Hey guys and gals today I am going to present to you my app.
It's my first time to post here on xda so I am a little nervous, and to answer yes there are other app's that do what i do. But I intended to streamline the process than rather opening the app and have you search the video you want to watch within the app. I thought of just using the youtube app to get the videos you want by sharing it to the uAu App . But even if at least I get 1 person to find my app handy that would be awesome!
Have you ever wanted to just listen to watch a video or even listen to some songs on YouTube while being able to browse the internet or even 9GAG?
But unfortunately, you have to either choose to watch videos only or just browse the net. This is where uAu comes in handy. uAu is an android app that lets you watch youtube videos while being able to do other stuff on your phone.
All you have to do is find the video you want to watch or listen to on the YouTube App and then just SHARE the video to uAu. Then presto, you are able to watch or listen to your favourite videos while being able to do other stuff on your phone!
uAu provides the following features:
Add Videos to your playlist, by sharing Youtube Videos to the uAu App.
Shuffle your playlist items!
Watch YouTube videos on a Minimized Player with notification Controls.
Watch YouTube videos on a Floating Player.
Watch YouTube videos on Fullscreen.
How to use uAu:
With Youtube App
Open your YouTube App
Pick a Video to watch or listen to and share it with the uAu App.
That's it! You are good to go.
Without YouTube App
Get the YouTube Video URL you want to watch or listen to.
Paste the Youtube URL into the uAu App.
Thanks for your time,

Is anyone aware of an app that will allow you to watch your youtube playlists, and it will jump to the next playlist item automatically? I've scoured appbrain and the app market and I haven't found anything similar yet.
I like to add a lot of random music I find on youtube to playlists and review it later, and it would be nice to listen to this while I'm driving, but the built-in youtube app just plays one item at a time and stops. I know there are a lot of apps that let you download youtube videos to your phone, but that is really too slow and overkill for what I'm trying to do.
I guess Flash on Froyo may be an option once it's available, but it seems like this wouldn't be that hard of an app to put together.
Hi guys
I noticed that last night's last YouTube update (2.3.4) changed the app behavior. Before this update i was able to play a song clip, close the screen display and listen to the song. Now, when you close the screen display, the clip pauses. This feels stupid to me. Do we have alternatives or any way to rollback & cancel future updates?
Thanks

Currently my workaround is to use YouTube website...

Tubemate is awesome and it allows to record videos directly to your phone as well as audio record I highly recommend it plus it allows use of all YouTube features .
just uninstall the update....settings - applications.
Hi guys
I completely uninstalled YouTube app using TB and I'm using a YouTube bookmark to launch it on my browser. It works fine. I think this app is redundant.
I did install TubeMate to be able to save videos and mp3s from YouTube, but to play it is just launching your browser...

Does anybody have a YouTube app or client that allows video playback while screen is off?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Try Play Tube free. It plays videos in background and screen off. Even let's you create playlists.
Its in the play store.
EDIT-
Ahhh here it is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2213945
I've used a few modded youtube apps and I love this one by far the best. The developer, OsamaGhareeb is amazing. Constant updates and is usually very active in his threads. It's calld OG Youtube Downloader. It allows you to download youtube videos to your sd card, also has the option to download it in MP3 format if there's a song on there you wanna keep. However, for your purposes the screen off playback option works great! I use to use it all the time listening to youtube videos and falling asleep lol.
Good morning,
I would like to ask, why I cannot choose to play a streaming video (like youtube videos) with mx-player and I can only play the stream with the browser built-in player. I use opera browser, but I have already tested a lot of different browsers without seeing any difference; the browsers don't give me the option to use another player, they don't see mx-player as an appropriate app.
Also I tried, to copy and past the videos URL into Network Stream box, but it doesn't work anyway.
Thank You for the support.
I use tubemate to watch youtube videos with less res.
Instead of downloading you can select watch it and select any player you want.

I still would like to figure out if there is a way to stream/play youtube video's automatically to my MX player...
The reason I want to find out, is that youtube is fast becoming the new music player of today... just type in a search for a band/artist (ie. "michael jackson") or general selection like (ie: "salsa music") and you'll be listening for hours to your favorite music.
But using the youtube app or the native browser is not satisfactory, because they will both stop playing/streaming once you lock the screen of your phone.
So if I want to listen to my favorite music while running, I can not use these sources.
MX player has the ability to keep streaming/playing music while the screen is locked...
And that is why I'm looking for a way to stream from youtube to this player.
Help!?!

Hey Xda community,
I can not find a working YouTube downloader application. I've scoured the web. I've been through countless searches of 'best Youtube downloader app's for android' articles. Not one works.
There's got to be one that works out there somewhere and I figure Xda is the absolute best place to ask.
Has anyone found a working downloader app? Maybe a browser extension or add on? Would love to hear...
I'm using a cheaper Samsung with no root possibilities running android Q
Thank you
Yes, it is a little bit difficult to find a working youtube video downloader for a mobile phone. Maybe you can use your computer to download YouTube videos instead.
There are a couple online ones that work for free.
Here's one:
YouTube to Mp3 Music Converter - YTMP3
YTMP3 is free YouTube to mp3 converter. It helps you convert and download youtube videos to mp3 or mp4 files for free. YTMP3 is the best Youtube mp3 downloader.
ytmp3.cc
You can use arktube, download it from browser then buy lisence from play store or just use the free version
Here's another free one:
MPG to MP4 Converter: Convert MPG Video to MP4 Video (Free)
Convert your MPG files to MP4 video.
www.onlineconverter.com
I recommend MiniTool uTube Downloader in this regard. It's 100% free and easy to use.
In youtube app, i believe there is a button to download the video to play it locally on youtube app, unless you want to download it as mp4
