AT&T Capture OTA Update URL for Android 11 - LG V60 ThinQ Guides, News, & Discussion

We all know that users who own AT6T devices are not able to receive OTA updates if they are not part of the AT&T network or are outside the US.
Can someone who uses AT&T capture OTA update url link for Android 11, so that we who are unable to receive OTA updates can manually upgrade our devices ?
Also you can use this "OTA Link" app for capture url,
Edit: to working app properly you need first Clear Google Play Services
I think it would be very useful for the whole community who does not use AT&T services.

Im in the process of doing that. will get a sim from At&t in a few days and follow the guide you provide.

Oh man... eagerly waiting for this...still stuck on April 2020 update

I will send my gratitude beforehand as I am also waiting

I need help. There is an update. The phone is downloading over wifi. I can't cancel or pause the update. I'm following the guide and I can't fine any zip or ota file. Installed the app and is not showing any link to copy. I don't know how to cancel the update and start from zero. I only manage to turn off wifi to avoid finish the download

I hope no update is installed, so as not to download the update, Turn off wifi or via ADB you can run this command
Code:
adb shell pm disable-user com.lge.lgdmsclientatt
to disable apk for update, also you can stop connection over change DNS to private set for dns anything like "blabla.com" and internet connection will be stopped or go to go to ‘Settings’ → ‘System’ → ‘Developer options’ and turn off the ‘Automatic system updates’ toggle.".
maybe you are not runed logchat before stated uta updating.
if you using apk OTA link app, must be granted permissions via adb.
I'm not sure if it's possible to delete the OTA ZIP that is already in the process of updating, if you can factory reset the phone then remove the sim card, after deleting it will have to download again however prepare according to the old method of capturing the link again.

I did grant permision to the app with adb, I followed the insructions on the guide, I dont know if this is android 11 update or what, doesn't event mention on the update. I turn off wifi to prevent from donwloading the update, the I turn on the wifi and will download automatically I try the ota lext logcat several times after download resume but again I can't find the download adress using all those keywords. I'm going to try again this evening, and yes the automatic system updtaes is off

Maybe these methods no longer work on newer android systems, then the only thing left is to listen to the connection via computer, when I have the will I will study and write a tutorial.
One question, can you ask AT&T support can you get OTA update in roaming ?

Hey all, on Cricket here. Borrowed my friends AT&T sim today and got the notification to update almost instantly. Will attempt to capture the file later today, will post an update.

Thanks, a security update came out 2 days ago
I'm not sure how much the described method really works for android 11 because the previous try od user is not successful, study a little how to catch traffic via computer, with Fidder, Wireshark and similar tools

Tried all methods, the download just started automatically when it connected to wifi and is now completed. I tired the app, wireshark, bug report methods and all failed. The update is NOT yet installed, just downloaded. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately I have no suggestions, the .zip file cannot be accessed directly without root permissions if ota downloaded.
Thank you for your effort

Don't know how these updates work on these newer devices or what kind of system AT&T use, but normally LG OTA updates aren't zips. Previously if any bigger update, the path was /data/fota/dlpkgfile and if smaller then same on /cache. Updates were possible flashable using LGUP - or maybe if put to the certain path to the /sdcard having .UP as extension and using Hidden Menu's FOTA Test...
Used SandroProxy to catch the urls... server's address was h t t p://dl01.gdms.lge.com:5005/ back then...

Any progress made?

No, must be captured via computer

Is there anyone here who is on Android 10 and has the ability to update to android 11 or any future update from ATT?

Waiting for the updare, too. If it's possible to update with a ATT sim in other countries, I would buy one via Amazon or something...

hmmm.
I'm gonna have to go with it being a hoax... I believe that Google even confirmed that the new cupcake branch upate would be called RC31.
Looks legit to me. Seems to be a tmobile version of adp 1.1.

