In need of developer! - Google Pixel 3 Questions & Answers

Hi!

Even one message of whole process explained would be enough.
Thanks!

I bow to the obvious masters of this domain!

Hello all. I've been working with hi-tech systems for nearly 40 years but am lost when reading these posts on how to update my Kaiser to a better OS (ROM ??) with better speed and less useless 'baggage' programs. I understand the concept but the details as discussed here are just leaving me lost.
So, as I pay homage to you all who understand this I ask the following:
Is there anyone that would take my phone, update it for me, charge me some nominal fee (or accept a donation) and send it back to me? I would want it to be someone who is obviously a regular on this forum so I could have comfort that they are not scamming me.
As an alternative, is thier a posting somewhere here that is written for the tech savvy but 'phone tech' newbie.
I HAVE done many searches for information but I don't have enough info to limit the search paramaters to less than several hundred threads.
Thanx and great job to the regulars. I see alot of good sharing of info going on - I just can't understand it all.

It is like asking someone to impregnate your wife for you, is it really any fun or satisfying if you have someone else do it ?
Just read here and all will be fun and satisfying and Mark will be happy to help with either the rom flashing or the wife

It all depends on what your looking for too. So post back what you want and we can help you find it. It is a little overwhelming when you first get here. Took me awhile to figure it all out. But we are here to help You got Denco7s attention so you are in good hands But like i said let us know what you want. I can help you figure it out...and i know Denco will as well.
Oh, simply read some links in my sig's first line and you will start with the right footing. I have no tech background and have probably flashed at least 50 times in the last 8 months or so...
It's easy, it's fun and it burns calories too
There's plenty of Info info and guides on the wiki and in the stickies.
Just take some time to read theough them and things will start falling into place.

[Q] I have an idea, but acknowledge my lack of programming skills. How to start?

So being my first post and all, I'm sure there is always that "WTF Noob, just learn it!", totally agree, but let me elaborate.
I like to think, I'm a thinker. Most of the things I think of, never go past that phase, because I'm not as good of a Do'er than I am a thinker. I think of an invention, but it never gets built, because I lack the skills to do it. The same goes for Apps. I have a good understanding of programming (went to school for a similar field), but I find my thinking surpasses my programming, so I leave that to the actual good programmers.
I have an idea for an application, which I won't go into detail on because of course I don't want people running out and building it, I want to be a part of that project and hopefully share in the profit . My problem is that I need someone to help make the idea come to life on the phone. I'm an interaction designer, so I'm able to work out the process flows, wireframes, and general interactions, but I can't build it, and the time it would take me to build it and learn, would most likely result in a product that wouldn't be as good.
My question is, where can I go to find people that would be willing to work with me to make an idea come to life? I'm looking for someone I can work with and build a relationship with to work on something like this. But short of hiring some dev group, I don't really know how to find someone who cares more about the project than some faceless dev group that my relationship would be purely business.
Any thoughts on how to get started? Obviously I post here hoping to spark some sort of interest, but I mostly reach out hoping for insight from people that may have done something like this before and can help guide me.
Thanks for reading such a long post

App idea, where to begin?

I have an idea for an app that I want to create that might be able to bring in a bit of cash, but I have no idea where to begin. I don't really have the skills to create the app myself, so I'd probably be looking to contact someone to create the app for me. Can anyone give me some pointers or give me a step by step breakdown of how these things are usually done?

the reality is that no real developer will gradually take your helping need for free. Yes your app could bring money, then again so can every other app that tried. Im not trying to break any dreams here, but if i were you id get busy with this idea. For example, were ever there is money, there will always be greedy people. So i suggest creating a suitable yet understandable contract in which you would agree to pay the developer a certain amount to fund the project then have either him/her earn a good percentage out of the app. Now remember this is how i would do it, then again were different individual and have different moralities so i suggest you approach this any way you want but be sure both sides win.
I wish you the best of luck in creating your app and finding a trusted dev. Good luck mate

[APP][2.2+]SharedPreferences Sample (Source code and APK inside)

Right for the time being i'm going to keep things short and sweet.
I've been developing android apps since December last year and if I'm honest i love it but my apps just haven't worked out and it's knocked enough confidence for me to stop making apps and work on other things but i have actually missed the android world and i wanted to give a little back to community as a lot pro's on the internet have really helped me learn new things and although there's still ALOT i don't know, i know enough to help some beginners.
One of the hardest things i learnt was SharedPreferences because at first it just seemed way to hard and it was annoying because using SharedPreferences in your app can make a huge difference and once i knew the basics i realised how relatively easy it is so i put together 3 ways or examples on how to use it and those 3 things are...
Saving Text, Saving Integers and saving an image.
Now i am aware that there other things you can do with SharedPreferences but i find those 3 things quite useful.
I'm actually hoping to create more examples at some point so i can not only help other developers but just to make sure i keep my knowledge up to scratch.
Oh if anyone has any questions about the code or someone finds a serious mistake then please don't hesitate to ask me!
If you could give me a thanks then that would also be great as i wouldn't mind becoming a bit more known on here!
Thank you!! xD
This thread is also in the "Java for Android App Development" section so if either one is in the wrong place then please let me know, thank you.
