I returned my Xiomi Poco X3....for a variety of reasons and I'm back to my Samsung A50. I've decided my next phone will be the Nokia 8.3 BUT only if I can move apps to the SD card (I couldn't with the Poco).
So can one move apps to the SD card?

Hi everyone,
My friends who's making a world tour on bike just bought a smartphone to help him in his journey.
The MTT Smart Robust (can't put the exact link but it's easy to find on google)
We added a sim card of 64GB in it and tried to move applications on it because the internal memory is only of 4 GB.
We encountered a surprise when inside the phone there were an internal memory of 2GB, a phone memory of 2GB and the SD card.
And when we try to export the applications they never end up on the SD card.
Can you explain to us how to bypass the phone memory which looks like an other sd card (and act like one since the exportation of the applications ends up on it) ?
Because, we are trying to install application with offline maps and also google traduction offline. 4GB is not enough
Thansk in advance for your answer !
Sorry to up this topic but we could really use some help
Isn't there a way to bypass this intermediate phone memory to use the real sd card to export the applications ?
Thanks in advance.
Why not replace the phone memory with the new sd card, just copy everything on phone memory to the new sd card first...

Thanks Talsadus, but the phone and internal memory are not accessible. That's the trick.
I don't know what the people who made this phone tried or if it's a normal doing but The only accessible sd card is the one we put. there are no other place. : /
If you go into Settings->Storage can you unmount the Internal SD Card that is acting as external SD Card?

We just look and there's no button to umount the phone memory which plays as an external sd card.
The phone is not rooted and I kind of don't want to do it because my friend just bought it. (for the warranty)
I currently use a Samsung A5 (2017) 32Gb with a 64Gb micro SD card for storing 20Gb of music and 20Gb of apps. If I get a Huawei P30 (128Gb storage and micro SD card) how should I move the apps and data/music from the Samsung to the Huawei? I assume if I just put the SD card into the Huawei the apps wouldn't work. I have a MacBookPro too so perhaps I could try the following:
1 Back up all the data from Samsung SD card onto MacBook Pro
2 Reformat the SD card in the P30 ie delete all the data on it
3 Insert the freshly formatted SD card into the MacBook and transfer the data onto it
4 Insert SD card into P30 and hope it reads all the data and Apps
What do you think?

The easiest way is probably install Huawei's Phone Clone on your Samsung and use that app to transfer all your photos, music, apps and etc.

Will the Phone Clone app transfer the apps and data from my SD card in the Samsung phone? If so that would be awesome. If not perhaps I could try the following:
1 Back up all the data from Samsung SD card onto MacBook Pro
2 Buy and then format a Huawei NM card on the P30
3 Using an adapter (ie NM to SD card) transfer the data from the MacBook onto the NM card
4 Insert NM card into P30 and hope it reads all the data and Apps
Of course the above assumes Huawei NM to SD card adapters exist. Do they?

Data (musics, videos, photos, documents) on SD card will be transferred, but I'm not sure about apps installed on SD card. You've to try it to find out.
By the way, some apps/games data transferring might not be supported, so don't hard reset your old phone until you're sure.
NM card reader do exist, but price could be expensive for the time being.
Greetings,
I just picked up a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019) from Costco, and have encountered a problem of not being able to transfer apps to the SD card. My 2017 Samsung Galaxy Tab A allows this option just fine. I have already enabled developer options and selected the option to force apps to SD card. I also go to the app information where I would see how much space it is using and then move eligible apps to SD on my old device. This new new device doesn't have that as an option. 3rd party apps like "App to SD card" do not work even after giving them permissions and selecting the developer option I explained above. One final point should be that I did format the SD card and there was not the option to format SD card as internal storage.....
Has Samsung sneakily removed this functionality from their newer devices? If so, are there any options for me?
Super disappointing. - Only 16 GB of internal memory and it does not allow me to transfer apps to the "included" SD card.
Does anybody have further information or advice?
Thank you so much,
I just have noticed that after update to android 10 I have all my app on internal memory and can not move them to the external SD card like before in Android 9. Is there any way to save apps on external SD card?
I am wondering the same thing
You just want to save a copy of the app?
The SD card data bus is slower than the internal memory one. You don't want the OS to need to access the SD card constantly when running an app.
Q is already hamstrung by its scoped storage as it is...
Hello and thanks for reading. Im new here and i am having problems with my Android. I can't manage to change the default app install from my Internal Storage to my SD card. My phone is POCO X3 PRO, OS is MIUI Global 13.0.1.
I tried developer options to "force allow apps to write on external storage" but the play store is still installing games on internal storage..... if anyone has any info about this i would very much appreciate it...
The option in the developer section is only for data, which are produced by the app, pictures taken by a camera app for example , which can be saved to sd card. The camera app itsself can not be moved to sd afaik since a9(?) you can not install apps definitly to sd, or you have to add the space of your SD Card to extend the amount of internal memory.... it is a longer time ago that you could put apps to sd with the so named app. But i didn´t use that app ever so i´m not really sure about that...
Use link2sd, work pretty well
