If it has a Simlock you need a Sim from that provider to use with or else you can't call someone and they can't call you.
If you Unlocked it, you can simply use any Sim card from every country, But you need to sim unlock it.
hi, i have a sprint note edge probably it can be rooted, but its possible to remove the simlock for international use??
I have seen a sim unlock option with galaxy tools app. Dont know if it works just know its there. I was going to ask the same question about domestic unlocking.
So anyone got answers i would like to hear. I read note edge was gsm/cdma capable like the nexus. Please someone who knows chime in. Looking to get domestic unlock because i am sure it isnt easily done through sprint.
Secondly i tried to root it whith the odin/chainfire and it didnt work. Git the error message after failed flash and had to re do the stock firmware with odin. Anyone got a link to the chainfire maybe i downloaded the one for kitkat?

I'm sorry but I need some help. I do not want to ruin my phone. I have a Galaxy S6 G920AUCS5DPI1 and want to remove all the AT&T stuff from it, also possibly ROOT it. IAll the info I find it seems is for every model but mine. I don't even understand the model number other than the American stands for its a AT&T built phone. Can someone please help me flash the correct firmware for my model phone and also will it change this number to say a G920F??? I really don't want to ruin my phone....

Unfortunately I can't. I think the true owner of the phone is required for unlocking it. I need different ways to unlock it. Can I just install another samsung s8+ firmware to this phone?

Can i just flash a rom that is SM-950FD to this phone? This rom has a dual sim feature but the SC-03J only has one sim. Will this work? i mean its okay even if its just one sim i just want it to work on my country.
Here are the difference in hardware:

No. There's no firmware or ROM that will SIM unlock it.
You'll need to have the original owner unlock the phone for you OR purchase the phone already unlocked - no software can unlock it for you.
Docomo and Softbank are extremely strict when it comes to unlocking a phone, you need to have an account with them for a few months, pay off the phone, and you'll be able to unlock the phone. If you don't then having it unlocked *remotely* is out of the question unless you sent it to someone who can unlock it for you.
Sorry to revive the thread after so long.
I have similar situation. I have a NTT Docomo s8+. I have unlocked it as well, it now works with my ATT sim in USA.
problem is the annoying Docomo apps in Japanese.
I am not able to rid of it completely.
Can I flash a US-Unlocked stock ROM or any custom ROM ?
pls let me know how.
Pls note my phone is Snapdragon based, (unfortunately most ROMs are for Exynos version).
Hi, I just bought an used galaxy s8+ (G-9550U) and i wanted to change its firmware to a G-9550F version of the phone and also the CSC from VZW to TCE, is there a problem switching between them?
