Visible Wireless, Motorola G Stylus & call blocking - Moto G Stylus (Moto G Pro) Questions & Answers

With Visible Wireless on a unrooted Factory Unlocked Motorola G Stylus 2020 Android 10. When some calls come in they are identified as Spam or possible Spam.
Chatted with Visible they said they have no such feature but hope to bring call filtering to Visible soon.
Looked at Motorola's website & they have no call blocking feature.
How are incoming calls being marked as Spam or possible Spam?

Which phone app are you using?
Many of them have a spam block option.
If you long press on the icon, and tap the "i" you will see app details, select advanced, at the bottom should be the app name like
com.android.dialer or even an play store link.

I've come to believe the Spam notifications are from Google.

Totally silent call blocker ?

Looking for a totally silent call blocker. Tried apps like MrNumber but every time there's a blocked call I get a pop up & audio notification. I want a app that once a number is added to the block list, just blocks the call - no notification of any kind ( well a entry into a log is OK ).
Any suggestions ?
Stock Moto G here.
No one ?
Can I request one of the app developers here to develop such a app. I'm sure I'm not the only one who needs this.

Hello bro... If you have Samsung device.. It has an option blocking mode..
And If you have rooted phone... Then use this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fahrbot.apps.rootcallblocker.beta&hl=en
Or you can search play store for this kind of apps.... I'm sure that there must be some apps with this feature..
Please don't miss to hit thanks button if I helped you..
Could not any at the Play Store or even Google search. That's why I posted here.
No one else needed something like this ? Seems unlikely,
Using stock Moto G as mentioned in the OP.

Got a really quick response from MrNumber :
To disable or change where the pop up notifications appear, tap "Settings" in Mr. Number.
In the Calls section, tap "Incoming Call pop up" to reveal different options for where incoming call notifications should appear:
Show alerts at the top
Show alerts in the middle
Show alerts on the bottom
Do not show
If you uncheck the box next to "Post call pop up," and the app will stop displaying information about callers after a call is completed.
When Mr. Number blocks a call or text it creates a notification on your notification bar. To disable the notifications, tap Settings >>"Blocked calls and texts" under Notifications >> select "do not send notification."
Lastly, there is a small popup that says, "Blocked by Mr. Number" when the action of the blocking takes place which quickly appears and then disappears; that cannot be removed.
Best,
Mr. Number Support Team

Blocking SMS on note 5

I cannot for the life of me find how to block sms on samsung messaging app.
Does anyone know how to achieve this?
Blocking SMS
This seems to work,
I downloaded a generic app (Google Messenging) and made it my SMS default app. Then went to Settings, Apps, Samsung Messages, Permissions and Deny SMS. Then I went through all apps that have SMS permissions and also Denied. Then I uninstalled the Google app that was my "Default". Then you can go back to what app (if any) you actually want for SMS and give it back permissions.
For some reason every time I tried to just "Deny" Samsung Messages without another app being the default, and other program's permissions, Messenger was persistent.
Hope this helps
He's not talking about blocking all SMS, but more like blacklisting numbers.

If what you're trying to do is block a specific number from sending you sms messages you need to tap Phone then MORE in the top right corner then Settings and then under "Call settings" tap Call Blocking and on the next window tap block list and then just add the number! Done.

This method only blocks calls but not sms. It's so easy to add numbers to a spam list on other note 5 from other carriers. But for some reason verizon has taken thing feature out.

I think if you're using Google Messenger, you'll have go into the actual text message and then tap the 3 little dots in upper right corner then select people and options and then right under Vibrate it should say block. On samsung messenger I'm not to sure cause I don't use it . That's a bit weird that blocking the number through the phone would still allow it to text message you..
Hi, I don't have that option in message 6.3.10, Samsung note 5, Verizon. But for $60 a year, they will allow you to block 20 whole numbers. I have why more scammer and people texting me that I don't really want to hear from than that

If you download third party SMS app, you are able to at least blacklist and never have to see the messages.
I personally use Textra, I upgraded to the paid version. In fact. The blacklist and mute features were the two selling points for me. Well worth the investment for the added features.
I use SYnk.me or call blocker to control messages and Calls

Ok, mine is on intelligent control and it's fine. Are you saying that you never get any notification from Whatsapp at all? Or do the notifications come late?
If they come late, try changing from intelligent control to don't optimize.
If you don't get any at all, I suggest that you go into Whatsapp, backup in it's settings to google drive. Then go and clear data and cache for Whatsapp. Uninstall it. Reboot your phone. Go to the play store and install it again. Ask someone to send you message to test. Then restore your backup in Whatsapp.
Also turn off battery saver.

Nico... You haven't been warned about using gb whatsapp? I used it until 4 months ago when i received a warning that my account would be locked and canceled. Search for it, and you'll see.
Why whatsapp doesn't implement some of the gb settings, I don't know. A dark theme, for example.

