Unlock your tethering possibilities!
With this simple app you can, finally, use your Mobile Data plan, to surf with your notebook or any device you want, without having to pay any extra to your network operator!
As you can see here, since Android 4.1.2, Google introduced a new tethering function to "mark" tethering packets, so the operator can bill the user for that traffic separately from the traffic generated locally by the phone. May be useful even with Android 2.3+, when tethering problems occurs.
This app makes a simple trick to the routing table, to permit tethering traffic to proceed to the mobile network without any modification :victory:
PLUS, on the premium version, there is an on boot unlock function that will patch the routing table at every reboot, automatically. This way you can forget about the existence of this app and freely enable tethering when you need.

If you use "superuser" on some ROMs you cannot get root privileges. To solve this, download "SuperSU".

Uhm, sir, noob question from a noob person...
Does this app ,of yours, works like those WiFi Tethering apps like Barnacle WiFi / OpenGarden...?
And if it so, how does this differ from those apps?
And if it isn't so, does my phone required to have WiFi Tethering and Hotspot support to use this?

This app only patches original mobile WiFi hotspot (tethering) Android application.
This way you can use what tethering application included in Android distribution, there is no need of external applications like opengarden.
BTW I think, but not assure, that my app will unlock third party tethering application too, so you can use whatever tethering application you want and test if with my patch the tethering starts working.
If you do that, please, report the result here, so I can add compatibility.

Android stock mobile WiFi hotspot uses NAT, so...yes, your operator sees only your phone's MAC address.

This is simple, you have only to unlock tethering with this app, then try to surf with your PC, through the mobile WiFi network created by the phone. If you can see something and you have not paid anything for that....it works.
I suggest to call your operator and ask for disabling the tethering profile. This way (the one I've done) if you can surf the web from your PC, you're sure not to pay. In case the app is not working gor you, and you're using the standard tethering APN (and your operator will charge for that), the connection will be interrupted and you will be not charged for anything.

Nexus6, VZW (unlimited plan), does not work. Checks for subscription, then says "Your order could not be processed", and fails.

Developer corrected the issues, this appears to be working on N6 in lastest version!

I had NO working tether on this phone since purchase 2 weeks ago (tether was working on retired Apple 3GS - same 1 GB data plan). I probably could have gotten it working on the new Android with a call to FIDO tech support, but I remember when i bought the new SIM card, the sales guy at the mall kiosk warned me that FIDO calculates their tethering data a "little differently" than phone data, and that I might notice higher-than-expected usage totals on my statement...

I'm currently working on a brand new application, with Material Design graphics.
Also the engine is updated, hopefully supporting more unlocking techniques.
Unfortunately my job does not help me in this; I've very small amount of time to write this app, therefore I cannot give you an estimation about when I'll be able to release it. Sorry.

Hi Marco & thanks for your app.
I've had it on my phone for a while, and it has been working fine, however due to the ever increasing load on my ram & cpu from all the apps & google service updates, I have had to prevent a bunch of system processes & apps from running.
This has stopped your app from working.
Can you please list the system apps/processes that your tether unlocker app needs access to or need to be running so I can enable just the necessary ones thanks?

Ok so I did everything in the APN settings an then I was going to download the app and pay for it. Cause i need this unlimited thethering and hotspot on my ZTE zmax pro for the whole house. But when I opened the app to download I seen it says for rooted phones an I haven't rooted my phone yet so is there a way for non rooted phones.. please lmk [email protected]

Hi, I updated to MM yesterday and phone works a little bit faster, more smooth on menu or setting changes.
I dont see any UI or UX changes.
Fingerprint sensor was very laggy and hard time to read and I rescanned my fingers to get it work.
Camera software is same (overall taking good pics)
Cannot say anything about battery just updated the device
Process takes long time and first I got error via LG Bridge ( For Mac ) and then tried OTA, after 3 hours I was able to connect to OTA update center.(Dont give up trying)
Knock Code is using 6 touches at least instead of 4, this really bothered me.
If I see more then I'll keep you informed guys.

OTA is 890MB approx, but via pc it is 1.64GB

Can anyone check if the update allows you to unlock previously unlockable bootloaders now?
To do so, enable developers options and enable OEM unlock (may wipe your data)

A:The notification is necessary to ensure DroidLock isn't killed by the system or cleaning apps like Clean Master. For now don't disable the notifications by going to App Info. Reason: On 3 wrong password attempts it will send a notification that 'Pin reset to master Pin'

A: Restart the device and enter master pin.
Q: Does the master PIN stays the unlock password even after 1st Unlock?
A: In some devices like Sony Xperia, it takes about 3 minutes for the app to initialize itself and set the unlock password as per the options selected.

