reinstalled vivo xi plus from twrp backup-all networking is borked - General Questions and Answers

title. I got a refurb vivo xi plus not long ago for a really decent price, went about installing twrp without much issue, made a backup, then the device hung on the blu splash screen on reboot. reinstalled from the backup and immediately knew there were issues when the new user process was constantly interrupted with "bluetooth sharing keeps stopping" errors. after fighting through those errors and getting past the startup process I find I can't enable wifi or bluetooth, and those bluetooth sharing errors not only continue but seem to become more frequent over time until I have to treat it like an idle clicker game to get them to clear.
edit: forgot to mention the battery is constantly showing as "-1%". no idea if that helps narrow the issue down but that's another oddity.
anybody have any idea what the cause of this is? any solution? looked around a good bit for the stock firmware but having tried two that were floating around from 2019/2020 respectively and getting that same splash screen softlock result I'm thinking the old firmware just isn't going to work. thanks in advance for any help and please let me know if you need any more information.

I see the XI on there but not the XI+ specifically. it wouldn't be a little bit of lost functionality or a different appearance on some menus if I flash the wrong one, it would straight up not work. I guess in the position I'm in it couldn't really do much harm to check that one out so thanks for the link. I'll be back after looking into it

that's promising. twrp is telling me this is an invalid zip format and I was never very good at this stuff. advice on actually installing this thing?
edit: trying adb sideload but it's not detecting the device. I really thought that would do it so this is disheartening. adb had no issues detecting this device earlier so I'm not sure what's up.

yeah, having no issues with adb when the device is up and running the borked install. doing this all on an old kubuntu install so I'll try to find a way to run spft on wine. I have it in my head it's windows only but maybe that's not the case now. both my windows 10 and 7 installs totally fail to see this device in fastboot, which I'm just assuming is how the flash tool works. going to look into all of that now, thanks again
edit: wow is the flashtool confusing. "okay so I just need a scatter file" but then it turns out that file is nowhere to be found so I have to work out how to make it myself.

scatter file is also included on stock firmware right click the .zip and extract it

I've tried the contents of the stock firmware folder thinking that would be the solution, but everything threw an immediate error and so did trying to use the included ota scatter file. I had the scatter file that came with a twrp rom that wound up not working and included a scatter for reasons I don't grasp, maybe because it was meant to be installed with this tool instead (they didn't explain that very well), and anyway even attempts using the recommended download agent and scatter file are sitting as in this image and doing nothing. Tried restarting the adb server, killing the adb server just in case that was getting in the way, disabling and re-enabling debug on the device, nothing is happening with this at all. it's really frustrating stuff.
been working at this various ways for about 14 straight hours so I'm going to get some sleep here, definitely not giving up on this and will be back tomorrow. thanks again for all of the help so far. wouldn't have a clue if you hadn't come along and now it's looking like a few technical speedbumps may be all that's in my way fixing this thing.

after sorting the scatter file issue I wound up with
ERROR : STATUS_EMI_SETTING_VERSION_ERROR (0xC0040050)
decided to just buy a new one and call this a learning experience. could have lost a lot more on this same lesson if it were a more expensive purchase. going to be sure the next phone I set my mind on rooting is something more common with a bigger scene around it so in the worst case there are more cases of the same problems I'd be having and less complicated solutions. searching the error above, for example, not a single result. doesn't seem like something anybody has ever run into and asked about. I'm just not technically minded or experienced enough to work past it.
thanks again for all of your help though.

I installed the drivers, I made sure I had the right auth file, best I can tell the xi+ I was working on was running on different hardware and needed (even if only slightly) different firmware than the device the firmware and scatter files provided were taken from.
even a slight difference is enough to bork tools that rely on the chipset (among other things, being just part of why this struck me as so complex) to function at all. I contacted the developer of spft and got nothing helpful in response, probably because he assumed I was trying to flash totally different firmware to a totally different phone or something and I'd imagine they spend a lot of time dealing with "help y can't i put this iphone firmware on my lg phone" stuff so don't even bother replying in that situation.
the big takeaway from all of this for me is to not go getting in over my head working on devices without huge userbases/a modding scene surrounding them. that's the difference between having a tool like odin to make this exact problem of mine trivial, and not being able to find a single copy of the correct firmware or the scatter/auth file that's needed short of learning how to make those things myself which is just above my skill level and I'm not afraid to admit as much.