I agree with the legitimate part. The kernel, baseband, and build ID numbers all look rationally composed/upgraydded. As long as they don't "fix" the SPL or lock out test keys, I'm ok with a little bump for now.
I'm still waiting to see if this is real or not but I did notice something on the google android issues site that made me think we were getting close. Usually the last thing you test before release are upgrade scenarios.
[imported from Google's internal bug database]
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1. Dream device was running a pre-cupcake userdebug. within the last week
or so I had previously downloaded a set of files from browser, a couple
market apps, etc
2. Flashed cupcake userdebug, without wiping data
EXPECTED RESULTS:
On device boot-up, none of the previous notifications would be displayed
OBSERVED RESULTS:
The home screen displayed 13 or so "download complete" notifications that
were previously dismissed.
I then selected 'Clear Notifications'
Result -> Notifications cleared, then approximately 5 seconds later
reappeared, then immediately disappeared again.

Also I'm not sure if the flashing they are referring to is the way you would test an OTA update.
This might be a false alarm.... but I hope not
The guy in the original thread said there's google voice searching.
Just got an email about:
To ensure a great experiance with the T-mobile G1 with Google, customers with these devices will receive an Over the Air (OTA) update to their devices between February 5 and February 15. The OTA will include new system enhancements such as the ability to save pictures or files by long-pressing an item, check for system updates, and use the Google Voice Search feature. The OTA will also fix a number of known issues. New G1 activations will receive the OTA up to three days after service has been activated.
Just IM'ed the lord of the Dream.... we'll see what he says?
And still no cupcake.

Yes. It will be saved in /cache. All I need is the name of the zip file, and I can download it directly from google.
Everyone with RC30 check your logcat log for any sign of a zip file
something like
logcat -d V | grep zip
I got the same email that speoples20 got.
RC33 is an official update from T-Mobile to start being pushed out to the general public feb 5th to feb 15th and then for all new activations within 3 days.
speoples20 did you notice that The Forecast was dated February 2, 2008? Looks like T-Mobile came up with a time warp while making the OTA.
Just to clarify....
EVERYONE ON RC30 (JF OR NOT)
The reason for this is once JF has the file name, he will be able to download it.
NOT THE SD CARD CACHE!!!
Open Terminal Emulator
SU--Enter
Type in CD /cache
Type in LS
Now if that comes up empty, type THIS in and tell us if you see a log entry containing the file name:
logcat -d V | grep zip (enter)
The alarm has been rung!
http://code.google.com/android/migrating/m5-0.9/changes/android.content.Intent.html
can FOTA_UPDATE_ACTION or any of the other FOTA_* functions help out?
Also, you could try to force an update. Download and install anycut (if you haven't already ), and then make a shortcut to the "Device Info" activity. Open it up, go down to the bottom and click "check for update". If it starts downloading the file, I think it should say the name of the file on that same screen. If not, open up a terminal emulator and look in /cache, or try the logcat command:
logcat -d V | grep zip
CHECKIN_SUCCESS but no pending upgrades or downloads
I'm guessing that will be the case until Feb 5th or later for everyone else too.
ok word has spread fast about this issue at he AC and some people are asking from over here are asking JF users to still look for the zip file in the cache. but here is my question, will it even help? I ask because I am not sure about this:
All of us that have root are not supposed to be updated automatically. Now does that mean that the ota is downloaded by the phone and just never auto installed or does it mean that the file can never be downloaded ota?

[Q] Does Update release depend on nwk you logged in OR from where you bought mobile

3. Go to Settings > About phone > system updates (it should say last checked in 1969)
4. Click on 'Check Now' & keep refreshing and it should push the update to your phone if it doesn't work the first time keep trying.
its a global release, but its done in batches. be patient, and you'll get it.
if you want it now, go flash a stock rooted rom or the stock images.
Thanks a lot. It worked. Got notification that update is available.
It didn't worked first time. Then I repeated the same step and this time, restarted mobile before checking for update and I got the notification.
Is there any place where the list of countries and release date can be viewed?
@jnewell!! I got the notification that update is available and downloading starts. In between download stops and I get System is up to date and last time checked at latest time..
It is back to all same situation. What shall I do??