A: Report the bug in detail along with the logs and a video to support your claim.

For phones that have a proximity sensor in front, would it be possible to add to the settings of the app an additional feature whether or not the proximity sensor is covered to make it work? An additional security feature for those that want it.

Why just 1,000? We need more than that number
We'll improve DroidLock App as time goes on and try to add the feature suggested by you.
You can check our future roadmap in the OP. We cannot give you any ETAs for suggested features.

Are you on latest beta version?
Did you try clearing app's data? (First go to Settings->Security->Device Admin Rights->Uncheck DroidLock App and now clear data of the app)

Thanks for using DroidLock. Do share your experience with us so that we can understand how many devices are supported by DroidLock and how many of them are not.

Can we have an option to enter the md5# of the current time?

I didn't even use internet today but it shows I used 1.6GB! And I don't use wifi any way but same things there!
And please set a option to reset information too
And if used darker background I think it would be better
And notification:I think that if you set option that 1_always shows 2_only when connected it would be better
All of them are my opinion and maby don't like them but I always happy to show them
It's at beta stage but at all it is great

Yep
After a reboot it shows things correct
But wifi
I don't use it at all
But it shows 560mb mothnly and today 12kb(I didn't even turn on it)
I think that it should be bc of shareit(monthly section)
Bc I send one of my friends the file whit this size
And I use j500h with bootleggers pie rom

With a single view one could get all required info. Really like it.
Just two things I recognized:
1) The Network Speed chart at the top of the app window has black axis labeling on dark grey background. This is not readable for me.
2) I'm using AdGuard in local VPN mode. Like almost all other internet speed apps, the displayed internet speed is too high (factor of ~3). Anything you can do to about that??

Hey, I'm trying out your app on my Redmi Note 5 (whyred) global version phone with the Pixel Experience Plus 9.0 (Pie) custom ROM. It generally works well but here are two issues that I've noticed.
1) When I upload a file to cloud storage such as Google Drive, the speed notification in the status bar doesn't show the upload speed which is more important than the download speed in that situation.
2) It seems that the WiFi and data usage totals in the notification only update approximately every 3 MB. Can these numbers be updated more often?
As for the chart in your app, the top and sides should be labeled with units to make it easier to understand.

I have some suggestions but I'm sure they are already in your to-do list.
1 To be able to change the unit from KB/s to MB/s etc
2 To also have the UP on the status bar as an option.
3 To be able to select what information is shown on the notification before expanding it. For example I'd like to see only my monthly total.
4 If it's possible to have the notification appear/disappear when network is available.

1) At the moment it's just a download speed. In next update there will be a notification config so you'll be able to set all of those.
2) It gets updated every 5 seconds.

1. Units per second are already automatic. Till the 999 KB you'll see the KB/s after that it'll be 1.0+/MB/s.
2. That's on TO-DO hopefully on a next update
3. In one of the next updates
4. I can do some workaround

Question Wi-Fi calling in non supported country

Hi
i want to enable wifi calling but cant
the option doesn't exist on the SIM menu.
i come from zenfone and xiaomi devices, in both cases i have just typed some dialer codes and the option appeared. wifi calling worked just fine.
in my pixel 6a i cant find any dialer code and all i see is rotting options. i dont want to root my device in order to not loose Gpay/banking and / or my work profile.
any solutions? wifi calling is important for me..

This is the same way to get into the phone info settings forever. The WiFi calling provisioning toggle is there, but not sure your can change it.

Google's been blocking various connectivity features (such as 5G, VoLTE, VoWIFI) in countries that are not "Pixel official".
They've been doing this for years now (since the first Pixel), and it seems that there's not intention on their part to enable it any time soon.

P.s., there are plenty of mods (with root) that can enable all these connectivity features in Pixels in unofficial countries, just conduct a proper research before. Most (if not all) cell providers that support all these features with other brands support Pixel too, it's only on Google's end.

I think that there is a way to do it, but as far as I know, the current solution is only temporary until Google blocks it all over. XDA's servers are giving me a hard time right now, but try to look for it somewhere on Pixel 6/6 Pro forums, just saw it yesterday.
In any case, I suspect that Google's intentions for not enabling connectivity on "non Pixel-official countries" has to do with their Fi network:

You can unlock bootloader, install magisk, patch boot img and boot it for rooting. Use Shamiko for bank apps to work.