What do I mean by READ.
See: I did not read in your messages any correct mention of the device model. Therefore, it was also not reported what exactly was the problem that caused all this.
Any electronic device today can have several problems and also several solutions. It all depends on the settings, the state of the device and the causes / actions of the problem.
As you mention ODIN, also needed to install certain ROMs, SPFT is for Mediatek. But which OS are you definitely using? Win? Linux? MaC?
Did you try to uninstall the Sansumg drivers? Install the MTK drivers again? Is it correct for the pc OS?
At first glance, let everyone know the correct model of the device, since there are about 3 models for Vivo Xi+.
In addition, I saw the images with the SPFT showing MT6765! This is for the Vivo Xi (not +) device!!

Yes, you may know that Vivo Xi+ is MT6771. So I ask you if you are absolutely sure you have the correct ROM stock ?!
Do not get me wrong. Problems have to be detailed for good help information.
P.S: You look about new stock ROM added? This the stock ROM model to your device?

BLU the device manufacturer is shìt ...
i have BLU VIVO XI and it's written on the box it came in free upgrade Android 9 Pie but it's been 2 years and im still running Android 8.1. I didn't receive any OTA or whatsoever also this is my first time to see a device when you factory reset it .. it install 5 fùcking games( you receive different game every reset the possibilities is unlimited lmao ) from playstore that i don't even need because paid advertisement *cough* money *cough* for the company
the phone is great no issue but yeah this would be my last BLU phone

I know I'm late, but I think that your backup had some modem cache. That modem cache is interfering with your rom.

But I never read about A9 (update firmware) to BLU Vivo Xi.

Unfortunately is not only BLU company so others brands OEMnot updating firmware version for some devices too.

Try Shuame
I've bought one of these Doogee DG100 smartphones, had it about a month now, and it's really excellent value for the price - I can't find anything I don't like about it. Well built, great phone and I'd highly recommend it. Well, Ok, the plastic fake leather cover's a bit naff, but hey.
I've rooted it using SRSRoot, flashed the latest firmware from the Doogee download site and I use MKTDroid for ADB access etc.
I removed all of the junk I didn't want, and removed the preloaded apps (twitter, whatsapp, skype etc) and reinstalled them from the Play Store - I didn't trust that some of them wouldn't update properly.
Managed to brick it too by doing dumb stuff, but the Doogee Flashtool just let me reflash the firmware and away it goes again.
Seems pretty bullet proof. Let me know if you get stuck and I'll try to help out.
Good luck!

Hi,
I don't know if it's because it's all written in Chinese when I get to the page with the actual zip on it or if it's because I'm blind and am missing some important visual cue on the page, but I can't figure out how to download the firmware or how to get the tools. Any advice on this? I even tried looking at the source code to see if there is a direct link to the file, but it's all full of JavaScript.
Incidentally, is there any indication on the site as to whether we might expect a newer version of Android on this phone in the future?

If you use the SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1320.0.174, you will manage to overcome that problem, but then you'll face the real one. The real problem is that your, phone like mine too, has a different version LCD display, that needs firmware 0926 to work right. If you use 0917, phone will flash, reboot, but show garbage on screen. I am asking Doogee to provide me the 0926 firmware (the one that my phone had installed when it arrived 5 days ago), but they don't reply to my mails. It also seems that the new display is not IPS as the earlier versions, as it greys while on angle and shows color shifting (obvious even with garbage on screen...).
I am waiting for a second DG100 within next week, so if anyone can share a way about extracting 0926 firmware from it, i would be obliged...

Doogee announced new firmwares, 0926 and 1101 for DG100 at their site. Try 1101 first and then the 0926.
Solution
I solved the problem of the error 4032, steps:
1) i used windows xp, i don't know if it will work in windows 7.
2) i did use firmware 9_26 and flashtools v3.1328.
3) select the scatter of the firmware 9_26, leave marked only PRE-LOADER and click in DOWNLOAD.
4) Keep pushed (power) + (volume -) and connect the cable to the pc. You must see the red line, then purple and finally the green circle, then disconnect the cable.
5) Now unmark PRE-LOADER and mark the rest of the options and click in DOWNLOAD; then connect the cable keeping the buttons (power) + (volume -) pushed; now you must see the red line, then the yellow line and the green circle.
Thanks to Asterisd for your advice.

I use Chrome which seems to auto-translate and gives me a Chinglish version of the screens, which makes it a lot easier.
I assume you got to the pan.baidu download site? If so, in the middle of the screen there is an icon that looks a bit like a suitcase. Above and to the right there are two rectangular buttons, one blue and the other unfilled. Click the unfilled one. A popup window will appear with another two rectangular buttons at the top, one blue and one unfilled. Again click the unfilled one. That should start the download.
This site has a list of the latest downloads: http://www.doogee.cc/en/gb/xiazai.asp - I'm currently running DG100-0917 and about to try DG100-1101
Hope that helps.

