So here is the good news guys Xiaomi has now realised that google has much more developer resources to built better camra apps and alogrithem and that is why it is being said they are offically adding Hal3 and API2 supports from8.11.8 this rom is in close beta now but that means in future updates we can see native gcam support...
Which in other term means just installing or side loading the gcam app will be sufficient for gcam to work...
Here is the source of the news
https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/11/...om-opens-doors-for-google-camera-app-support/
Good to know.
Please. Carefully read the news before posting such thread.
"The MIUI 10 update has extended support for HAL3/Camera2API which is required by Google Camera app to run on any Android device."
Is not :
"We will support native gcam app"
But more like :
"Porting gcam will be simpler"
Good information!!! but before posting some thread this should be on the XIOAMI POCO F1 GUIDES , NEWS , DISCUSSION. Thanks

whats the difference? you should read it with open eyes I guess.
Noob question: with this, will Gcam be able to make use of the second camera? Or simply Gcam isn't made with this purpose and only use the main camera (as pixel phones only have one)?
Poco Always had camera api2 enabled, no big news for us
Now we 'only' need 60fps video recording....

It means you can't install official gcam from playstore. If you install the official version, it won't work. But it will be easier for developer to make it work for Poco.
If it's really natively supported, then some features will be disabled. Do you really think google will give their cam tech freely? They want you to buy their phones. While the ported version will have the features enabled.
For poco it was available out of the box , they enabled cam2api for all xiaomi devices now :good: ✌

Hello,
I am looking for a rom usable everyday (stable and good battery management) for Android 9.0.
I hesitate between Arrow OS, POSP and Bootlegger.
What do you advise me objectively (with your comparisons if there is)?
I have more attraction for the Arrow OS because it was more advisable (but the POSP with agent_fabulos attracts me too)
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
at the moment I use the unofficial LinaAge 16 build:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/development/rom-lineage-16-0-bacon-t3894699/page1
Therefore I used Tugapower, which is LineAge based. In both roms there was no single reboot or force close of any app. Wifi, GPS and all I use works perfect. I also like the LineAge camera and gallery. It's also nice, that if you're using the dark theme, the notifications are still in a light theme. At other, mostly AOSP based, roms I had problems with camera, torch and some theme issues.
What I'm really missing is that button remapping isn't implemented as good as in AOSP-based roms.
I don't use Gapps, Bluetooth or NFC. So I can't say something about that.
An other point of interest (at least for me): I think, that the support for LineAge is more guaranteed in future, since this is a big team with a lots of developers, which are active. I tested a lot of roms in the last months and many of them are discontinued now. If you're flashoholic this is no problem. But if you want a rim for the next months ...
There's also a "Flashoholic" thread (I think in the "General" section). And also a "Flashoholic" Telegram group, of you're interested in flashing a new rom every week ...
A, I forgot: battery is also good on LineAge (I'm using build in "battery saving" mode. - Also a unique LineAge feature, AFAIK.).

Sincerely, thank you for taking the time for your advice.
Have you tried POSP rom or Arrow OS?
Of course I can install them to test but having feedback is always constructive.
Do not hesitate if other people want to share.

Yeah. Today I tested ArrowOS: still problems with the build in torch. Yesterday I tested the new POSP build: still bootloop when trying to flash latest Magisk... Now I'm back on... LineAge
Hi
well i was thinking how about creating a clean thread of explaining all the Android and Miui running background services like rg.codeaurora.ims,miui.external.Application,com.qualcomm.qti.uim e.t.c
so any one who wants to make slim his MIUI by removing services which is useless for personal daily usage?
i know there are many like threads but none of them are FULL explained what every service does.
(Devs can freely delete this )
Do it
Sent from my Xiaomi Poco F1 using XDA Labs
Let's Go Man
i am very interested in this
Go ahead, I want to have all relevant information in single thread
Can someone help me with this problem, because when i use some apps with screen sharing features like messenger or discord, the shared audio is not working but in my phone it has. Thanks for the answers
We usually know EU or EEA Rom for xiaomi as popular choices.
But sometimes new models are not supported immediately or minor bugs are not fixed immediately
Last month happened to know miui vietsub, this rom has full language like international versions.
upside
-Smooth and stable like china rom
-Notifications not late
-super icoin of xiaomi theme can be used without paying
-When there is an error, the dev will fix it quickly
-Amazing at the quickness of the development team. Xiaomi 13U after 7 days of launch has vietsub rom
downside
-There are still small bugs like other roms but don't worry the rom will fix it soon
