Hey guys,
I just bought the S21+, overall great phone except couple of issue with Android Auto and Whatsapp.
I was able to fix the Android Auto issue (wouldn't connect, had to remove the latest Google Chrome updates) but the whatsapp issue is above my paygrade.
I scanned the QR code and everything works but as soon as the phone screen goes black, whatsapp is slow and disconnects often. Not completely disconnected as after I send a message perhaps 10/15 seconds later it gets set but still not responsive as before (S8+)
Any idea?

Hard to say.
Have you network/internet connection issues?
Are you connected via WiFi or mobile data?
You should check connection settings. Try if it makes a difference if you are connected via WiFi or mobile data.
And if you have installed an adblocker, try disabling. Just to be sure that this is not the culprit.
And I would check for system and app updates.
After you running stock Samsung firmware? Hopefully not disabled any system app.
And the issues with WhatsApp are in the Android app or using WhatsApp desktop on a PC?
EDIT:
Now I have seen the title with WhatsApp web.
Do you have the same issue with WhatsApp desktop app on PC?
The smartphone needs internet access, so if it's locked, it still should be connected to the internet. So you should check the (energy saving) settings that WhatsApp and internet access well not be set to standby when the phone is locked.
I think I have been able to resolve this issue for me. I have Samsung Galaxy S20 FE and due to WFH, it is connected over WiFi. Once the phone gets locked due to idle timeout, the Whatsapp Web would get disconnected on my Laptop.
Resolution:
I followed the following steps
Go to Settings -> Connections -> WiFi.
Click on Settings Icon for the Current Network that you are connected on.
Expand the Advanced menu.
Change option for Metered Network as "Treat as unmetered"
This should solve your Whatsapp Web Disconnect issue.

I have the same error and I still can't solve it
Same problem but above solution didn't work for me either
A bit late, but I was having the same problem and think I found a solution.
1. Go to Settings (In Android)
2. Apps.
3. Find Whats App.
4. Usage --> Battery.
5. Select Optimized or Unrestricted (Mine was set at "Restricted")
Hope that works!

Since upgrading my S6 to 5.1.1 my S6 seems to put apps to sleep with screen off, but not always.
So twitter for example is still receiving updates.
But Whatsapp not always, so sometimes need to open the app before it receives its messages.
Same goes for the web app from whatsapp, when the phone goes to sleep after 1 min +/-'s the app goes to sleep and the web app loses its connection.
This was never the case before the upgrade and is insanely annoying.
The keep wifi alive while asleep is on....
Tried the option under #*011* for the wifi power management, but does not seem to fix it.
As twitter still works it also seems to be something else?
Anyone know this problem and better yet how to fix it?
Go to recovery mode and wipe cache.
I have the exact same issue. My messages wont load untill i wake up / unlock the phones.
It can be anything.
Whats app
LIne messages
Kakao messages
nothing loads unless i unlock the phone.
I am selling my s6 tomorrwo for G4. This is my second S6 that isnt working properly. First one had simcard issue. This one has wifi issue.
To me it seems like its a wifi issue. Try if you face the same issue when on Data network ?
Sigh...
Did that, did not fix it.
So I just got the phone a few days ago and I've started to notice some strange happenings. Whenever I get notifications for my apps or messages they always come at the same time. Say I have a text message come in, it will then push facebook or something like that and show messages that I have from the messenger app. Is this normal behavior?
@Demonlinx This has been happening since the first day for me too. I've noticed this only happens when I'm on WiFi, if I'm on data I get my push notifications the moment they happen (all except Google hangouts for some odd reason). I don't have the Facebook app installed but this is a constant annoyance I've been dealing with for a while now, it seems as if when the screen is off its not pulling in data when connected to WiFi, but as soon as I get a text message or turn the screen on my notifications come rushing in all at the same time. Are you on WiFi too when you notice this happening? Or is it all the time?
@elpindian Ok, so I noticed that this happens only when I'm on WiFi as well.. Although it seems intermittent because I've been getting other notifications via a wifi connection, i.e Twitter, Snapchat, etc.. So I'm not sure what is causing this issue. I'll keep trying to mess around with it and see what I come up with.. Are you stock? Do you have connection optimizer turned on? Mine is off. Tl;Dr I only notice this happening sometimes and it only happens (so far) on WiFi.
edit: I found that if I enable WiFi and Mobile Data at the same time it seems to eliminate this issue, I'm trying to test using just WiFi and seeing if the problem still exists.

Try a data reset by dialing ##72786#
@Demonlinx I am stock with no plans on rooting until there is a fully functional AOSP rom out there for our device. I have disabled connection optimizer as well, but haven't turned data off even while on WiFi. Is there a specific setting to do this besides the disabling data option? I never turn my data off since I have unlimited, does connecting to WiFi automatically turn off data? Because I know if I did turn it off I wouldn't be able to receive MMS and I definitely still get all my MMS with no problems.. Snapchat and twitter have delayed notifications when I'm on WiFi but work flawlessly when I'm only on data.
@Soooperstar thanks man but I've been told by a Sprint and Samsung rep before to try that and still I have these issues... Could it maybe be a problem on our router's end? I've noticed that this doesn't happen with every WiFi connection I have; i.e if I'm at my gfs house who has her at&t router vs my Comcast router.. I've also noticed that if my screen is off for more than a couple minutes while connected to WiFi my android wear watch will give me the offline message if I try and interact with it. It's as if the phone stops any internet connection while it's sleeping, somewhat annoying because I can't just walk around the house and expect to receive notifications on my wearable without waking up the phone (phone calls and texts excluded).