What's the exact wording of the message(s) you get? I recall I had some difficulty with this and googled how to overcome it, including deleting incorrect application IDs and certificates from one of the Android files - sorry, I can't now remember exactly what steps I followed but if you can post the exact message I'll try to help.
I don't think I was able to get Facebook to update from Play, no matter what I did. I think I read somewhere that this might be to do with one of the themes that Doogee / Mediatek use being incompatible with later versions of Facebook.
Anyway, please post the message(s) and I'll see what I can do.
Cheers.

I would advise NOT upgrading to this version and if anyone finds a fix for the Wi Fi issue' please post here, thanks

Welcome to the BLU Life One Wiki: Where you can find all sorts of information about this device.
BLU Products Development Team is brought to you by G+ & Facebook.
We are an open community/group, this community is dedicated to anyone who owns a device made by BLU.
We are here to help in any way we can, so do not hesitate to ask questions.
Below I will post various Information/root tools/mods/ect for the BLU Life One.
***IMPORTANT READ BELOW***
Before we begin, to relieve some confusion with the information inside of the the links below: The BLU LIFE ONE is a device very similar to another phone called the Micromax Canvas 4 or should I rather say that device is very similar to the Life One, anyways I wanted to let you guys know because on some of the links posted down below you will notice that some of the ROMS/Root tools are for the Canvas 4 but do not be afraid. THIS IS NORMAL :good:, the Micromax Canvas 4 is the exactly the same as the Blu Life One. They both run on a MediaTek MT6589 A7 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. So ALL of the custom ROMS out for that device should & will work on our device

Insecure boot.img for Blu Life One, L120, version 6.1
Here is a modified boot.img with ro.secure=0 and ro.debuggable=1 set in default prop, to allow rooted adb. only of benefit if you need to capture boot logs etc. Kernel is unmodified.
This is from BLO software version 6.1 from the 8/08/13 ota update. If you're running something else, use caution.
After backing up your original (see below), apply by entering bootloader, holding down both volume buttons during power on, then go to recovery and select fastboot.
Then on your computer:
fastboot flash boot bootimg.BLO-L120.v6.1.insecure.img
fastboot continue
It works for me once flashed, but the normal caveats apply eg your new paperweight. If for any reason it doesn't work or you need to restore your original, you should hopefully be able to apply your backup bootimg with the same method. I cannot get this or the original bootimg to boot 'live' from fastboot, without flashing.
First, make a backup of your original bootimg on your phone with dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 bs=512 skip=68608 count=12288 of=/sdcard/bootimg.orginal.img
and then
adb pull /sdcard/bootimg.orginal.img off your phone

Is it correct that one can use Micromax Canvas 4 roms?
Hi there, based on my experience you can use the Micromax Canvas 4 ROM's. We aware of one thing: in my case I've lost some of the radio 3G frequencies by flashing a Micromax ROM and I had to go back to the stock ROM. This may or may not affect you depending on where you are, in my case I lost AT&T's 3G and had to go back. NeroD is working on a fix, so we could basically flash the radio (modem.img), on top of any Micromax ROM and get all the frequencies back. I'll report once it's done.
Modem/Radio if you use a Micromax ROM
Hi there,
If you use a Micromax Canvas 4 ROM on the BLU L120 (Life One), you'll loose some of the phone radio 3G bands and, of course, the 3G data speed in the US (at least with AT&T). The phone will only connect at EDGE speeds. This happens because a different radio, specific for the Micromax, get's flashed with the ROM. This has been my experience.
There's a solution: I've created a flashable .zip file that you can use in CWM right after you have flashed your favorite ROM.
I've tried it with the PureXperiaZ2 ROM and it works perfectly fine! Again, just flash the ROM and, then flash the attached .zip and you'll have the stock radio for the BLU on a Micromax ROM.
Enjoy!
add additional language BLU Life One L120
Hello guys i'm writing you here because i'm having a huge problem with my phone. My phone is BLU Life One L120 DUAL SIM and it's running Android 4.2.1, the Kernel version is 3.4.5 (brought from USA - Unlocked) and is having only 5,6 system languages... and all i need is my Bulgarian language, because i want to give it to my mother to use it..
I've tried bunch of ****s and i've read a lot of stuff but it didn't change my language... for example, i've used app named More Locale 2., i've watched some videos and made some tries with Android language project app & etc... but it didn't help
I've rooted my device, i've installed ROM manager but he's not recognizing my phone so i'm having also problem there, because i can't flash anything and i don't know what to do...
I was planning to reinstall the OS and try all of that all over again, but without the ClockworkMod recognition i'm helpless and i can't do almost anything.. I've also installed app "Flasher", which in the begining started to work only with the .zip files (cause i was having 1,2 prepared zips from Android language project programme) but still it didn't helped
So... I'm asking you, can you please give me some advice how to fix this problem and give my ****ing phone to my mother finally, because she's very annoying somethimes..
Can someone help me? I tried rooting my phone using each method but they all say failed. My drivers are correctly installed and i followed each instruction correctly. Is there something else I can do?

