Power button taking screenshots - Samsung Galaxy A51 Questions & Answers

When I press my power button to shutdown the screen my phone takes a screenshot I've gotten to the point where I can do it any time I want.It still does the palm swipe and power and volume down screenshot. How do I make this go away?

Maybe the volume down button is permanently triggering.
Can you check your volume, if it sticks to a higher level?

Turns out I had a bad case.Take it off and it never happens so I enabled the double tap to shut the screen down.

Turn on the phone from sleep without pressing power button

Ok, the story is, my phone goes to sleep every 30 secs to save battery. And since I'm still very excited about it, I turn it on quite often, just to check . And the only way to turn on from sleep (as far as I know) is pressing the power button. Well, that means that button will be pressed a lot! I'm just worrying that it will soon have problems. It would be much cooler if we can touch some Android button down there, Home button for example, to turn on the phone. Do you know anyway to do that?
PS: I tried to google as well as search through out this forum, but the keywords are pretty common, so it's really hard though.
I wouldn't want the capacitive buttons activating my phone, think of all the butt-dialing
I think Widget Locker allows for any hardware button to wake up the device, so then you'd be able to distribute the fun between your volume rocker and the power button.
Widget locker does allow the use of the volume rocker to wake up the phone.
a short term fix or you might be to got o settings-->Applications-->Development-->Stay awake....
so as long as you are charging the screen will not sleep. dont forget to change the setting back if you walk away for a bit... or go to bed
Thanks guy. I think the volume button is good enough

i hate it must reach for power button to wakeup!
i like "Simply Lockscreen", it also turns on cappy with volume buttons.
give it a try
On a similar note, do you all have any app tips that will allow me to do something special with the volume button while the screen is off (maybe long press or double click, or press both volume buttons at once) that will in turn toggle silent/vibrate on and off?

InsertCoin Power Button

I'm on insert coin. What is supposed to happen when I press the power button? For me, it goes into a "screen capture" mode where pressing home rapid fires screenshots as many times I press Home. I have to press power again to sleep it.
it should turn the screen off when you just press the power button. when you hold it for 3sec then release, it will display the extended power menu (power off, hibernate, restart, etc) and when you hold the power button and press home, it takes screenshots of whats currently on the screen
Mine doesn't do that. It does what I said. How do I fix that?
BUMP - now it is random
Wipe and Reflash and see if that helps?

[Resolved] [Q] How does a power button work

It's a simple general question how does the power button work I can't imagine it
I only can imagine power switches
but how does any device respond to the power button that turns on your phone while the same long press can open the power menu and not shut it down
Or lock your phone

Physically, pressing the power button closes a circuit. While the button is pressed, electricity flows. When not pressed, there is no circuit. The software/firmware interprets between a short press (screen on/off) and a long press (device power on, power menu, etc) and performs the appropriate action. Same with the volume and other physical buttons for stuff like hard reboots, screenshots, etc.

location of timeout delay of volume slider?

As the title says. Does anyone know where I can set the volume slider timeout delay that comes up when you press the volume buttons? I assume it's in the build prop? Thanks in advance.
The issue I have is when holding the volume button in either direction. A single press of the volume button brings up the slider almost immediately [timed at 0:0039 seconds] (but doesn't change the volume). Once the slider appears, pressing or holding the volume button again changes the volume immediately. Once the slider disappears, it takes a moment to wait for it to re-appear after holding the volume button (+ or - makes no difference). In the last 2 times I've timed this, it takes 0:0106 seconds for the slider to appear.
I only started noticing this issue after upgrading to 190123. I can't confirm if it for sure occurred because of this update.
P.S.: I just noticed that when holding the volume button up or down with the screen off, the volume does not adjust. I have to tap press the volume button to turn it up or down each step. Is this normal as I haven't noticed this "issue" before?

Screen shot

Is there anyway to set the screen shot to vol up and power instead of volume down and power?
I don't know about that, put you can double tap with your knuckle anywhere on the screen to take a Screenshot. I find it more convenient than pressing buttons
