Finally , One Module-unlock 5G-Volte-VoWIFI - Google Pixel 5 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hello,,
After a long term of tries and workarounds. Finally found some module by ender-zhao
Thanks for him so much.
Simply one module to enable 5G and Volte ,vowifi...
install it from magisk , restart and everything should be fine. 5G,VOLTE
Here is the module
Pixel-5-Unlock-5G-VOLTE
thanks for ender-zhao
This module works on Pixel 5 , Pixel 4a (5G)
Thanks and Good luck

How exactly does this module work? I already have standalone 5G, as well as VoLTE

After some inspection , simply the module will clear radio cache , replacing the mbn file with 5G unlocked one , then enabling VOLTE

But is it necessary for someone like me who already has 5G?

As you have 5G and VOLTE working , then no need , its just for uncertified or uncofigured 5G networks operators.

What's your country / operator? Any idea if this works with both SIMs active?

How to installed?

The module edits lots of props so you might want to tweak some settings depending on your carrier. My modem speed went down 50%. I noticed a lot of settings from chinese mbn settings in EFS I had to edit.
persist.vendor.radio.mbn_load_flag=3
Does this prop indicate which mbn gets loaded? I noticed I got the third mbn of the oem_sw.txt

I was working on my own version too but it seems this person has more knowledge. This module, however, doesn't have 'AUNZ' or 'common/wildcard' mbn. Not sure if deliberate or a mistake. 'AUNZ' is for Australia (doesn't work on New Zealand despite the 'NZ') and 'common/wildcard' is for generic unlisted carriers, but I guess wildcard isn't needed if it forces the phone to load a certain mbn that has 5G enabled?. I'm gonna use their code on my own one and see as well.

Dear all,
someone tried this module in Middle East? Like Saudi, Qatar, Kuwait? or out of China?
Thank you,
I have US version of P5 but I want to enable the 5G in those regions.

This is my take. My one adds Korean carriers mbn files as well.
GitHub - swangjang/Pixel-Redbull-Carrier-Patch: This is a Magisk module (in testing) for Pixel 4a (5G) and Pixel 5 that enables 5G for Unlisted Countries, VoLTE switches in the settings and add support for more countries/carriers.

For some reason, after installing the Pixel March Update, my device on EFS Explorer keeps showing up as "SW_DEFAULT" where it doesn't even have a carrier_policy file and changing SIM cards does not change it back to WILDCARD nor disable 5G.

@swangjang someone said the same thing on one of the other 5G threads. I wonder if it was done on purpose by Google or by accident.

Go deep into the /system folder until you reach /Pixel. Inside, you will see folders of different countries. Look at the folder naming structure of other countries and make one for yours following the same structure and put your mbn file inside.
Then go back to before the /Pixel folder to /mcfg_sw where you'll find the mcfg_sw.txt file. Open that and type in the path to the mbn file you added, following the same structure as others.
Otherwise, you can send it to me either attached (the whole folder) or the link of the forum you found it and I'll update it to mine

@swangjang I'm still waiting on the Verizon March Update so I haven't changed from the February security patch yet I was thinking about side loading the Google March OTA to see if anything changes so when I get off from work in a couple of hours I will do it and let you know if anything changes.

custom firmware to overcome crippled features pls ?

Here is my list of IMHO important Android features that are crippled/ unavailable. Would be great to see custom builds that fix any of these.
1) Androids built-in support for SIP telephony is completely unavailable.
SIP apps are only a partial workaround because they can integrate into the system equally. Eg: If you use the phone via BT from a Car audio/nav system, you can only get to the native Android dialer (which is where native android SIP integrates).
With QuickShortcutMaker you can get to the Menu to create SIP accounts, so the SIP code is in the firmware, but there are two pieces missing - create SIP contacts to make SIP calls, and enabling SIP accounts to receive SIP calls. Maybe there are some config files in the firmware that would enable this in custom firmware...
2) VoLTE is only enabled in each regions firmware for carriers in that region. Especially when importing phones from Asia, or Mate 9 Pro that does not even have US firmware this means VoLTE is unavailable.
This seems to be easy to fix with rooted phone by putting the appropriate config files into custom builds. There is already one patch for Mate 9 out in another thread in the mate 9 Q&A forum.
3) WiFi calling. Seems to be similar to VoLTE: disabled by default unless explicitly enabled on specific carriers.
One can see with QuickShortcutMaker that the feature is in the firmware. But not sure what needs to be fixed to make it fully working.
4) Google Daydream. Maybe not worth trying to fix this for Mate 9 Pro given how its listed as DayDream ready and should hopefully get an official FW update to enable it, but might make sense for mate 9.
Its possible to download / install Google VR libraries etc., but that will then still complain that the phone is not daydream capable. For that there seem to be some config one would need to root for.