Baseband version unknown
Hi,
I have a BLO L200 and I installed a custom ROM. Then the "Baseband version" has changed to "unknown" and I can't make calls. The SIM Card management doesn't work anymore.
So I flashed back a STOCK ROM and the problem remains.
(I have a backup of IMEI)
Can someone help me, please?
Hello,
I have a problem, my Wi-Fi connection is slower than before and i don't know the reason which made it like this.
(only takes signal from close distance)
I rooted the device before couple of months and my recovery is TWRP, i tried to do soft reset the phone, but it is not working either - actually it's doing it in the beginning, but when it restarts - nothing has changed, all the apps are there, everything's there
Then I moved forward to step two - hard reset, it's not giving me to enter the recovery mode (not TWRP, not CWM, nothing..) - it's showing the boot screen of BLU and again it runs normally without any change at all. I tried enter cwm/twrp from the phone, using the SyS Updater app, TWRP app, CWM app for factory reset and again, no change...
I removed the sim card & memory card, it's not that... i don't know what else could i do. It's dual sim phone, do you thing it has some meaning ?
Can you advice me somehow or have anyone having the same/similar problem ?

Bro, it sure sounds like you: (a) do not have BUSYBOX installed on the phone, and/or (b) you forgot to turn USB DEBUGGING back on!
Don't forget to hit THANKS if I helped. Happens to the best of us. Duh! LOL.
Hi,
I know I'm late to the party but I just picked up a BLU Life One cheap. So far I like the phone but the one thing driving me crazy is that after about 10 seconds the screen dims - whether auto-brightness is checked or not. I've found that it corresponds to the capacitive buttons (back, menu, home) turning off. It's surprising that there is no setting to keep the lights on or off.
I have rooted and installed Xposed Framework but have yet to find the module that can control this. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Edit:
So I've discovered that the screen dimming issue is a BLU thing. After flashing a couple of the Micromax A210 roms, the screen dimming issue goes away. Unfortunately, my data speeds drop down to edge, as pointed out by cabegol. I tried flashing his modem fix, but to no avail. I will try again next weekend when I have more time to play with the phone.
Been looking for information on the new Blu Life One 4g LTE (Blu really needs to deal with their screwed-up phone naming scheme) with no joy. Suggestions?
looking at this phone for my kid
My daughter ended up with my gen one galaxy nexus.
now that i am equiping the kids with phones, I expected her to want an iphone. Nope, she likes her android.
So it looks like i need to pick a phone. This one looks pretty good.
Is everyone happy with it?

