Hi folks!
My intention is to get openvpn working: I'm relatively new to Android and I'm trying to convince my ME511 on a one-click rooted 2.6.29-omap1 kernel with Android 2.1-update1 to load the tun.ko extension.
I think I need a newer build due the device is relatively new, too.
Builds I googled throughout the internet don't load with insmod. Nor do I have modprobe... so there's no tun support by default and I need to solve that as the last missing problem to get openvpn working.
Could someone give a short walkthrough on how this is done? For the Droid 2 and Droid X devices people have working builds.
Thanks for answers,
Marius
HI guys! I need help with compiling Bochs for android, Bochs is a virtual machine that emulates diffrent Operating systems on android such as windows 98,XP and many others!
Korv2003 compiled bochs 2.5.1 for android back in 2008 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1389700
but no one has compiled it since then and we are not getting any new versions out. Me and alot more would be extremely glad if someone that knows how to compile these files could compile the new Bochs versions 2.6.1 and beyond, for android!
The newer versions are both faster and have more features! So please anyone that knows how to do this help out !

Bump
it seems that no one is interested in this project. i'd love to see any new version because the 2.5.1 out there is really out of date and slow as hell. i've read that newer versions are speed up to 50%. i can't understand why no1 tries to port version 2.6.6 to android.

I can take a crack at it. I'm not a pro at porting apps. I just recently learned how so don't hold your breath. I will give it the ol' college try though

Did you manage to do it?
Hopefully someone will post the latest version..
It's already been done. Check here, you can compile it yourself. There's a build file for each operating system and instructions for android in the Android folder. Not my work, just a lucky find. https://github.com/lubomyr/bochs?files=1
tried this version (russian), but you can try use google translate.
in russian 4pda. ru there is detailed manual for 2.6.8 .
just search BOCHS для Android, Эмулятор Pentium PC для Андроид
I have a digital ocean server to compile it and upload the latest RR build (7.0.2 or newer) but im getting some errors (thanks enesuzun2002 all the rights to him to make it posible). I mailed him but I did not get answer. This is the error im facing. I need help I was using ubuntu 16.04 and enesuzun2002 zero.xml. Let me help our community S6.
(the version 7.01 has an error that blacks screen on any crash so it would be fixed in newer rr versions)
im newbie so i cant post url

Hi, I have a samsung a8 2018 and I wanted to switch with a custom rom like LineageOS, but it seems they aren't any, I was wondering if I could build my own rom or if it is too complicated
So if someone could send me some links (I already search on the web, but not really clear...) to know how does it work, and how to build a rom.You can explain to me if you want to ^^. That would very cool.
Thanks in advance !
android isn't something you can just get on your computer and build in 1 day.
there also isn't a lineage device tree for the a8 so you must create one yourself which will be very hard for someone just starting.
Hi Everyone!
I'm very new to this topic, this is my very first time trying to build a kernel from source code. As setup i've a samsung a13 SM-A135M (which is the 4g version of a13 series), this phone by default is forced to work 32bit on a processor and hardware that has the capability to go full 64bit.
The question is:
I've inquiried the correct version and baseband that corresponds to my device, on https://opensource.samsung.com/, and they uploaded the source code of it (the baseband is A135MUBU1AVB5), so with this source code should i be able to build a 64bit version of both kernel and android OS , or this source code only works for 32 bit installations?
Thanks and Regards!
Hi, I just asked a very similar question here: https://androidforums.com/threads/i...this-problem-a13-samsung.1347411/unread?new=1
And someone's reply brought me to your thread. I don't exactly know much about coding but an experienced user said he did some searching, his answer is on my thread. As of now there is no way that he could find to get a 64bit software on the a13, hopefully this changes.
Hi!! thats right, the problem that you have is what has driven this question, although i've the source code for building the OS i'm waiting for someone more experienced to tell me if this source is able to build a 64 bit version of the OS and Kernel for the A13 phone. Hope we find this experienced person

That would be great I think the a13 is great value for the price now we just need to get around the software limitations