It's because HOS doesn't include any Google elements. Those have to be integrated for OOS.
And it also means 5.1.10 is only a day or so behind so I would not be surprised if we see the update go live tomorrow or Monday.

OnePlus is a Chinese company and HydrogenOS is for the Chinese market so it's to be expected that it will release before OxygenOS.
I am tired of companies favouring their own countries and then *****ing about bad sales globaly like Samsung has been doing lately with regards to their S9 lines. Why not treat everbody the same if we have to pay the same or in some cases even more?

Free or pay rom
I've been using this rom since VIP3.
I can safely say that the rom is fast, responsive with improved battery life.
In addition to alot of tweaks to play with to improve the overall experience, and also the ability to have different performance profiles that can save you battery. Not to mention the sound customizations that implement a handy new dolby system with many tweaks to your choice، allow you to use sound booster apps (Not working on stock) and most importantly V4A is completely compatible which is a big bonus to alot of users.
The only disadvantage is that it's is a pay rom. Or not ?
The ROM will continuously pop up an annoying message in Chinese to remind you to buy the rom.
But a workaround to this is to simply set all your favorite tweaks using their "Soul" app while you can still access it on the first week.
So you have a full week to play around and choose your permanent settings on their app.
And once you set your tweaks, they will stick you will never have the need to access them again. And even better, the annoying message to buy the ROM will disappear.
In a nutshell I really recommend this fun ROM and even tried to buy it to no avail.
Worth a shot guys!
hi there guys!
the rom is restricted to CHC and there is not mobile data to use, at least for me.
I have tried different ways to pass this limitation with odin and CSC , modding prism and optics but not lucky.
The phone instantly blocked due to devices services was uninstalled and it is like an icloud iphone.
Anyway....with xposed and the soului.apk module you can use some features of this rom in a normal stock.
PD: I am using a sm-s908E snapdragon unlocked, and works everything less data sim, after flashing change my phone to S9080

Question Wi-Fi calling in non supported country

Hi
i want to enable wifi calling but cant
the option doesn't exist on the SIM menu.
i come from zenfone and xiaomi devices, in both cases i have just typed some dialer codes and the option appeared. wifi calling worked just fine.
in my pixel 6a i cant find any dialer code and all i see is rotting options. i dont want to root my device in order to not loose Gpay/banking and / or my work profile.
any solutions? wifi calling is important for me..

Bummer....thats usually a carrier thing.
Google's been blocking various connectivity features (such as 5G, VoLTE, VoWIFI) in countries that are not "Pixel official".
They've been doing this for years now (since the first Pixel), and it seems that there's not intention on their part to enable it any time soon.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/x1wpzq
Feel free to unreluctantly join tens/hundreds of thousands Pixel users that figured this out a little bit too late. With all due respect, Google can go **** themselves and I will never purchase one of their (physical) products unless they change this ridiculous policy.
P.s., there are plenty of mods (with root) that can enable all these connectivity features in Pixels in unofficial countries, just conduct a proper research before. Most (if not all) cell providers that support all these features with other brands support Pixel too, it's only on Google's end.

Oh sh*t, lol, didn't notice your name is נועם Guess we're on the same boat here in Israel.
I think that there is a way to do it, but as far as I know, the current solution is only temporary until Google blocks it all over. XDA's servers are giving me a hard time right now, but try to look for it somewhere on Pixel 6/6 Pro forums, just saw it yesterday.
In any case, I suspect that Google's intentions for not enabling connectivity on "non Pixel-official countries" has to do with their Fi network:

Curious..when you use the camera, is the shutter sound forced on still? I guess Japan phones due to local laws the camera HAS to have a shutter sound and I've heard reports that it's persistant even when flashing another firmware/region. Would like to now if this is still the case.

That is so crazy. I wonder how they are able to do that in the sense of hardware and different firmware versions. I guess maybe the Japan version has some sort of physical hardware that the other regions don't? Just from the hypothetical of flashing a different region on a presumably identical device, I would have [first] thought that the device would function exactly the same as an non-Japan model of that flashed region. And to require additional steps to stil turn off the shutter, makes me even more curious. LOL. It's like a super secret shadow NAND or something..lol
Thanks for confirming.
* Maybe it's an EFS thing the FWs don't normally touch.Or certain NV entries. Hmm. I wonder if actually "cloning" a complete EFS/NV from one region to another another phone would do it.
** I have a QPST NV dump from a 4a5g I traded in. If anyone has a Japan 4a5g with the forced shutter and wanna try nuking from my dump and see if it works, would be cool to seeif it did. Would change IMEI and everything else tho so one would have to know how to change that stuff back which is not really allowed here and I'm not telling..lol

It's done via software based on the hardware version of the device.