Could be..... Kinda hard to troubleshoot. The only one I have a problem with is Tapatalk and XDA app. I think that one may be related
@Soooperstar it's weird, I think it has something to do with the phones deep sleep issues and Sammy has yet to figure out all the bugs. I love the build of this phone but can't stand the software. I'm ready to move on to a Nexus device when the next one releases.
Anyone else? I can't see any other threads about people experiencing bugs with these latest updates.
I'm forever losing connection, calendar notifications come through despite being on my blocked list, it's a bit laggy and google assistant works when it feels like it.

Mine works without any problem o.o
I've been reading people with lag or buggy screens but at least not in my case.
Model: LEO-DLXX
have you tried:
- turn off Bluetooth
- clean data and cache from wear os (Android wear) app
- Uninstall wear os app
- 'forget' your watch from Bluetooth devices
- restart phone
- factory reset your watch
With this procedure it should be a clean install again. Good luck!
working good here for me
I also got this problem too, I tried factory reset the watch but still no connection:crying:
Same problem here with bluetooth. Connection gets broken at half the distance that I could go with the old OS on it.
And worse, it will not reconnect when i'm close to my phone. I have to shut down the watch and start it again.
it also uses it own GPS for location services and not the one on the phone when connected, so batterylife goes down.

I have the very same problem described here.
BT connection breaks down and the watch won't reconnect. Since the update, it's connected to my wifi all the time now when I'm at home, but not to my phone anymore. After a restart of the watch, Bluetooth connection works for a few minutes, but once it loses the connection, it's back to wifi only.
Never had such problems before...
I can confirm the GPS problem as well.
In addition to that, I noticed that every time I restart the watch, it downloads some Google TTS data. Again and again. Strange. (Btw, it says it needs wifi for the download, so maybe this is related?)
i had a problem when mine updated the other month and I had to reset Watch and AW a few times to get it working again. It seems unlike the older versions unless you use the watch for answering calls, it will not show as connected under the phone BT settings, but if go into the Wear app it will say connected.
I'm not sure when last got an update, but last night it never tracked my sleep, so restarted watch today and noticed it is now on March 2018 security update and today i have also received an update on my phone for Wear OS.
A factory reset of the watch, reinstallation of the Wear OS app on my phone and allowing the Wear OS app to override the deep sleep settings on my phone fixed this problem for me.
Hi guys!
I did a lot of googling and searching through XDA, but never found a solution for my problem, so I might as well try it here.
Recently I updated my Sony Xperia X Compact to AOSP 10. Now when I am connected to wifi (and it does NOT matter whether it is 2.4/5GHz or IPv4/IPv6, I tried everything) and my screen is locked, my system seems to put the wifi connection into some kind of battery saving mode. Notifications then will hardly come through. You can also see this in WhatsApp Web - every two minutes or so, "Phone not connected" will show up, and messages take up to 2 or 3 mins to get delivered. Then I can use Whatsapp Web normally for 30 secs, after which my phone seems to disconnect again. If I unlock my screen, WhatsApp Web will immediately (!) start working normally again, also missing notifications (e.g. Signal) will then come through.
While of course this might be a ROM bug, I am at least 100% sure it IS ROM-related, as I used exactly the same phone with exactly the same router without any problems while on Android 9 LineageOS.
Another interesting thing - if I charge my phone, during charging WhatsApp Web works completely without problems. The moment i UNPLUG the phone, wifi gets somewhat throttled agian.
Does anybody know a working solution for this? I do not have the option "Disable wifi sleep" or something similar - i believe Google has dropped this option somewhere around Pie.
Thanks in advance!

AFAIK there are kind of wifi energy saving options on some devices. But IDK if you can enable or disable wifi when phone is locked
Hi guys,
I have a very strange behaviour of my P7P.
When I activate the flight mode, the displays shows the corresponding logos. But I still have internet connection via mobile network.
When activating Wi-Fi, the connection switches to Wi-Fi.
The phone is not rooted but I installed Tasker and toggled flight mode dependent on the location an also did this with Wi-Fi- Therefore, I installed Tasker settings (old version as proposed by Tasker developer to be able to switch Wi-Fi).
Additionally, I installed aodNotify. The rest of the apps is pretty much normal (banking, wallet, some games, nothing specific to mention).
For some time, restarting the phone led to a not connecting mobile connection but this is working now.
I already reset the network settings without any benefit.
Is there anyone with a similar experience or hint how to solve that strange issue?
Best regards,
Matthias
One thing to add: When restarting the phone in the state of flight mode being enabled, I can't get any mobile network connection afterwards no matter what I try.
Only by starting the phone again, it will be possible to connect again.
Just tried what you wrote here, and I can't reproduce your issue, are you sure you have internet connection, or is the phone showing cached info?
Sounds like you need to factory reset the phone, and or ensure you are running the latest firmware.
I also thought about cached info but ensured it was not. I received (new) mails, messenger messages from WhatsApp and Threema and other stuff.
By checking the IP, I saw that the mobile connection was the problem. The Wi-Fi was disconnected.
Ich flashed to the BETA program, that didn't solve the issue.
So I factory resetted yesterday and everything is fine now.
I can only imagine that my old Tasker settings somehow mixed things up and caused that behaviour. But I was not able to find out what it was exactly.