I recently got the new Blu Life One. Is my first Android phone, and i choose it because it was really cheap on Amazon. I'm happy with it right now, but, if you want more info about it, you should look for a review or wait until it became more popular in this forum.
Hope this would help.
Hello everyone, i have a problem with soft & hard reset of my phone.
If my thread is not on the right place, move it then, i apologize.
I am going to give you as much as information i have. My phone is BLU Life One L120 which is having a duplicate Micromax Canvas 4 A210 which is having the same chipset as i read into my thread for my BLU. Basically what i want to do now is just to soft or hard reset my phone... it sound easy i know but i wouldn't be asking if i haven't got an issue.
First of all i am using stock version 4.2.1 and kernal 3.4.5
I believe that i am having my drivers which i found in my official BLU Life One thread - http://d-h.st/U8e , also i tried with All MTK USB drivers 2014 http://androidurdu.net/mediatek-adb-...t65xx-support/
However i am able to transfer files between my pc & phone but when i try to root the device (i tried with Kingo root/ One click root/ Framaroot) it isn't recognizing my device or is unplugged, which is not true. I remember that once ago i installed TWRP recovery but i can't access from there no longer and i don't know the reason of that, otherwise i would reset it from there. Eventually recently i uninstalled superSU app and now i don't have root access anymore, which grow as a problem also. I checked it with RootChecker app. Also when i was doing both the soft and hard reset i removed the both SIMs & SD card just to be sure that i am doing it right.
When i use the soft reset it's giving me the option to run it but when it restarts it's all the same, nothing changes. It's the same with hard reset when i try to enter into Recovery mode.
Q: Why do i want to soft & hard reset it ?
A1: The first reason is that not a long ago my wi-fi signal got weaker despite that i'm next to my router and it was not like that when i bought it firstly and i want to use it instead of paying for it. I read a lot of stuff, but i can't find anything exactly the same.. which is why that i believe that if i reset it, it may went back normally.
A2: The second reason is that i just want to change my factory rom with a custom one, because the phone is having a great performance
Latest information is that i rooted again the phone with Framaroot, i've checked it just to be sure, i've installed the TWRP img file.... and still - no change with the same steps i made before, i'm starting to think that its maybe a hardware issue ?
I do need your help and i'd be very satisfied if i get it :highfive:

Blu development

Let's get the ball rolling with this thing... I am new to blu
Search shows SP Flash tool as a main flash tool.
I expect to get root with towel root or kingroot.
If we do acquire root, the next step is to dump a stock ROM, I haven't done much dev. since jellybean, but hopefully we could map partitions (important), and do a raw dump (.img) backup, etc. A secure kernel, could prevent that, I think. If we are able to make or acquire a stock ROM, we have something to fall back on. There's always hope, they will allow unlock of bootloader from developer options in settings, or fastboot oem unlock. It looks like quite a few other blu devices have been unlocked. If worst came to worst, I'm sure we could pony up some donations to get this device into a developers hands to help.
Once we get bootloader unlocked, all we need is a custom recovery, and some source code bits, and its off to the builds, we hope!
Please share any beginning steps to help get things moving here....
this looks promising.. http://androidxda.com/download-mtk-droid-tool
Thanks!
Yes let's get the ball rolling. I'm eagerly waiting for this device. The source for the x10 is released so it looks like we're in the green for now.

No luck with either of those. I've tried a lot of "one-click" apks and none of them work. It looks like I'm going to have to dig out an old desktop from my basement and make myself a Windows machine (urgh!!). I agree, Sp Flash Tools and MK Droid Tools look like a good place to start.
SP Flash Tool for Linux
I've been trying to get my linux (Ubuntu 14.04) to recognize the phone with this s/w but no luck so far, even though the system finds it (see screenshot).

You kernel messages suggest you have the Allview version... Is it possible that software or partitioning differences in the default load of the Allview vs. the Blu may make a difference in whether the root apps work?

So it could be too soon to assume that the current rooting apps won't work on the Blu phone just because they don't work on the Allview. That is, if Blue has their own software stack they install that is different than the Allview...
Rooting from PC failed
I now have a Windows 7 machine running so I've tried a couple of root from pc apps.
Drivers http://androidxda.com/download-gionee-usb-drivers
I installed the Gionee E8 drivers from here successfully - or so Windows said.
Root Genius v2.4.1 http://androidxda.com/download-root-genius-application
First ticked "USB debugging" under "Developer options" on phone. Ran Root Genius and it found the phone first time. Click on "Allow Computer" box that pops up on phone. Root Genius started, got to a couple of % and then crashed. Rebooted PC, clicked on "Revoke USB debugging authorisation" for a clean start and tried again. Same result; click "Allow computer", start program and crash. Tried a couple more times with same result.
iRoot v1.8.5 http://androidxda.com/download-iroot-application-all-versions
Used same procedures as with Root Genius. iRoot started, found the phone, went all the way though it's operations before reporting that rooting failed (i.e. it did not crash). Retried a couple of times with the same result.
The only plus is that the driver I used appears to be OK for Windows 7 at least (both programs found the phone).
Later I tried Kingo Root http://androidxda.com/root-android-device-using-kingo-root
It couldn't find the phone using the driver I previously used or it's own driver, although the "Allow computer" box popped up on the phone both times

