MIUI 12.2.5.0 RJKMIXM update - Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro (Redmi K30 Pro) Questions & Ans

Hey guys, did any of you update to the latest MIUI 12.2.5.0 RJKMIXM? I mean 12.2.4.0 was riddled with bugs, I couldn't use third party launchers(it created issues with recents menu) , third party video players( MX player force closes after a minute), even I had difficulty in attending a call when the phone was locked. It was one big mess. So I downgraded my phone to android 10 and I am terrified to update again. So did any of you guys update and are you facing any above mentioned issues? Thanks in advance.

You could try an EU ROM like this one https://sourceforge.net/projects/xi...files/xiaomi.eu/MIUI-WEEKLY-RELEASES/21.3.25/.

12.2.5.0 is no different, I downgraded to Indonesian 12.0.4.0 from it and I'm happy with my phone again.

Oh really? I thought that they would have fixed all the nasty bugs in this update. Man, I seriously regret buying this device now. It's unfair that we are forced to use Android 10 while midrange poco phones have stable, bug free Android 11. Can you please elaborate on what was the issue you faced in this new MIUI 12.2.5.0 update?

In my case some of the apps wouldn't work in full screen, there was an annoying animation that I couldn't get rid of and the most important to me that phone stopped sending audio streams to my car.

Xiaomi decided to implement full gestures only in stock launcher not in system UI.
I used it (currently on AOSP) without any particular problem. Certified play store, safety net ok. (Without root).

This is to confirm that I have updated to 12.2.6.0 and the recents menu bug associated with nova launcher has been fixed. But the force closing issue of MX Player still exists.

Pixel 2 launcher for non-rooted Pixel 1?

Hey everybody,
There are some threads that contain the pixel 2 launcher apk and I have tried to install it without rooting and deleting the original pixel launcher but no success. Is there's anyways I can install the pixel 2 launcher without rooting my device?
Thanks in advance.
I side loaded this and have been running it for the past week without issue.

Just install the APK over your existing pixel launcher... It's just an updated version so you don't need to delete anything ... Same with the 5.0 camera app that allows for the new hdr advance and motion capture for pictures... ( Only problem now is the play store will update to 5.1 which disables the extra features in pixel 1s ...

The features he listed in the portion of the quote that you didn't quote
A newer version available in the Play Store will trigger an update, and if you have Auto Update turned on, it happens automatically.
Hmm I just installed and even with my black wallpaper I'm still getting the white theme in the app drawer, settings, etc.

I don't even want the new launcher, I think it looks worse than the old one... but I am a little annoyed that Google seem to be holding back features that would work perfectly fine on the first gen pixels just to keep them exclusive. Mostly I am referring to the camera. Seems a bit poor to screw over people who spent lots of money on their hardware 12 months (or less) ago.

Upgrading to Oreo: Worth it?

Hi peeps. I'm currently running my U11 on Rooted 7.1 Nougat Stock ROM, which I love to pieces, it's very smooth, fast & stable.
I would like to know what peoples experiences are with Oreo, since it's a big job to upgrade once you've rooted. Are there any real advantages to updating? Is it worth the hassle?
Give me the skinny
cheers :good:

I was glad to get it mainly for two reasons - A it allows our company client certificates to be imported that were too advanced or something for Nougat (so now I can browse our internal systems from phone) and B there is LDAC support (useful if you have high-end Sony BT headphones) and other Bluetooth hi-res audio codecs on top of regular aptX. I also find the UI neater, and like new option for do not disturb mode (notifications off until next planned silent time ends) but that alone wouldn't make me flash. Let's see what others have to say
Oreo was the start of all my problems... It's a tough situation though because Oreo brings with it the latest Android security patches...
But have had endless network, SMS and Wifi issues ever since.
Good luck!
Icons are UGGLLLYYY! as hell! And yes i know themes ... but cant fix all problems - you need to change launcher =(

I suspect upgrade process is at fault, which wouldn't occur when re-flashing the rooted phone and restoring or re-installing your apps there. Just my guess though. Personally I didn't experience any such problems after OTA to Oreo.

Well, setting HTC Classical icons in Personalize - Edit current theme - Icons fixes most except for Google ones. I didn't really like how Oreo (or HTC?) rounded all the icons, with Google ones it works IMO.