1. Just try again and reboot before checking for updates. Idk why it stopped and won't show up again but it showed up once I'm sure it would show up again. Also make sure your on a good WiFi connection if it does show up, you may have had a weak signal or lost connection last time.
2. I'd honestly just flash the factory image. This will wipe your phone's sdcard, it would be as if you got a new phone. With the issues that your having this sounds like the best option. Make a backup of sdcard if u go this route.
3. Maybe u can get lucky and find an ota that someone pulled before updating. I haven't see one posted though.

2. Use your computer or a file manager from your phone to move it to root of the sdcard then rename it to update.zip
3. Power down your phone
4. Hold volume down and press power. Your phone will startup into bootloader mode
5. Using volume keys find recovery and press power to start recovery.
6. Apply update
7. Profit

@Jnewell05,
What do you mean by move it to root of sdcard? which directory? I can't paste to / folder since I am not a root user. I copied to sdcard folder and it didn't work.
Tried with different wifi network, still there is no success. Download is stopping and back to square one.

Should go from /sdcard/download/update.zip to /sdcard/update.zip
Heck if that doesn't work you can try this
How to flash an official Nexus update with ADB sideload:
1. First you’ll need to have the Android SDK installed and working.
2. Download Android OTA for the Nexus 5 from Google’s servers.
3. Go to Developer options on your Nexus device. Enable USB Debugging.
4. Plug your Nexus device into your computer with your USB cable.
5. Open a command prompt (cmd) or terminal and make sure ADB is working with ‘adb devices’.
6. Once ADB is connected and working, type ‘adb reboot recovery’
7. You’ll see an Android with an exclamation mark.
8. Press Volume Up and Power at the same time to enter the stock recovery menu.
9. Select Apply update from ADB on your Nexus device.
Type ‘adb sideload filename.zip’ into the command prompt or terminal on your computer.
i.e adb sideload c:/downloads/de8b8d101614.signed-hammerhead-LRX210-from-KTU84PJOP40D.de8b8d10.zip
Sit, back, relax, and watch the update install.
If everything worked as intended, you should then be prompted to reboot your device,
Do so by using the Volume Up and Down keys to select Reboot System and proceed by hitting the Power button.
Your device should reboot.

This stock stuff is hard because I run stock but with root and custom recovery.
1. Try the method originally posted or wait for the OTA to come to you
2. You can either try sideload without renaming the file like i suggested last post.
3. Try to rename and move to the root of the /sdcard mentioned in the post before that
4. Or just take it to an extreme and flash the Factory Image manually here is a good guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/how-to-download-flash-android-5-0-t2937941
5. Don't do anything it works fine now, why fix what isn't broke?
I copied and renamed file to /Sdcard/update.zip. When I chose the recovery mode, I got response as "No Command". I am downloading the SDK and I am trying to copy the steps that you have mentioned with the SDK kit.
Frankly speaking, I am unable to understand why the heck I have to do all these things when I have Nexus 5. I am sorry but this is going to be my last Android phone ever. Never wanted to shift loyalities but this has left me with no options.
Is there anything missing from my mobile?
What is annoying now is that I am getting "System Update present" and I am unable to update the system.

You didn't have to do any of this! You could have been patient and waited for the update to come to you. Not Androids/Googles issue.

When it says no command you need to press volume down and power. Or is it volume up and power. Then select update from sdcard update.zip.

second, the no comand thing is normal, that is because the boot_reason is null, just press at same time, volume up and power to get all the options.

Windows 7 is unable to detect my mobile after I enable developer option and connected my mobile after enabling USB debugging.
I installed the USB driver for NEXUS 5 mentioned in the link provided earlier but still Windows is unable to find the USB driver update when I manually tried to update and selected unzipped folder.. So, have stopped trying anything... Tried till 1am yesterday and stopped.. Will try again over the weekend.
Doesn't feel like rooting my mobile still.
What is strange thing is that... When I cleared the Google Service and framework data and I restart my system "I get notification that System Update is available" but when I don't restart the system and checks for update using normal step. It doesn't show me any update being present.
Even after selecting the download option present in the system update available. Download is getting topped and I can see screen saying that that system is up to date.
I bought my mobile from Netherlands and I am over here too. Can someone please confirm whether update is available over here or not? If not, when it is scheduled.

