[Discussion] Android Nougat

Heya! So Android team already revealed the Android N's name called as Android Nougat 7.0
So this is an opinion thread about Android Nougat for Janice. Is it possible to boot it?
Share your thought below
Anything is possible with the dedicated developers working with our Janice.
Who would have thought that we would get MM for our device?

@rudra75 LOL! Thanks for sharing your thought .Since no one who interested to working MM for our Janice except ( @Epirex thank you) , I thought it's imposibble to boot Android N on our Janice but let us hope we will
well said rudra , everything is possible with dedication anyhow i just wish this phone could get a decent and stable rom since last 2 android versions weren`t that stable with janice [ S advance ] i.e LOLIPOP and MARSHMALLOW . :cyclops:
Somebody said janice "impossible" to boot since KitKat but miracle keep showing. I still hope someone continue to define as "i'm possible" for Nougat.
As DaksAnkit said, we really need "Stable" MM for the momment. If SergeyL keep on helping Epirex, I believe we will have stable CM13 soon.

Rooting an SM-P900 with the latest stock build

Hi, everybody --
I have an SM-P900 (WiFi) that I'd like to root. Coming over from DOS/Windows (and the PDP/VAX [!] world before that -- yep, I'm a geezer), I've been lurking for quite a while, trying to figure out exactly what's going on with the whole rooting process. Given that, there are a lot of things I'm still not sure about, but one big one in particular.
My SM-P900 is running 5.0.2, build P900UES1CPL1. I was looking into going with CF-root, but the latest version of CF-autoroot is for build P900UBU0BOI1. Will the BOI1 version of CF-root work with build CPL1, or would I have to flash back to BOI1 first?
Any advice or info about this -- particularly if any of you have been successful in working through this particular combination -- would be very welcome. And if you might think that another rooting method would be more appropriate, I'd certainly like to hear that, too!
Thanks for reading this --

Mark, you're not alone
Hi,
I have the same Tab, love it, and I just (3 weeks ago) used TWRP and installed Android 7.1.1 Nougat ROM onto my Tablet. I love it and it is running well. It gets hot from time to time if I'm on chrome too long, or on Bhootie app for boot animations. But it is running very good and I can't complain a bit. I am just sitting and waiting for the Oreo update to come out. I think it was called "lineage-14.1-20170110-UNOFFICIAL-v1awifi" look for that first. Marshmallow was fun, but it didn't seem correctly ROMed. I am 52 years old and I still love this stuff. I must stop now to go to work. Have fun Mark.
Help me
I have a note pro 12.2... can anyone help me get past 5.1. Lolipop... Help

Stucked on 9.6.4.0

Hello guys ! I just bought this mix 2s a couple of days ago. Also this is my first experience with MIUI so please if I ask something stupid or retarded just forgive me .
When I took the phone out of the box it updated right away to 9.6.4.0 , but as we all know MIUI 10 is already out there for a while . Still my phone doesn't find any update to MIUI 10.
I saw that I can download the firmware from MIUI website and flash it through the update section three dots etc . But since this is my first experience with MIUI I don't know what to think about this flashing method and if I should wait longer for ota or I'm stuck somehow on this version or if I should update like I mentioned before.
Some advice please ? Cheers !
Updating by downloading firmware and using the updater app is safe but decide whether you want to stay on the stable ROM (which normally gets updated monthly) or the developer (which normally gets updated weekly). The MIUI Developer ROM is more stable and bug free than any "stable" version of Oxygen I ran when I had an OP5 so don't let the developer tag scare you.
I would also strongly recommend doing a complete factory reset after upgrading from MIUI 9 to MIUI 10 or Android Oreo to Pie so you get the best user experience. You might end up with some buggy behavior otherwise and since you just got the phone and aren't familiar with MIUI you might not realize that something isn't working like it should.

Well I would like to thank you from the heart for the complex answer ! I was just wondering why my phone can't find the MIUI 10 update if it's already been out for a while. I'm thinking to wait for the Android Pie stable release before I flash a new rom. MIUI 10 has great new features but I'll just wait for MIUI 10 pie. I have to get used to MIUI anyway so I think that I will enjoy 9 while I still have it. Thank you for you time and quick answer! Cheers mate !

manually update:
download ROM from http://en.miui.com/download-343.html
copy to downloaded_rom folder on phone
select ‘About phone’, click ‘System update’, then press ‘three dots’ icon at the top-right corner, and select ‘choose update package’

Does anyone here still have this phone? only for curiosity
I just noticed that I enter the low activity device group
It's really a shame ... it's not a good phone, a newer rom would make it explode

I got it in my pocket in this very moment. (It's
a core G-386W. More or less a late model with better parts. 0.5gb of more RAM iirc
Really run smoothly in most conditions. Still love it. Only replaced it with a LG V20 (not letting go of that removable battery) for OS reason.
I still have mine works great for me I just wished I could update it so I can get some newer aps so at least I could connect my smart watch with it. the only thing I did was years ago installed rooted it and installed kitkat ( I think it was back in 2014) other then that haven't done anything but bought a new battery

Does Wi-Fi and cellular networks work? I installed CM12.1 on mine, everything works perfectly, except the Wi-Fi and calls/sms
I know I am almost 2 years late to the party but I will leave this for those who are willing to dive into the rabbit hole. I managed to build a "functional" lineage18.1 for the SM-g386W Afyonltecan and I am willing to share it as well as the source so that hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me will take the lead or help to fix the bugs so that we can enjoy this piece of history for few more years. Don't get me wrong, it is far from perfect and so far only worked on my device. I also successfully build lineage 16.0 and twrp 3.7.0 but they are too buggy to be useful as is.
