[Q] Problem with the Contacts

Hello
Problem: About 90% of my contacts have a "/1" at the end of them. For example:
Luis/1
John/1
Ashley/1
and so on...
When I login to my gmail none of them have the "/1". I sync my contacts but they still show the "/1" in my phone. How can I fix this?
I deleted all the contacts from my Sim Card, so I am only using and showing the Google Contacts.

I got it fixed. In case anyone out there is having this problem this is how to fix it.
For some reason my contacts were being "linked" with gmail and phone, even though I had the option to only show Gmail contacts.
To Fix It
You have to do this individually, for each contact.
Open a contact, and under "Linked Contacts" delete the one from the phone or the one showing the "/1".

hello there i have xt720 with stuck 2.1
i imported my contacts to memory card then rooted and installed open recovery then flashed cyanogenmod now when i restored my contacts the are all ??????
the numbers are there but the names are all question marks
i reverted back to 2.1 and rested my contacts again but it's the same plz help me
i will attach my backup file

it is easier to SYNC to your Gmail account
just use WiFi to prevent any data charges

the problem is i don't have my contacts on gmail this is the only backup i have plz help

from the phone, in the Dial App, you can select the option to Sync to your Gmail account
it automatically gets created

Telephone can not see contacts

I lost my all contacts in phone contacts. They are present in phone because I see the numbers when calling to me but I do not see them on my phone contacts. Import contacts from sd card progressing well but are still not visible. Any ideas? Thanks

try to open contacts,tap menu, tap filter, then uncheck "online contacts" (and if you need it "contacts with phone numbers"), now your contacts should be visible

Thanks fo reply but the problem still exists. I cannot add any contacts yet. This occur aftert update Avast program and adroid process was stopped
But, I tried checked contacts in filtr and that helped my problem. Thank You for reply

[Q] Contacts numbers and names mixed up

Before I wipe my contacts clean and try syncing again, has anyone seen this happen?
I was talking to someone on WhatsApp (WhatsApp uses your phone contacts) when suddenly the name of the person I was talking to changed to someone elses name in my contacts, who I have never spoken to on WhatsApp
Then I realise all of my contacts have other peoples numbers added to them as primary and secondary numbers, it has basically taken numbers from random contacts and added them to random wrong contacts
They are all still 100% correct on contacts.google.com, but totally screwed up on my phone
Any ideas?

Well it's fixed, luckily I exported my Gmail contacts yesterday, because as soon as I deleted my phone contacts, it decided to sync and delete them from gmail too, even though I'd been trying to get gmail to sync them numerous times prior to the deletion and it refused
Imported them back into gmail and it synced to my phone again

Do clear the contact data
You can clear the contact data from the phone and restore it using your email. check out the TechRounder blog for any doubt.

contacts disappear once a month

My wife's phone is a rooted nexus 5 running marshmallow. She does not sync with Google and AFWall is installed.
About once a month her contacts all disappear. When she clicks on Contacts, it is blank. I fortunately have a vcf backup of her contacts and quickly restore them. But I can't figure out why this happens.
Any ideas? Contacts are the only things that disappear.