I'm using Whatsapp mods since Whatsapp+ from Rafalense and i didn't get notifications like that, I'm currently on DeltaYowa(Base Fouad 8.12)
You will get banned if you use a mod with older Base or use some features like send more than 10 photos at once, send bigger files , and requesting many verification codes every day

Call History - is there an app to show call date and time for each call

I'm looking for a way to show each call's date and time. Is there an app for that?
EDIT - Verizon stock
I'm interested in this question : I record my call with Skvalex's Call Recorder, so I can get those informations from here, but I'd rather get them directly from the call app.
I might install Skvalex's Call Recorder just for the history date and time. I don't care if it actually records the conversation which I read is a problem with non-rooted phones.
I downloaded it from their website instead of the store
It's hard to believe that phone lacks such a basic feature. All the Samsung's I've used have it.
At least on A10, on the center "Recents" tab it will show the date - if you want the time, tap the call you want then tap "History".
Another way is from that same tab, click the top right 3 dots, then call history, tap call, then "Call Details".
But if you are looking for a list of all the call date/times already displayed, then I agree the default phone app doesn't make it easy to see which calls came in on which date.

I dont see the issue. If I go into my call history (of my stock dialler), click on a call which then expands to show a sub menu, which I can then click on "history", which has all the dates/times to that number.

Question Notifications help with S22 Ultra

Hello everybody,
I got my device yesterday and i am still trying to sort things and settle down.
I have one question which is driving me nuts.
In my previous phones (latest being OnePlus 6t), i could make the apps (such as instagram and WhatsApp) not to show the message but only the notification badge and how many things i am missing (such as 2 messages, 2 chats or 2 messages 1 chat).
On S22 Ultra, i can hide the context on AOD but the context is always seen on while the phone is unlocked/on homescreen.
Would appreciate if you can help me solve this issue.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Press the notification till you see "settings" menu. Select the notification type you want (push the text, for ex. "new messages for sim 1") Than select "silent" and enable app icon badges. You should be ok.
Nope didn't work. Still can see the message there.
In Settings>Notifications> Lock screen (Display), do you have 'hide content' set?

you mean it makes just beep sound and doesnot wake up screeen? right?

Nope,
This was how my old phones used to act;
If the screen was off, it would wake briefly, show the whatsapp icon and go back to turned off screen.
On the lock screen, when i wake the phone, it would show the whatsapp icon and that is all.
On home screen, when i scroll down, it would show whatsapp icon and number of chats and messages but not the details of the messages (like 2 chats, 3 messages).
But wouldn"t give details like "Nicole: How are you doing"
My new S22 Ultra acts like below;
On lock screen, it acts correct. Only whatsapp image pops when i receive a message.
When it is awake and when it is on home screen, it pops the whole message for me to read. And when i pull down the notification pane, the whole message is there for me to read.
I have fingerprint activated on my whatsapp.
Now, if anybody can read and reply to the whatsapp message by pulling down the notification menu, what the hell is the reason of a fingerprint layer on whatsapp entry...
They can simple send one message to me and they can see whole of the newly received messages.
As well as, this causes the above mentioned issue. Where people can read delicate messages when i am showing something else in a different app...
BlinkThinks said:

Yes i do.
That hides it only when phone is locked.
Let me try to post some pics of what i am trying to explain.
Alright got the pics.
At first, you can see the lock screen acts as it should. Doesn't show the context/content
But on the second screen, where it is notification menu scrolled down, the message can be read.
And the same happens if i am doing something with the phone when the message is received.
So, people looking at my screen can see the message.
Please also note fingerprint login is also enabled for my whatsapp. So this totaly kills the point of fingerprint log in.
And when i figure this out, i will also need to hide other notifications as well.
When i receive an email, i will show how it was on my other phone's notification panel.
Since whatsapp doesn't allow multiple devices at once (cellular) i can't show with whatsapp message.
I hope this gives a general idea of what i am trying to sort out.
And here how it was on my old phone. It shows content hidden on notification menu for the apps i have closed preview of.
Whatsapp, instagram etc.
The reason there are 2 separate outlooks is one is a calendar alert and other is actual email.
If i had like 5 mails and no alerts, it would show as one outlook and say 5 emails with one notification.
you can also see that instagram is also hidden as content.

At least i sorted the WhatsApp.
Having 2 messaging app doesn't help.
One doesn't have the options you showed, but it also have the block/blacklist option.
I also need to find where the app lock is on Samsung. Where i can fingerprint lock the apps i choose to.

One thing I had hate on my 22 Ultra is the combined notification sounds. I want to separate system sounds, text messages sounds and app sounds. Nothing seems to be working. It all comes back to this screen and it's all combined. I need away to separate them.
Any help?
