Hi! I was trying to backup my Orange Monte Carlo following a Portuguese tutorial but I'm stuck in the middle and I've got no help! Hope you can provide some! These are the steps I followed (translated)
1 - Install ADB Made Easy;
2 - Open cmd;
3 - Activate cellphone debug mode;
4 - Connect via usb (without mass storage) and install drivers if request [it was requested and i installed];
5 - Run adb devices, it should show your device [it did];
6 - Run adb reboot bootloader, your cellphone will boot in Fastboot, wich is an Android image without menus [correct until here];
7 - Run fastboot devices, your device yor a question mark(?) should show up (advance to next step), else you miss drivers [step not completed];
cmd says 'fastboot' is not recognized as a command. Now my phone is stuck connected to the computer with an adriod pick and I have no clue on what to do next!
Don't know where you were going with this but to reboot your phone just pull the battery ..
Not bricked

Thank you! Do you have any idea why the last command doesn't work? I believe it has something to do with file location... I'm trying to backup my Monte Carlo. Next steps were to "fastboot boot recovery.img" and then backup.
It should be in the platform-tools directory of the android-sdk. Verify that it's there...if so cd to that directory and it should work
I already fixed it for myself, thanks! Now I can't seem to be able to install clockwork!
Doing <<fastboot boot "C:\Users\R&J\Downloads\recovery.img">> reboots the device but doesn't enter recovery.
Doing <<fastboot flash recovery "C:\Users\R&J\Downloads\recovery.img">> , <<fastboot reboot>> and <<adb wait-for-device reboot recovery>> results the phone entering android's default recovery (no acess to backup feature).
Any way to help? Thank you!
The first command <<fastboot flash recovery "C:\Users\R&J\Downloads\recovery.img">> is trying to write the recovery.img you downloaded to a recovery partition on your device. It may not be overwriting the original recovery.
try changing permissions by doing
adb shell
su
chmod 777 /recovery
then try to flash again
Lol it seems like I have been luck enough to solve my own problems, I have sucessfully installed ClockworkMod Recovery 4.0.1.4 unofficial MoDaCo Edition using a bat file . Now I can't seem to find a way to flash recovery back to stock. I though this was an option inside the modded recovery. Any tips? Thanks again!
EDIT: I have the stock recovery file . God... this tutorials I'm folowing aren't that noob friendly...
Hi all,
I was fiddling around with a rooted android 7 inch tablet (its a china-made tablet i believe - TWD_MID) with android 4.0.4 installed. In order to hide the status bar i tried to follow certain tricks (replaced the /system/app/settings.apk and /system/framework/android.policy.jar). This caused the tablet to go into a bootloop (the boot animation kept on playing)
The obvious solution offcourse was to install a new custom ROM (since i unfortunately did not hav a backup ROM) ; however doing it manually i came across these problems:
1. The tablet doesn't seem to have any sort of bootloader / custom recovery mode. I've tried power +volume up and power+ volume down; even did adb reboot-bootloader , adb reboot [recovery] but nothing - the tablet just kept booting normally and going into bootloop.
2. There seems to be some problem with fastboot as well - almost all the commands entered along with fastboot yield "<waiting for device>"
I even tried using uniflash to install a custom rom; the tablet reboots twice and uniflash gives a success message; but in reality there seems to be no change in the tablet
Till this point though, adb was working properly
Out of sheer desperation (I know i shouldn't have, but still ) I used adb push to push all the entire /system folder from the extracted folder of custom rom into the /system of the tablet.
Now i can't even use adb shell - any adb shell "[command]" gives the error :
- exec '/system/bin/sh' failed: Permission denied (13) -
Please if possible can someone give me some advice??
I'm hoping to find a way to:
1. Get adb shell working again
2. Install and enter into some sort of bootloader/custom recovery mode on the tablet; so i can install a rom from TF(ext sd) card
I want to get my tablet working again....
Please Help...
Thanx a lot in advance...
This Thread is only for Elephone Lite,The instructions might work with other Elephone Phones, but the files are only for the Elephone Vowney LITE!