Galaxy Beta

Full OTA thread is
here.
Full release ODIN file is here.
A method has been found to install the beta without being accepted!
Thanks @jrkruse for finding this method!
You must be on PH1 to update to 7.0! Anything else will cause the Update to fail!
First download the update:
OTA Link: https://mega.nz/#!UYljzZyR!e0NDzPUCbDdFw-hZL6jS4sdg0Z3iOpBF7B8lYTv7-GU
then download the 2nd OTA file.
OTA 2: https://mega.nz/#!4AEFHYoK!WxyG8Smrsc6uiCBZtU4qOdsNd3Lk7RBWUSNE_rtTWeY Only flash this update if you are on the first OTA file!
Make sure your SD card is not encrypted or you may encounter errors
1. reboot to download mode (power + volume up +home) and make sure phone says Official under system and binary.
2. If it does not then you must odin the PH1 firmware, use the pit file and the full csc not the home csc file
3. go through setup
4. enable developer options
5. turn OEM unlock off
6. enable USB debugging
7. place Update.zip on Ext sd card in folder named "fota"
8. power off phone
9. reboot to download mode make sure both system and binary are official.
10. reboot to recovery (Power + volume up + home)
11. choose apply Update.zip from SD card
12. find Update.zip in the fota folder you created on your Ext sdcard
13. click yes to apply
14. Let phone start.
15. place 2nd Update.zip on Ext sd card in the fota folder
16. Power off phone
17. Boot into recovery
18. Select "Install update from sdcard"
19. Find the new update and select it.
If you would like to install the official T-Mobile nougat build you can follow instructions here. You must be on beta 2 to install!
You will not lose anything as this is an OTA
You do not want to be rooted. You must be stock for this to work!
There is no gear VR available on the beta.
Troubleshooting:
"E: footer is wrong" followed by "E: signature verification failed" : Decrypt SD Card and try again. Try new SD card if issue persists.
Rollback to PH1:
If you do not want the beta anymore or are having issues with it you can flash back to PH1 by following this guide:
Stock Firmware
or by simply using smart switch.
I just registered. We'll see what happens.
No way to trigger the update once the Registration is complete? I can't seem to find the update.
"After finishing the Galaxy Beta Program registration process, click on the 'Software Update' menu (Setting - Device information - download updates)." <-- these instructions from the Beta app doesn't seem to apply.
It also says the test starts the 11th...

It tells me the maximum number of participants has been reached already!

Has anyone been able to download the beta yet?
@zimgir124 Have you gotten the update then? Because no one has posted about them getting the actual update. Only being able to register thus far seems to me that they are accepting the registration so they can do their picking and choosing then the 11th the roll out begins?

No download yet, however if you look at the date it say 9/11/16 which is November 9th, not September 11th.
It's also been confirmed on several websites for today and the date confirms it.
I'll update when I get the actual update

For clarity, where is this menu: "Setting – Device information – download updates"?
It doesn't match the Settings > System > System Updates, where I would expect to see system updates.

It should come as just a regular OTA, so for me it is Settings > System Updates.
It might take a couple hours for the download to start
Is there any way you can capture the update when you get it? Didn't get in to the beta but I'd like to try it

I hope they open up more slots.

Exactly... I downloaded the official app and attempted to register within maybe 3 hours of it being available and the beta "program" is full of participants!?! Samsung should allow as many people who want to beta test like how Google and Apple both do it...
Anyone seen anything?

