Hi everyone,
My question is how do you install a insecure boot loader on a FRP-locked mobile phone without loosing your user-data? I've read that this is possible to do this but haven't been able to find any guides which explains this To clarify it I only want to install a insecure bootloader which enables adb and root access on the phone without losing the stored user-data so that you can make a complete backup of the user-data partition so that you could restore deleted files such as images.
The mobile phone I would like to try this on is a Samsung Galaxy S6 (SM-G920F) with Android 6.0.1 installed
Baseband G920FFXXU3DPCA
Build MMB29K.G920FFXXU3DPCU
Kernel 3.10.61-7575641
Thanks for any help in advance!

Hi Guys,
I don't know if this is the right section to post this question, I'm new in the forum.
I just kept my ex boyfriend tablet and now I'm experimenting with it, but I have a few questions:
If I want to use Odin to flash a custom kernel , let's say rj's Kernel, do I need to have the bootloader unlocked ?
How do I unlock the boot loader for Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0 International version ?
Could you please help me Unlock the bootloader ? Could you please explain if I need the bootloader unlocked to install a custom kernel with ODIN ?
Do I need the bootloader unlocked to install a recovery and then do a Nandroid backup and then install a custom kernel ?
Device:
Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0 - YP-G70 International version.

To flash a ROM or recovery and do a NAndroid backup you need an unlocked bootloader.
To unlock your bootloader, use this Windows program: http://www.mediafire.com/?f3gi19g1zz3frg3
I hope this helps you, but don't forget, with unlocking your bootloader, all your data will be erased!

well with this device im not sure if you need to unlock the bootloader. some need the bootloader unlocked some don't. i would ask in the official forums for the Player http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-player you need to tell them its international as well.
Thanks Guys, it has been really helpful.
Could you please let me know the name of the program I have to use to unlock the bootloader for this device?
I've been reading like crazy and I understood when I unlock all data will be lost, but that's not a problem at all.
Then I would like to flash rj's kernel which comes with Clockworkmod and then from there I would be interested in doing some Nandroid backups and installing cyanogenmod.
In fact I would like to be able to do a backup even before installing a custom kernel so I can preserve the original kernel and android, I installed an application called something like nandroid backup and I managed to do a backup compatible with clockworkmod but the thing is that it skipped the boot and recovery folders, so it makes me think the bootloader is locked.
Please any comments are very welcome.
If there is anyone here from Ft. Lauderdale we could even meet in a mall and do the thing together with the laptop.
Thanks again for all your help honeys

Like I said your going to want to hit up the official forums but I'm keeping a lookout for a way. There has to be a way if there's custom ROMs already
Hi!
I was wondering if it is possible to bypass a locked bootloader and install a custom recovery/ ROM using ADB and Fastboot?
I'd like to install a custom ROM for the first time. My device is rooted and I have SU installed but I think the bootloader is locked
My device is:
Archos 50 Titanium
Android 4.2.2
Dual SIM
SIM Free (When I bought it)
VERY hard to find information regarding this specific model.
Thank you in advance
Hi people. I am new to this game. I have rooted xperia z3 (kitkat 4.4.4), locked bootloader, cwm/twrp/philz installed, T/A partition backed up.
I am going to ask a series of questions and hope that someone has the patience to answer (some of) them. I'm trying to get an overview of what is possible and what is dangerous.
1)Can I flash stock firmware without unlocking bootloader? Or does flashing always need unlocked BL?
2)Is there a way to update to Lollipop without losing root?
3)If I unlock BL and flash a custom rom can I then reinstall apps and data backed up with Titanium?
4)What happens if I restore my T/A partition whilst running custom rom. Will camera function be restored/improved?
5)If I'm running a custom rom can I enter recovery on startup in the usual way and reinstall a backed-up image of stock rom and data (nandroid??) in the usual way?
6)If the answer to 5) is 'yes', when do I restore T/A partition?
7)If the answer to 5) is 'no', how do I get back to rooted stock rom, locked BL and DRM keys intact?
8)Should I just forget about all that and install Xposed...?
I hope it's ok to ask that lot. I wait with bated breath and thanks in advance...
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. It looks like you know where your device's specific forum is. But just in case it's here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3 That is the best place to ask your questions as they are the experts on your device.
Hey smart people!
Anyone know how to root a Sonim XP7? I will gladly donate something to your favorite charity if your rooting solution works!
So far towelroot.apk doesn't work. I know how to use ADB but don't feel comfortable pushing a new boot loader without being able to backup and restore the existing one.
Here are some numbers from the About phone tab

Hey,
Would be happy to help you root your Sonim XP7 running KitKat 4.4.4 ---- In return I ask for a factory ROM image. This will in turn benefit you as well. I messed up my own when doing a custom Lollipop ROM, and would rather not build from scratch or send it back to Sonim. ... yeah I didn't back it up beforehand
Also -- Sonim now has a 5.1 Lollipop version available, I've extracted the FOTA (Update Image) as well. First thing we'd need to do is backup the entire storage setup, can help with this. There are some tools you'll need.
Shoot me a e-mail -- [email protected] and I'll drop you my Skype.
Thanks,
Justin
Hey. Root received via kingoroot. I can remove the firmware dumps. Who bought XP7, I can not forgive him via fastboot, drivers are installed, but the firmware is not. Before was XP7, pierced him through fastboot, without any problems. What could be the problem?
Stuck in recovey
jeagle24, do you think you could help me out? I had my sonim xp7 rooted and i updated the firmware via the factory way. now my phone is stuck in recovery and i do not have a factory rom to flash it.
Has anybody had any luck pulling the factory files off? My XP7 was stock, I did a factory reset and now its stuck at the sonim logo. I can get access to recovery and fastboot, I have tried a factory reset etc. I think I need to fastboot flash boot.img
It sounds like rooting doesn't work for the xp7
Hi guys,
I got a spare European S6 and I want to load a custom ROM.
I used to flash ROM on Nexus S and workflow was simple and easy (unlocked BL -> flash TWRP -> flash ROM).
So, I am not a noob to flashing but new to Samsung devices.
I'd like to have an up-to-date help on steps to follow... I heard about Samsung devices have kind of security to bypass...
Hello,
To install any custom ROM on Samsung devices, you will need to do:
- Install custom boot
- ROOT (phone unlock to engineer mode)
I highly recommend TWRP and Magisk.