Your Elephone Vowney Lite must be rooted with SuperSU,not with Kingroot!Link from Kingroot to SuperSU
USB Debugging must be on.
Installed ADB/Fastboot Drivers Link
Instructions:
Download the Files.zip from Here
Connect your Elephone Vowney Lite on the Pc.(In Media Mode and the Screen must be always on)
Extract the Files.zip and copy the 4 Files what you see in the Folder on your External Micro SD Card.
Open on your Pc (Windows,Win 10 Pro 64 Bit i test it) Command Prompt and Navigate to your ADB Folder (My is cd c:\ADB)

Old Guide :
There are Two Main Steps:
1. Getting Temporary Root
2. Flashing TWRP and Rooting Permanently.
PROCEDURE:
Note: I do not own any of rooting file. Those all are available on chinease site/host.
Tested On Stock Nougat V226
Tested On Stock Marshmallow V35
Limitations:
Code:
this is not permanent root, bcoz of locked bootloader. Root permission reset whenever your phone reboot. To gain
root access again you need to adb installed on PC and run root app from adb.
Download:
-Download Root Package from here: >>
(Download these two )
1.
http://www.datafilehost.com/d/200f5056
2.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3wvScQytk0ddmRQc0ZyT3BZR1U/view?usp=drivesdk
3. Download TWRP :
[Please Hit Thanks Button]

-Now open "openRP" app
-You see just gray screen with "openpr" text.

-Now you see Factory mode text appear on boot screen. No problem
-Now your Note 5 is successfully rooted
-Open cmd.bat file again. And run
Code:
adb shell
You see "#" sign, that means Phone is rooted.
-Now we will install superuser.
-Open cmd.bat file, and type
Code:
adb remount
adb push magisk /system/bin
adb shell
magisk su
mount -o ro,remount /system
-Open Magisk Manager app that you installed from apk folder.
If you see below screen that means you successfull installed supersu
-Now lets check that Note 5 is rooted or not with Root checker.
-Open Root checker app. and Grant permission for Root check.
-And Finally wait is over
When you reboot phone you need to gain root access again.
so open cmd.bat and type
Code:
adb shell
magisk su
How to remove Root Permission and Factory mode text.
-Open cmd.bat and type
Code:
adb remount

If you can access TWRP, do reboot to bootloader and flash Stock Rom, this method was tested Super Moderator of Coolpad Forums and it worked perfectly.
I don't know why it didn't work for you.

rooting prblm
i cant root permannently. i rooted my device temporary .please help me
Hello,
This is my first post on how to root and install TWRP recovery on the Teclast Tbook 11 (E5A6) android 5.1
The TWRP works with touch and I haven't encounterd any problems with it
I have not created the TWRP, it is made by nik2670
We only flash or boot the recovery, then install SuperSU 2.82- 201705271822. Nothing else !
Sorry for the mirrors. (I will remove them if you're the owner)
Be sure to have ADB drivers v1.4.3 installed before you continue.
Download TWRP 2.8.7.0. Recovery Tbook 11 and ADB and Fastboot and put it in a folder on your desktop
Enable USB debugging on your tablet (Settings->Developers->usb-debugging)
Connect your tablet with your PC
Open up a CMD prompt in the folder you have your ADB. Win+R type CMD, hit enter. Copy the path of ADB and put in the CMD prompt
Code:
cd [path]
Mine was cd "C:\Users\Thermaltake\Desktop\ADB FASTBOOT FILES WINDOWS"
In the CMD prompt, type
Code:
adb devices
If you see your device you good to go.
Type
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
your tablet reboots, select android while it reboots
Now we're in fastboot mode, just to be sure we see the device type
Code:
fastboot devices
. If you can't see your device like me you have to manually install drivers.
Do you have the recovery.img in the same folder as ADB? Good. Type
Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
OR
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
to permanently have the TWRP recovery on your device (I recommand boot)
Your tablet is now in recovery mode! You can acces the internal storage. Add SuperSU-v2.82 on your device.
Hit Install->SuperSU-v2.82-201705271822->Swipe to confirm flash->Wipe dalvik cache->Reboot----> DONE !
Image of succesfully root
Thanks for following my guide, if there are any problems I try to update the tutorial or provide more information to you!