Root PK1 with working LTE and voice/mms/hotspot

OK so after reading a bunch on rooting the different firmwares I went ahead and gave the root a shot on our 935P running PK1. It was successfully rooted and runs with no lag whatsoever, no reboots, and LTE is working as well as voice and MMS. I did not make any of the needed files I just found them on XDA and put them to use. Please make sure you thank the devs for this would not be possible without them. Here are the steps I took:
1. Download the following items on your Windows PC:
A. ADB
B. Odin found at http://www.filedropper.com/princecomsyodin
C. Stock PK1 TAR
D. The engineer boot.img from the thread labeled root 10/25 found at http://www.filedropper.com/samsungg935xqcrootedboot
E. The SU install package from same thread found at https://download.chainfire.eu/970/SuperSU/SuperSU-v2.76-S7QC.zip
2. With phone in DL mode use Odin to flash all 5 items of stock PK1 TAR. Let phone boot up and activate on the network.
3. Download Package Disabler from Play store and use it to disable the following items:
A. Bootagent
B. Carrier Setup Wizzard
C. Chameleon
D. Com.android.carrierconfig
E. MobileInstaller
F. SAE
G. Samsung DM Phone Interface
H. Samsung DM service
I. Setup Wizzard
J. securityLogAgent
4. Power off phone and start in DL mode
5. After installing ADB open up Odin and click AP and select the engineer boot.img file
6. With phone in DL mode connect to PC and flash boot.img through Odin (once complete phone will boot up)
7. Once phone boots up run the Root.bat script. After a successful run the phone will reboot and SuperSU will be installed.
8. Download build.prod editor from Playstore
9. Use build.prop editor to change the following 3 items:
A. ro.cdma.default_alpha from chameleon to sprint
B. ro.cdma.default_numeric from 310000 to 310120
C. ro.build.characteristics from Chameleon to Sprint
10. GoTo settings, security, other security settings and turn off automatic updates.
11. Reboot
12. Install Wireless Tether Router from Playstore
13. After install open and set desired broadcast name and password DO NOT change anything else.
14. Turn your phone's Wifi on
15. Hit Enable Wifi Router and grant SU permission when asked.
Your 935P on PK1 is now rooted with working LTE, voice, MMS, and hotspot.
thank you very much for your help. i confirm that this solution works on PL6 stock and everything like you said is working. This is what i did.
i followed everything you listed except 3 things.
1) i needed stockfile for PL6 and when unzipped i used 4 files . for the csc file i used home, so it preserves data.
2) for part I i didn't know which wizard setup, lol so i disabled both.
3) i also added securityLogAgent. to the disabled list, because i kept getting that notification that if u click it. it reboots and gets rid of root.
thank you once again, and once again this is working on PL6, just make sure u download PL6 stock
going totry this on pl6 today. wish me luck. any more tips for trying this on pl6? what "home" file did you use?

What update are you referring to? I'm assuming 7.0? Any idea when it's coming out?
I got the update yesterday.
Could you link which package disabler you used? Some of them have been removing some of the packages that you can disable (im guessing from pressure from samsung).
Also, what did you do to get no lag?
Thanks!

How'd it go? Looking to do this on PL6.
Hey guys. Im having some problems with this method because of ADB.
I flash the boot.img but once I run root.bat it goes though everything fine until I get to the line "adb install -r SuperSU-v2.76.apk" an error appears from adb saying "Error could not access the package manager. Is the system running?"
Ive tried making it the specific path. ex: "adb install -r /sdcard/Download/SuperSU-v2.76.apk" and stuff like it. (Im also not sure if its installing the apk from the file on the phone or the folder on my PC.
Any help would be appreciated. Running PK1 S7 Edge Sprint.
on top of this my phone just vibrates and lands at the Sprint LTE screen while it doesnt do anything. This is probably the problem. But I have the same version as #1 so whats the problem?

