooting it, the phone turned back on. I reinserted the sim, but it won’t connect to my mobile network or to a wi-fi network. I got Sim replaced from Wind mobile and it still wouldn’t work, but my sim works in a old phone.
The phone seem to search for the network and finds Wind and Wind Away, but it won’t connect to Wind Network and goes to emergency call mode only. At one point, it did find the Wind Away network and connected to data, but not the home network. I did a factory reset with no luck, then a manual reset and still wont connect to the network. Finally today I downloaded RSDLite and flashed an SBF, but it still won’t connect to a network.
I almost think the internal antenna doesn’t send out a signal, but am not sure what else I can do to test the phone.
Any ideas or suggestion on why it won’t connect to wind home?
Hey there,
Looks like the baseband (modem) in your phone is fried. Could you dial *#06# and check if it appears 15-digit number ? Your best bet would be to flash stock rom with rsd lite and then wipe through stock recovery.
Hope it helps.
Hi! I'm having some mayor problems with my OnePlus One.
For some time I have had problems getting calls and sms when using 4G but it seemed to be a problem with my carrier but 2 weeks ago I dropped my phone and the screen broke so I bought a new screen and replaced it. After that the connection to my carrier dropped randomly and now after trying to fix it in different ways I can't get any connection at all with any carrier !
What I have tried so far:
Factory reset
Reinstalled CM
Put paper under the sim for tighter fit
Turned the radio off and on and restart phone
Change pin code
Replace sim-card
Tried different carriers on my phone (my simcard worked on other phones so it is the OPO that is the problem)
Total restore by fastboot-flashing
Installed OxigenOS 2
Tried all modems from the modem collection on CM and Oxigen.
Retyped the APN by hand
Opened the phone again and checked that all cables are connected well
Tried manualy connect to my carrier under Network Operators
For a short time of maximum 10 seconds I got a 4G connection twice in now 3 days of trying but then it stops working again. It feels like a hardware problem BUT I can see a lot of different carriers under Network Operators but when trying to connect it loads for ever and then says "Can't register to your carrier". I called my carrier and thay said nothing was wrong from their end and when I tried on other phones it worked flawlessly.
I'm really out of ideas now and I don't know where to go from here. I really hope someone of you knows that might be the problem!
Thank you so much!
If imei present you can try mobile phone exchange offer on flip kart like online stores. When this happened to my phone I did it , very easy.
Sometimes opo dont search available network or wont register on any network.
Sulution: go to access point and reset it to default first then go to network and try to search for network n if ur able to search then try ro register manually and if it does not work then go to dialer and dial *#*#4636#*#* then click phone info and select the lte/gsm ato prl mode and then click turn radio off and again tuen it onn then smsc refresh and update ( i dnt remember it correctly) if that dnt help then ur network antena is damaged
Hi everyone.
I hope someone can help me please. I have an old Moto G3 phone I want to give to someone so I’ve uninstalled everything personal off the phone and then done a factory reset.
Now for some reason I cannot get it back on to my home wifi to finish setting up the phone. Initially, I selected my network and then input the password but all it returned was ‘Authentication Problem’. It then stopped even being able to find my SSID on the available networks but eventually it showed up again but still doesn’t connect. I originally bought the phone second hand from ebay a few years ago and it had been factory reset by the seller. It isn’t rooted or locked to a network. I’ve never had an issue connecting it to my network before tonight.
However, the phone has been turned off in a drawer for several months. About 7 weeks ago I had to install a new Virgin Media Hub-3 modem as the previous modem was dying of old age so tonight was my first time attempting to connect this phone to the new modem. I normally have 11 different devices connected to my wifi at any one time and all of them work perfectly.
I’ve tried absolutely everything I can think of. My other devices all see and are connected to the network completely fine. I’m literally sitting within 2 feet of the modem and it’s showing a very strong signal.
I have tried the WPS button, WPS Pin, rebooting the phone, rebooting the modem, resetting the network settings, rerunning the factory reset, making sure the modem is set to broadcast the network name, inputting the SSID and password manually. I even tried disabling the modem firewall in case that was blocking the phone and I must have manually typed in the wifi password over a dozen times which I keep noted down and I know is correct. Basically I’ve run out of ideas. As the phone isn’t locked I also tried my the sim from my current phone to test it. Although it can make calls no problem, I still can’t get on to my home wifi.
I’ve tried turning off the wifi and shutting down a couple of my other devices and then turning them back on and they reconnected to the wifi straight away without a problem. I can’t believe the problem is with the modem as it’s only 7 weeks old and everything else is working perfectly on it.
I’ve also tried googling the problem but still no luck so far.
The phone is on Android 6.0.1, it’s a Motorola Moto G3 with a 16GB microSD card but has no sim card installed.
I bought a Galaxy Express 3 (sm-j120a) on Ebay (new condition) to use as a backup phone. I began the setup process and tried connecting to my WiFi. I put in the correct password but it will constantly cycle between showing "Connecting" underneath the SSID, then suddenly the SSID disappears, then suddenly it will reappear and show "Connecting" underneath, etc. It will do this indefinitely and will never connect. If anyone has experienced this issue before and knows how to fix it, I would greatly appreciate some help.
One thing I haven't checked is whether I could update the software of the phone to the last available update. I wanted to hold off on putting in my sim card because I have a nano sim and I think the phone takes a micro sim and I don't have an adapter yet. Is there a way I can download any available updates to my computer, then send the update to the phone via a USB cable?
Thanks!
i ran into the same thing a while back with an old android phone, a samsung j120a. one day its wifi stopped working with the att modem i have, a bgw210. behavior was the same as what you described. every other wifi device in the house worked fine. tried every standard trouble shooting thing you find when you search this, including factory data reset, nothing. got hold of another phone same model... it also failed to connect to wifi on this modem, same thing.
the answer-> i resorted to playing with the wifi settings on modem, and found that the problem was with the wpa version setting- it was set to wpa 2 by default when i found it. i changed it to the setting that accepted both versions 1 and 2, and the phone's wifi now works again.
i assume at some point att updated this modem, and one of the updates was to change default setting on the wpa version, probably because wpa 2 is supposed to be more secure than wpa 1
just replying because i hate searching stuff like this and finding nothing but people asking roughly the same question without getting any answers. hope this helps somebody searching this in future