Cool... It's good to test this stuff. More information is always a good thing.
BUT, since the software / partitions of the Blu Pure XL phone will almost certainly be different than the Allview phone you have your tests really don't really tell us anything about the Pure XL for certain. The hardware may be exactly the same (or there may be differences in the radios) but if the software and / or partition layout is different then what works on your phone may not work on the Pure XL and vice versa.
So I'd request that you keep posting your useful information... BUT that you clearly post that you don't actually have a Blu Pure XL but the Allview phone so you don't confuse people. Yes, they may be based on the same hardware but that does not make them exactly the same as one another. For example, there are different versions of the LG G4 and they all have pretty much the same hardware but they can't all use the same ROMS or the same rooting techniques.
So what you are posting helps because more data is better, but is not definitive for the Pure XL because your phone is NOT a Pure XL.
Thanks,
Carl

Please don't stop posting your test results! Just let people here know they're for the Allview and thus may not be the same as what would happen on the Pure XL. But it's also quite possible that your phone is exactly the same with the same software and layout just with cosmetic changes. We just don't know yet. It's also possible that your phone could be flashed to be exactly the same as the Pure XL even if it's not out of the box. In any case it's definitely useful information you are providing!
@xathras - Have you tried flashing SuperSU from recovery or otherwise injecting root from a recovery package?

Flashing SU from recovery fails and although I haven't tried the other option I'm fairly sure that that would fail too, due to /system being a secure read only partition. It is going to take someone with the necessary skills to extract boot.img, make the needed changes and re-packing it. I've seen a webpage for a china wholesaler for the Gionne version of this phone who offers an "unlock and root" option for $2.99 per device, so it must be doable.

Great! You were one step ahead, that was going to be my next suggestion. Now with an unlocked bootloader you should be able to make a TWRP and flash whatever you want including injecting su or flashing a completely modified ROM with root.
Posting this here so we can have a to go to thread.

Now that some of you look like your'e about to get your hands on this device I'll post a few of the resources you might need. The MediaTek X10 Helio (mt6795 based) is only now beginning to appear in phones; there is little help from devs as yet (Hey! Your'e An Early Adopter). The Gionee version has just gone on sale in India so something (in English) might appear there soon. Due to MTK devices being common in Asia you'll find a lot of help in sites there.

This tool does not work on this phone because it can't recognize the new 64-bit SOCs. I thought that when it found my phone it might work but the "TotalBytesPerChunk Not Found" error (see attached screenshot) is fatal. However, it does do one useful thing in that it displays a blocks map even thought it can't create a scatter file. I'd like to know if the Allview and Blu blocks maps match.
MTK Droid Tools is sadly no longer being maintained.
Attached files are the MTK Droid Tools screenshot (too big - had to zip it) and the Allview build.prop file. I'd be interested in seeing the Blu version.

Can we as a community keep hammering Mediatek to release the helio x10 sources so we can start porting roms to the pure xl? I'm doing my fair share of posting on their social media sites. We'll be able to get 6.0 if they post up the sources. They had them up on github but they removed them I don't know why.

Dude you're awesome at researching and finding useful Intel! I'm going to go over everything you've provided over course of today and tomorrow and start working on the phone. I should get it by tomorrow evening. I built my own rom before privately so hopefully I have enough know how to get Development rolling in here. I just hope I can motivate others of better skills to come over once it's proven roms can be ported over and such.

In my Allview build.prop there's a line that says "ro.gn.gnromvernumber=GiONEE ROM5.0.16". I'd be very interested in knowing what your Blu build.prop has to say.

Yes, it is bad that we do not have a dedicated section for Vibe X3 yet.
I think we should be able to use Moto X Pure ROMs on this phone easily but most probably the finger print sensors won't work and there might be issues with camera since they are using different sensors.
If you already have the phone, can you try any of the ROMs from the Moto X Pure ROMs. Please make sure you take a nandroid backup of your phone first before you do so.
I tried asking in Moto X forums, but they don't seem to be interested in this.

There is already a thread in XDA trying to root Vibe X3,check this out.
Take a look at this video to enter recovery mode and then you can try flashing Moto X Pure TWRP recovery. Make sure to take a backup of your phone first because anything may go wrong in the middle.

Np Welcome to XDA, press the thanks button at the bottom right corner if you want to thank someone :good:
Anyways, try Autoroot and see if that helps.
If even that doesn't work, try going to the fastboot mode as shown in that video and flash TWRP recovery directly, then you can flash any rom that has root but that might be even harder
Anyways since Lenovo has already released the source code for Vibe X3, I think it is only a matter of time before someone comes up with a way to root the device.
Hopefully many people buy this phone and we get a good community support for this device...

