Is there any way how I can backup my apps before installing ROM, so I wouldn't need to redownload them after flashing my rom? And another question: How to install ROM to my device ?Do I need any special programs to do it? Device: HTC Trophy
I'm sure you found it by looking around or searching but, WPbackup does that....backups apps and settings...

As for installing a custom rom...it's easy but, you will have to downlaod your bootloader before unlocking and flashing a custom rom...

If your runninga 8835 rom now, your already running a custom rom, just need to backup, nuke and start over
Hi! Noob here, just wanna ask some questions.
Is rooting different with flashing a custom recovery, or do when we root we automatically installs custom recovery to our device?
And if I am rooting my phone using Framaroot, does it install a custom recovery to my device? Thanks
-----
UPDATE: Have been figured this out. So, Rooting doesnt mean installing a custom recovery.
I'm new to rooting and flashing roms and I'm getting really confused regarding the procedure to install custom recovery and custom rom.
My main points of confusion are-
1. In stock recovery we have a option to "Update from sd card" . Why can't we directly flash a custom rom from there and need a custom recovery.
2. If signature and verification is the problem regarding the first point then how can we root and flash custom recovery using update from sd card.
WHY DOESN'T ANY SIGNING OR VERIFICATION PROBLEM OCCUR WHILE FLASHING ROOT PACKAGE OR CUSTOM RECOVERY PACKAGE.
Like any other custom rom package they are also unsigned.
Kindly explain me. Thanks.

Hello,
The stock recovery is a minimal, limited system. It can generally only flash OTA updates and ROMs provided by the device’s manufacturer, not third-party ROMs
A custom recovery is a third-party recovery environment. Flashing this recovery environment onto your device replaces the default, stock recovery environment with a third-party, customized recovery environment. It does same thing as stock one, but with additional features.

I completely agree on that one BUT how do you install a custom recovery because it is a unsigned package(3rd party package) and so the stock recovery won't allow it to get installed.

I think before flashing recovery, you have to root the phone first.

For rooting as well I need to install the package which is unsigned and should not get installed in stock recovery .
Hi everyone,
My question is how do you install a insecure boot loader on a FRP-locked mobile phone without loosing your user-data? I've read that this is possible to do this but haven't been able to find any guides which explains this To clarify it I only want to install a insecure bootloader which enables adb and root access on the phone without losing the stored user-data so that you can make a complete backup of the user-data partition so that you could restore deleted files such as images.
The mobile phone I would like to try this on is a Samsung Galaxy S6 (SM-G920F) with Android 6.0.1 installed
Baseband G920FFXXU3DPCA
Build MMB29K.G920FFXXU3DPCU
Kernel 3.10.61-7575641
Thanks for any help in advance!
Hi, how does encryption and root get along?
I rooted, flashed TWRP and flashed a custom rom (decent rom) and now that I can install the email client to check work mails it asks me to encrypt the phone.
Will I be able to update the current rom if the phone is encrypted? And how about flashing a different rom?

It's possible. Not sure if he figured out how to update.
