Hey Xda community,
I can not find a working YouTube downloader application. I've scoured the web. I've been through countless searches of 'best Youtube downloader app's for android' articles. Not one works.
There's got to be one that works out there somewhere and I figure Xda is the absolute best place to ask.
Has anyone found a working downloader app? Maybe a browser extension or add on? Would love to hear...
I'm using a cheaper Samsung with no root possibilities running android Q
Thank you
Yes, it is a little bit difficult to find a working youtube video downloader for a mobile phone. Maybe you can use your computer to download YouTube videos instead.
There are a couple online ones that work for free.
Here's one:
YouTube to Mp3 Music Converter - YTMP3
YTMP3 is free YouTube to mp3 converter. It helps you convert and download youtube videos to mp3 or mp4 files for free. YTMP3 is the best Youtube mp3 downloader.
ytmp3.cc
You can use arktube, download it from browser then buy lisence from play store or just use the free version
Here's another free one:
MPG to MP4 Converter: Convert MPG Video to MP4 Video (Free)
Convert your MPG files to MP4 video.
www.onlineconverter.com
I recommend MiniTool uTube Downloader in this regard. It's 100% free and easy to use.
In youtube app, i believe there is a button to download the video to play it locally on youtube app, unless you want to download it as mp4

Good to hear that, and thank you very much for your clarification. It doesn't come to everyone, and I believe this feature is geo-restricted.
Through a plethora of attempts to download YouTube videos, I had invariably been met with unmitigated disappointment until I happened upon a truly authenticated site which proved to be a veritable game-changer. Behold, the illustrious YaxTube.com, a certified and reliable source for YouTube video downloads that has unequivocally met and exceeded my expectations. The site, with its streamlined and trustworthy interface, affords users the unparalleled ability to download YouTube videos with effortless ease, and has quickly become my go-to destination for all my video downloading needs.

Some of the Youtube downloads via Realplayer download manager don't play on ppc players like TCPMP and Coreplayer, I presume it is because they are flash 8?
Is there an on-line Youtube downloader which simultaneously converts the file into the correct format to play on PPCs with minimal loss of quality? It would be great if it had a search function online too. I have tried sites like mobytube but this one doesn't:
a) The search doesn't return all the available videos that you would see in Youtube website.
b) lets the user download all the ones that have been returned in the search.
WVD made by one of the forum members here is pretty awesome. You can also get a plug in to play flv on TCPMP. My phone is a lowly 200mhz model and it can play them fine. A lot of the sites listed in WVD also have a 3gp option for downloading, though they are usually at lower quality. The .72 (NOT .8x) version of TCPMP can play FLV4 (youtube "hd") movies with a plugin but it was nowhere near watchable on my phone. Would play a second and stop, play a second and stop, etc... My phone lacked the horse power.

Is it possible that when a youtube link is posted that when clicking it in opera it doesn't just open the page in youtube but instead opens the video in the youtube app so you can actually watch the video since opera doesn't play embeded videos, unless I've missed an app for this.
im also looking for the same thing, does anyone know how?
This has been asked for time and time again, and there's never been a way to do it. I used to love the way that IE would open the YouTube app when you tried to play a YouTube video, but now I use Opera 10 and watch YouTube vids directly on the page they're on, in full screen. It's perfect. If you can get used to the click-to-zoom and back-to-zoom-out idea, Opera 10 is loads better than 9.7, and plays most flash files (once plugins are turned on).
Actually it is Possible.
I have been doing this for a long time in my hd2.
It doesnt work from a www.youtube.com link. The trick is to use the built in opera browser and open the youtube mobile site at m.youtube.com. just click on any of the thumbnail images of the video and the htc youtube app kicks in and plays it in the proper quality not in 3gp quality of the youtube mobile site !!!
you can also convert any normal youtube video link to mobile youtube link by changing the www into w in the link!
it works like a charm!!!

That's obviously only good for if you're on the YouTube site though. It doesn't help for video posted on other sites, as in links to YouTube. I'd still tell everyone who uses YouTube to get Opera 10. It's great!

yes. You are right. an alternative is tap and hold link in opera and open in new tab and edit "www" to "m".
The thing is with opera 10 direct youtube play the video quality is very blocky!
this gives a much cleaner playback.
I have an idea for any devs to develop a small program to translate the desktop youtube link to mobile youtube link on the fly. kind of an intermediate app which captures the link from opera 9.7 translate the link and pass that to the native youtube app! that would be cool!
Hey peeps, currently is there a app that enables u to download and convert youtube videos into mp3?
I was using tube mate
but try this site
http://www.mp3ify.com/index-original.html
all you need is the videos url and you can convert to mp3 and download
Freedi is really the best. But you have to find the apk. But it downloads into your gallery so you can watch videos without wifi or mobile data.
Never live in the past but always learn from it.

Hey guys and gals today I am going to present to you my app.
It's my first time to post here on xda so I am a little nervous, and to answer yes there are other app's that do what i do. But I intended to streamline the process than rather opening the app and have you search the video you want to watch within the app. I thought of just using the youtube app to get the videos you want by sharing it to the uAu App . But even if at least I get 1 person to find my app handy that would be awesome!
Have you ever wanted to just listen to watch a video or even listen to some songs on YouTube while being able to browse the internet or even 9GAG?
But unfortunately, you have to either choose to watch videos only or just browse the net. This is where uAu comes in handy. uAu is an android app that lets you watch youtube videos while being able to do other stuff on your phone.
All you have to do is find the video you want to watch or listen to on the YouTube App and then just SHARE the video to uAu. Then presto, you are able to watch or listen to your favourite videos while being able to do other stuff on your phone!
uAu provides the following features:
Add Videos to your playlist, by sharing Youtube Videos to the uAu App.
Shuffle your playlist items!
Watch YouTube videos on a Minimized Player with notification Controls.
Watch YouTube videos on a Floating Player.
Watch YouTube videos on Fullscreen.
How to use uAu:
With Youtube App
Open your YouTube App
Pick a Video to watch or listen to and share it with the uAu App.
That's it! You are good to go.
Without YouTube App
Get the YouTube Video URL you want to watch or listen to.
Paste the Youtube URL into the uAu App.
Thanks for your time,
