[Q] HELP! S4 rooting i337m

hey there,
getting a new S4 this week!
i've been reading these forums, found the moto root and i still have a few questions about this:
1. this root method doesn't require a factory reset, therefore i won't lose my apps?
2. i rooted my S2 using Odin, and had to install the Google programs from a package. Does this here S4 root method require the same?
3. is there a CyanogenMod version that people are using with the S4, or are well still waiting on it?
4. has anyone tried custom launchers such as Apex? Working?
thanks!

Would be possible to install a custom ROM keeping knox 0x0?

Hello, I have read this thread and I want to know if this tutorial could work for our Galaxy S6 with PingPongRoot.
Has anyone tried it?
Thanks.
Hello,
It will work without impacting Knox if you only want to get root.
But when you will install a custom recovery to flash custom ROM ---> Knox +1...
No choice from now.
Ah cool. I don't feel so bad for tripping knox prior to ping-pong. I don't really mind Samsung pay at the moment anyway.

Seems like someone managed to flash a custom ROM on the S6 using FlashFire without tripping Knox: http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/paid-software/flashfire-t3075433/post60748708

This is the Guide you need to read.
If you will follow the steps you won't brick, you'll just need to downgrade and flash the full pb1 firmware (You'll need to factory reset in recovery) then follow the guide to root.

To Root or not to Root S6 Edge SM G925F 6.0.1

Hi
Ive just bought a S6 Edge SM G925F on 6.0.1 and was wondering what benefits i would get from rooting
The phone still has warranty until june 2017 so im unsure weather to root or not
Cheers
If you dont know what the benefits are you should not root as you will not benefit from it.
What I mean is that its probably not worth the risk if you have to ask because you dont know anywhere near enough to use root to its potential.
If you want to get some nice Features like Xposed, Titanium Backup or Flashing custom Roms, root. If you are satisfied with your device as it is, let it unrooted. I rooted too and i love to test out new custom roms like Alexis Rom, Noble Note 7 Port.
Undoubtedly.
Android is meant to be rooted ^^
Could someone point me to the correct root tutorial
Thanks

Boot into download mode, open odin, flash cf-auto-root OR Flash twrp instead of cf-auto-root and then install supersu.zip from there

Galaxy S8 Plus (G955FD) TWRP install and rooting tutorial?

Does anyone have a good step-by-step guide (or video tutorial) for rooting the G955FD version? I've tried searching sites and YouTube, but none really have any comprehensive guide. I have rooted phones before, but usually it's done by using KingRoot, so I'm not familiar with the rooting tool of the S8 Plus. Thanks in advance.

Give this a try:

That's kind of what I was afraid of, usually guides on XDA are more like an overview. For example in the TWRP page it says something about the device has DM-Verify and I need to flash different kernel, but no guide on what kernel to use or how to bypass it. Does anyone have a more detailed guide than that? If so, please share.
