When making a call through Google Assistant, I am now asked whether to use Dialer, Duo or WhatsApp.
This has just started over the last week or two.
I have had Duo and WhatsApp apps on my phone for years, but Google Assistant has never before offered them as a dialing option.
I want to set Google Assistant back to only using dialer for phone calls.
How do I accomplish this?
Thanks.

As I use Google Voice to communicate with my U.S. Family, I had the Google Voice Dialer app installed on my Galaxy Nexus as I have been using it successfully since last summer (Motorola Spice before GN). Anytime I click on a U.S. Contact to call from my Contacts list, the app would intercept this request and auto send the info to Google Voice in which my phone would ring seconds later and place the outgoing call to my contact.
This for some reason has stopped when I tried to call my brother this morning. The app did intercept the request as it displayed that the details where being sent to Google Voice, but my phone didn't ring. I went on Google Voice site to verify that Google Voice was properly set to forward to my FreePhone by default (FreePhoneLine is set to forward to my cell #). I even tested from the website to have it call a number and seconds later my phone rang which placed the outgoing call successfully.
I went into the Google Voice Dialer app to delete my Gmail settings. Closed reopened, signed back in. From my phone contacts, clicked my Brother to call. It displays that the info is being sent to Google Voice, but again, my phone doesn't ring.
This time I decide to uninstall app and redownload from the market. After uninstalling, I no longer see the Google Voice Dialer app available to download from the Market. I even went through some third party site to download it which actually then sent me back to the market, this time the app showed up in the Market. I click Install, but this message comes up:
Error
The download of "Google Voice Dialer" was declined because it was removed from Android Market.

Anyone know why this is? Or if is there a replacement app that can do the same job?

Ok, this is very weird.
I've been using Google Voice for over 2 years now on Android. I've also had an app called GVmynumber which dials to my Google Voice then dials out a number. They've worked great.
Over the past week, I've been experiencing the following problem:
When the menu comes up asking me to call with google voice or call without google voice, and I choose call with google voice, then the same menu reappears. I click it again and it keeps reappearing. But if I click call without google voice it's fine.
Things I have tried:
1. Reinstalling the apps.
2. Rebooting.
3. Changing the google voice toggle back and forth.
Anyone have any ideas on this?
How does Google Voice work with Lollipop? I use my Google Voice number as my primary number, and nobody has my actual number on my SIM card. I use Google Voice for all inbound and oubound calls. I have NOT migrated over to Hangouts yet, because the Hangouts dialer can't be answered without unlocking the phone, etc. What happens to Google Voice when you go to Lollipop? My phone got the notification to update, but I am worried about breaking my call functionality.
Thank you in advance.
Looks like Lollipop can still use the Google Voice app and everything appears to work the same as before.
So I've been using Google voice as my main number. This allows me to switch SIM cards and keep my number, which is useful since I travel back and forth a lot. I can always just dial a number and it calls (Intl or not) and when I'm outside the US I can be contacted at my regular number. All I have to do is install the Google Voice app to route calls and use Hangouts for SMS (or calls if using Chrome on a desktop).
That said, I think I found a problem with Google Now integration. Calls are not a problem: "OK Google call John" works fine, it dials John's number via Google Voice. Texting however defaults to sending via the SIMs number, even if I select "always reply via Google Voice" in the Hangouts app. Since I don't ever really use the SIMs number, this has resulted in quite a few people texting me back "who is this?" after I text them using Google Now.
I know a solution is to just not use Google Now to text, but it's quite useful with a handsfree while driving and such.
I'm having issues with the dialer using google voice to make calls. Can you guys let me know if you have this setup and working fine. I'm trying to isolate the problem. Thanks.
You have to use the hangouts dialer for Google voice, not the stock dialer.

On my Nexus 5 I use the google voice app and select in the settings make all calls with google voice. When I make a call using the stock dialer it says it's making the call using my google voice number. This uses my cell minutes but the people I call see my google voice number. On the Moto G this only seems to work intermittently. Is this a limitation on the Moto G and I will have to route all calls through data instead of cellular? I usually only use the hangouts dialer on wifi.

google voice hasn't worked like that since like may....try updating your apps. you need hangouts and the hangouts dialer. google voice is a dead app now.