Oh then welcome to the Android world!
You may find that Android by default even without rooting is more customisable than iOS.
Let me know if you were not able to get root by AutoRoot also...
You can try directly via the fastboot method from that video or by the flashing tool for lenovo phones just use our Vibe X3 rom to flash instead of the Lenovo A850 mentioned in that link and I guess that should work.
And always backup your device before doing any of these since it may brick your device...

Yes , but i felt some Cons with Android OS , just used this for first time and from 6 days ,
1. you can install cracked apps or modded apps without rooting , but using Modded apps leads you to get banned , but in iOS we make tweaks which enhances your app feature never let get you banned except for Snapchat.
2.While Flashing Firmaware there is high risk to get bricked , but never in iOS either jailbreaking or if you get stuck just restore your device
now i downloaded TWRP for Moto X style cuz for Vibe X3 not available , also i don't have stock firmware VibeUI 3.0 , if anything happens how do i revert back .
no issues i don't give up , will definately find a way to make it possible

i got my answer
I guess you guys didn't follow my posts.
I'm pretty sure we need a developer version of ROM (like MIUI devices) to unlock the bootloader. Because everytime I ran the oem unlock command earlier I was prompted with an error saying I cannot run this command on the user version. And Lenovo calls the stable ROM as User version and they have Developer versions too. Atleast for the Chinese variants.
Everything is properly available for the Chinese variants of the phone here : http://www.vibeui.com/vibeui/download
But, there's nothing for the ROW variant anywhere.
I contacted the technical support via live chat to get the stock ROM so that we may attempt some dirty stuff(like trying to flash the Chinese variant's ROM).
The person told me to visit a service center for getting it. I contacted the service center and luckily they answered the call after multiple tries. They told I can come and get it from there.
I couldn't visit them that day, probably will try on 29th.
It seems we can get the stock ROM at first but yeah, you never know about these people. Maybe the person who received my call didn't really understand my request.
Let's see how it goes.

Im now working on removing orange status warning (only meaning unlocked bootloader with 5 sec. delay)
I did extract my stock image in .bin dump as well as extracting .img partitions from this dump. I tried the few online methods of altering the lk.bin hex and reflash leading to no boot, no lights, no nothing as if a security encryption signature principal must be in place, to put a halt if not matched. Not sure but could sure use some advice, Im kinda new at this.
I've also been trying to figure out how to port a twrp recovery, which i also attempted, flashed, same result-phone black, no boot, so i flashed back original, back to normal,(what a scare on such a dead response!!- holding power button down and nothing) So ive softbricked twice, and recovered twice without a problem.
Specs
Helio p22 mtk chipset (6762)
4.19.127 kernel android 11
I do realize each phone has different specific source and understand this determines if twrp compatible, correct me if im wrong my friends, im just learning and open, one more thing, ive gotten a status of p22 from installed play store app device info, cpu-z. no root permission. mtk _client tool gives me p35 as my processor which is the (6735). Maybe the difference is negligible in the two 2 readings? or the mtk_client is old and rounds the 6762 to 6765, as maybe there differences are small enough to ignore 62-65 differences? Like i mentioned Im very new, and though ive researched a lot, this is tough, but i must say, I love a good game of chess!!!!
. Ive currently got two of these phones and Im starting from scratch tryna do the same thing you are. So at least youre not alone. I figured id kinda follow the guide for the b130dl (since that seems to have so much success even with other variants and devices) idk how much help I will be, seeing as I havent done any development of any kind for about 5 years.... But since I have 2, lmk if there is anything kinda risky you wanna try. (After I catch up of course)
Yeah right on, im goin at orange status removal once again, I did do a little homework, and beleive the inability to flash any custom partition is due to encryption of partitions by dm verity and or AVB preventing boot even if rooted? Not sure exactly but reading and learning. btw my friend, Im Rob, pleasure to meet. I dont know any coding, though ready to learn, just mods a bit, though im relatively new to that as well, but i try being creative, and was stoked I actually pulled off root on this newer phone, unlocked the bootloader with mtk_client, from git-hub, no problem : https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct...er/mtkclient&usg=AOvVaw1EA0UgBcE8bbeVuiVn4L7c
I then read all partitions to my laptop which dumped in .bin form, from there i looked everywhere for a root on this phone. too new, as i found nothing. That made me think if mtk_gui could pull off unlocking the bl, what else can it do? So read its readme a bit and noticed the magisk root using adb and fastboot, with accompaning custom magisk for mtk. Thought i was probably wasting my time as this phones security is newer. Well, it worked, so bootloader down, root accomplished with magisk, now this orange state, which i tried online hex manipulation of lk.bin file and flashed it to original lk.bin partition on phone, no boot. Tried making a custom logo.bin and same flash, no boot. So used my mtk_client tool to flash my backup abov 2 partitions and, booted right up, no problem which led me to investigate this vb meta and AVB which im currently trying to grasp. Oh and yes i figured out how to take a complete flash dump into a .bin file with mtkclient, so I have backup of partitions from this tool by reading partitions section, and also backup by using the read flash option under flash in the tool. It gave me one giant file called user.bin. I researched what bin and img files are and learned we can use 7 zip or any storage compress/decompress software or cd iso software to open bin files, so preceded with 7 zip on user.bin file and was able to extract the partitions in .img format, really cool, so now i have backup in3 styles lol .bin partitions, .img partitions or 1 .bin complete rom dump which when opened with 7 zip gives you the img forms, been fun, but this orange state and security stuff seems a bit tricky to understand, so thats where im at my freind, Let me know you need any help, Good idea about starting with previous phone guide, my thoughts exactly as well when i started gettin my hands dirty lol What a universe in these gadgets, awesome
Is there anyway you could post a guide of sorts. Looking to unlock the bootloader and root (aren't we all).
Am relatively new at this. Last phone I rooted before this year was the Epic Touch! Please at least list which downloads are needed. Thanks in advance. *Jaymi*
Thsi a Specs by your phone?
Okay. Let's go to the beginning.
I have a friend who knows how to handle Mediatek phones. He even has a BLU MT6762 with Android 9. He compiled the TWRP himself. Maybe compile one to you.
I'll try to send him a message to know if he can help you.
But the bigger question is about the original firmware (without ROOT/Magisk). Have you tried using the Smart Phone Flash Tool (SPFT) to copy all the firmware? Is there an official stock firmware? So you could use the scatter.txt file to use SPFT.
If you couldn't use SPFT then were you forced to use mtk_client?
To unlock bootloader, can you use this guide?: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...om-rom-on-a-blu-g90-pro.4253737/post-85180967
Update:
Okay. He agreed to help. He asked someone to put the stock recovery.img file attached to the message and information about fastboot:
Code:
fastboot getvar all
and fastbootd:
Code:
fastboot getvar all
Furthermore an experienced user should contact him to test the TWRP files he will compile. So think hard if you can get your phone back to normal if something strange happens. Usually just reinstall the stock file and everything will be simple. One more detail: you should be able to understand that the test needs the phone with the full wipe process and without using magisk at the moment.