I can confirm pk1 method works. Not sure about root on pj2.
After obtaining root from the OP I downloaded the current stable SuperSU 2.79 flashable zip. I flashed it from FlashFire. I received a security warning. Custom binary blocked by SECURE BOOT (boot.img). I then flashed the OP engineer boot.img in ODIN. this fixed the update binary issue, woot, and rebooted again fine.
I also got this to work on the third try on pj2. The first two were one hundred percent my mistake as both times I missed something very plainly stated in the OP. I would say to anyone experiencing difficulties to read over the threads where the OP files originate. That's what allowed my bone head to see what I was doing wrong. I can't believe I finally have root and hotspot! Thank you for all the hard work folks!
Oh man. Do you even know how much you helped me out. I have succesfully rooted 7.0 on my s7 edge. Will post tutorial soon, much credit to you sir you are awesome.
Edit:https://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-s7-edge/how-to/sm-g935p-spr-root-nougat-7-0-data-t3568780
I can confirm this works 100% on PK1. Thank you so much
Any of you have any tips on fixing the lag? I love root but might go back due to lag and battery drain

Can someone please save the 10.5.8.IN55CB OTA from T-mobile before updating?

Since T-mobile hasn't posted it, I'm surprised no one has saved off the update for others to download. If anyone gets the notification that the update is available PLEASE save it (plug it into your PC and select file transfer) off the device and provide a link to help the rest of us out.
Much appreciated.

I haven't downloaded it yet but I did receive the notification. How would I able to save the downloaded OTA on my phone? I never thought to do this, to tell you the truth.
Thanks.

I forgot to add this: Where in the internal storage would/should I look? I need to back up my phone anyways, therefore, this is a perfect opportunity.
Thanks.
After it downloads you should be able to say "wait to install later." It should be around 360MB I hear. If you have an app that shows file sizes it should locate this as a large file on your device. Like Free Cleaner and File Manager, from the PlayStore, if you go under Memory, go under large files, it should show you the location. Then go there and zip it up and save to another directory like Download. And then upload to Mega.nz or another file sharing site. Thank you for helping!!!
i needed the TMobile modem if one of you guys could share that it would help
i am uploading it right now. I am in desperate need of a persist.img from tmobile device. some how I managed to delete my only copy and my backup to the cloud I guess never was completed. if you could do this for me I would be ever so grateful. ill have the update in about 10 min

Quick update: My phone keeps rebooting after downloading the update and lands back into the tmobile splash screen and into the home screen.
What am I doing wrong? Reason being this is that I'm trying to preserve this OTA myself as well.

This is exactly what I need as well, just the modem.bin or NON-HLOS.bin whatever is on the modem partition. I suppose there is a way to pull from adb as well. However, not knowing what is in the OTA makes it quite difficult to see if there are mulitple modem partitions.
Go to system / build number / click it 7 times (it should say you are now a developer), the enable USB debugging. Trust the computer you plug it into (it will ask you on the screen of the phone), then type:
adb pull /dev/block/by-name/modem NON-HLOS.bin
Something like the above should work and save to your fastboot directory, where ever you ran the ADB command from. Then you can zip that file up and upload and we get all the new modem bands.
my problem is i use TMobile and changed to eu and global my 4g is 120mbs 5g 44mbits it was 198 i needed it to test if it changes you fastboot flash modem_a or(b) i could use someone who has TMobile modem backed up in twrp i can give everyone img then
i think i found issue with 5g nr is turned off i used settings database editor to change from 0 to 1
Would this help with 5g speeds? Also I have already updated, but I plan to keep my TMobile 8 stock so I'll try to get whatever files you guys need. Currently at work though.
see where i flashed modem

Do you have to be rooted for it to actually save? I followed that app's instruction and gave permission via ADB but it doesn't seem to save for me.

I figured that would probably be the way. Just wasn't sure does too the fact the app Setedit made it seem like it would save if you just gave it permissive over adb. No rush on you doing that though. Not sure if I'll be investing into all of that yet. I don't mind stock enough to modify yet.
Ok so where's the OTA download link?

T-Mobile variants don't give you the wait option it restarts immediately. Also you can't get to where it saves the update anyway without root. There's another way of doing it and we are waiting for it to be pulled