Miui Update to 10.0.2.0 global OTA 9-18-18

I just got an OTA update for the global stable rom 9.6.4.0 to 10.0.2.0. Loads of UI changes and brings the security update to 8-18. However the phone is still running Oreo 8.0.0. I did capture the OTA file. If there is any interested I can upload to share.
Can you please make benchmark.
I am on pie beta and i have much better overall score, but bad ram score.
It will be interesting to compare.

But TWRP and root, disappears like usual.
And after that i can't root new MIUI 10. It going to bootloop in recovery.
With SuperSU-v2.82-SR5 and Magisk-v17.1 no luck.
I wonder if it is possible to revert to this stable build from the MIUI 10 Pie beta. I haven't rooted or installed TWRP, also haven't unlocked the bootloader although I started the timer before installing the beta. Everything was working totally fine for me on the Oreo MIUI 10 beta but since Pie my MMS on Verizon is totally broken.

I would also like to know this.
Since I jumped to PIE a number of apps including Hangouts do not show notifications.
I'm thinking about trying to flash the image with the stock recovery when I get home from work.
LDAC audio is now fixed!
anyone notice that you don't get notification popup bubbles anymore? Kind of annoying... that's generally how i respond to text messages. I hate pulling down the notification drawer to get to my messages now.

I use Google messages. I tried to activate it but nothing is happening. I did eventually figure out FB messenger, so I get chat bubbles now.
Since the upgrade my Bluetooth plays over both phone speaker and Bluetooth device. Extremely annoying. Anyone the getting this and is there a simple solution?
EDIT
Switching the bluetooth off and on seems to have fixed it - I work in IT, I know all the fixes...

The same with me. Lag on the apps menu, and also in some apps. I noticed it few days after I updated to the latest stable release (oxygenOS 9.0.4).
A reboot fix the problem for some days, but unfortunately it come back again, and the only solution for fixing it temporarily is a reboot. The last time I needed to reboot I had my oneplus 6 running for 166 hours , if I remember correctly.

[Gesture navigation problem on android 11]

Hello, I recently had on my poco F2 pro european version, the update to android 11. Since this update (12.2.1.0) gesture navigation on nova laucher bug while on android 10 there was no problem. Gesture bugs occur on all alternative launchers. Only back gestures work, and Home and Recent App only works on the Home page. It is impossible to go to home when I am on facebook for example. I don't know where it comes from, after the advice on xiaomi after-sales service I carried out a factory restore but without success. Thank you in advance for your answers.
Same as you, only I'm on the global version. Tried the factory reset as well.
For me just recents don't work.
Read the link for more info
MIUI 12 issues still exist with Nova, Lawnchair, & other 3rd-party launchers
Xiaomi's MIUI 12 still casues issues with thrid-party launchers like Nova, Lawnchair, and more as per the latest user reports.

Same here, 'recents' don't work with Smart-Launcher'
Okay, from what I can see I'm not alone. Do you think this will be resolved with future updates or is android blocking this?

It's probably MIUI issue, because it works in AOSP ROMs.
Ah okay I thought the problem was similar to that android 10 at launch. What surprises me is that miui 12 under android 10 did not have this problem ...
same, i'm using lawnchair launcher. need to use default launcher for the time being.

I don't know, some say it works
Just don't update to latest "stable", it's not worth it.
In addition to lack of gesture support for 3rd party launchers (a huge annoyance, since if they don't restore these, I'll probably ditch F2 and move on to something more useable, besides Poco's launcher is a proper eyesore with that big bar at the bottom). Also I've been having issues with performance, lack of smoothness & often times Youtube crashing for no reason (when I'm not using it etc.).
Holy ****! So it's not just me.. Guess it's time to root my phone
ok, i have not found a working launcher! (i have tried 12x different apps!)
btw:
Nova 7 beta has the same problem!
no way out!
btw.
i have written to nova dev. They have answered they could not do anything against that behavior because xiaomi have to do that.
Must be a Poco F2 Pro specific issue..
i have seen, that the size of newer versions of poco launcher (>v. xxx.10) was reduced more than 10mb against older versions. No wonder, that we got problems.
no differences in behaviors if miui optimization is switched to on or off. Same result!
so wie have to wait for newer firmware fixes.
I have same problem, i cant open recents, and cant use gestures with other launchers.
Can some of you recommend custom rom with "swipe gestures" and "wake up on taking up" the fone features?