Hey guys, I am a total noob with android but I have this same model hone and I have a custom OS. I'm not sure what it means outside of:
"my crazy ex gf managed to get spyware on my new phone like the day after she got the cops to take my old one (Jan 12th) and has been ruining what's left of my sad existence"
But google isn't giving me any results for this firmware version or really this model phone at all so if it would help people working on modding it and there is a way I could like dump the data from it somewhere?

Can someone show me how to do this? it appears OP has been offline and nobody ever got around to actually SHARING THIS METHOD OF BOOTLOADER UNLOCK... I used to unlock my phones bootloaders all the time around 2014 but the game has changed and now you gotta edit files on notepad and download github sources it seems...

I kept getting handshake error also. Then I started getting device not configured. Have you made any headway?
One more thing, out of curiosity I ran the command "fastboot flashing lock" and I got a menu that asked Do you wish to LOCK BOOTLOADER? Locking your BOOTLOADER will wipe your device of all DATA! You must then flash your phone with a stock ROM.
Looking into this device myself and having a hard time. I haven't rooted a phone since a droid x2 and back then i did it with some kind of software through an ubuntu terminal. Not sure what's being used now but has anyone been able to do this or can anyone offer any tips or guidance?

MTK Client and Python with Chimera exploit can supposedly do it. Look to GitHub. Hope you enjoy a challenge. I have made little problems.
ive been playing with this all day and its safe to say this is impossible with currently released tech on the latest security updates. the only way youre going to be able to do this is if youre able to force the phone into brom mode. doesnt seem possible from where im standing unless that can be done, would have to be done through a hardware mod.

in case i wasnt clear, if you are on 2021 security updates with this phone (i.e. havent updated it or just got it and declined updates) you can easily unlock the phone with mtkclient and root with magisk; however if you've installed the 2022 security updates, brom mode is basically disabled making it impossible to unlock the phone.

Run the fastboot command "fastboot flashing lock". Do that and tell me what you think. Trust me. Just be sure to read the prompt on your phone.
