Hi, i recently flashed Evolution x in my Redmi note 7 Using Orange fox recovery, i tried to recover my deleted photos that are on internal storage that were deleted when i wiped my data , i installed Disk digger with root access and Undeleter app , Unfortunately none of them found a single photo on internal storage , by the way , orange fox asks for a pin code which i don't have, to access internal storage should i Factory reset again to Remove encryption and Scan again for Photos ? Is there any other way ?
A Factory Reset deletes all user-data hence photos, too. Because the files aren't physically removed from internal storage memory - they simply are marked as useable space - they may get recovered, but that needs forensic tools as NSA and Israeli National Agency may have, IMO
Anyway:
To create a backup ( dump ) of the part of internal storage memory you are intested in you can run ADB command sequence as follows:
Code:
adb devices
adb exec-out "dd if=/storage/emulated/0/Photos" > "C:\Photos-Dump.iso"
Good luck.

This command is only going to create a backup of my existing photos right ?

Yes, you can easily recover your photos with the help of free tool such as Stellar Data Recovery for android which help you to get back your deleted or lost photos from your internal memory storage. i hope this information would helpful for you! Thanks.
If you have enabled the backup on Google account or local backup of Mi cloud then, you can restore data of your phone. So, you can check your backup on your mobile. If you have unable to restore photos from Google backup then, you can also try best Android recovery software on PC. I hope it will helpful for you. Thanks!

Hi,
Today i wanted to install Sultanxda CM13, so I carefully wiped only data, system, cache, dalvik cache & ART in Multirom-TWRP 3.0.0 after taking backups in Titanium Backup & nandroid backups. Then I went to wipe>advanced wipe>ticked system>fs options>change fs>selected f2fs & swiped . Same I did for data & cache (formatted only /data, /system & /cache). After that, when I when I went to install zip, MY INTERNAL STORAGE WAS EMPTY! (Also, 54GB space remaining in internal storage) :crying::crying::crying::crying:: OH DAMN S**T . I am very very sure I didnt wipe or format Internal Storage. And now my whole internal storage is gone (IT HAD VERY VERY IMPORTANT VIDEOS, PHOTOS & DOCUMENTS).
SO PLEASE HELP ME IN RECOVERING THE FILES. And curse you TWRP 3.0.0!
EDIT 1: I just saw this xda thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...de-internal-memory-data-recovery-yes-t1994705. But it needs ADB & root access, and I dont have OS. Installing OS isnt a problem or me, but if I install OS, some files would be written on data partition, and that would decrease the chances of file recovery. So any way to access root & adb without OS? @DaxNagtegaal and other people can you please help?
EDIT 2: I tried to use root in adb (in TWRP), but it doesnt work. So I installed COS12.1 YOG7DAS2K1-signed flashable zip & SUperSU 2.65 as a last resort in TWRP, booted it, skipped any data restore (to do it later), installed busybox and now I am trying the long-method given here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...de-internal-memory-data-recovery-yes-t1994705 (Now I am making .raw file of the internal storage block through adb). (It seems its gonna take about 8 hours to completely make the vhd file).
Buy an otg cable download a rom on your pc,transfer it to your pc and voila else you can also buy a usb which can be plug directly in your mobile.i think you will be able to recover some file because rom won't take over 54gb.
Please read properly. I installed COS 12.1 YOG7DAS2K1 as a last resort. Now I am trying to recover the data.
I don't think you will be able to recover all the files but atleast some will be recoverable as rom won't take over all space, how many files were there?which files were valuable to you? it its photos?as i once lost my pictures since then im using google photos!
Yup, many pics, some documents, some text files (in which I save all my passwords, usernames, etc) & videos (also game data ).
ah ok i feel you mate, now when you are up and running just use google photos for pictures and googledrive or dropbox for your important files, atleast you know you will be safe if ever you encounter any issue.
Try " delete " like recovery app .once i tried and recover nearly 500 photos but i hadn't try to recover files .
If you change data to f2fs this will wipe your internal storage. Just do a backup next time and inform you more.
Hi guys, I deleted some videos and photos from my Huawei 9 Mate the normal way before I let go, but I want to be sure that no one can restore it. I also downloaded Shreddit app and I will use it on empty storage space. Are any data still recorevable after this ? I did a little research and found out that Huawei can't be encrypted, so can anyone give me a tip, what to do, so no one could recover any data ? Thanks

You will be fine, are you that concerned? Chances of someone actually digging old information out is NOT LIKELY going to happen unless for some reason the phone lands in the wrong hands and involves authorities
to get clean, you can use this app -> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apparillos.android.androshredder
to get a safer access to your personal files, you can use this app -> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.egosecure.uem.encryption
but 100% safeness, seems to be impossible until now. (depending on whoever gets the device in their hands)
Hi, thank you for your tips. I downloaded both apps. I already deleted the files a week ago, so now I just have to wipe the internal storage, but it doesn't give you the option to wipe just empty space. I will have to wipe everything. Is the Andro Shredder better than Shreddit ? With Shreddit you can wipe just internal empty space. The EgoSecure Encryption seems just to encrypt single files, can I encrypt the whole storage before factory reset ? In Huawei there is also function called "safe" when I go to security (I don't have the english version), where you can choose password for the whole internal storage, wouldn't this be enough for encryption ? Thanks
i have no own experience with the Huawei build in encryption.
EgoSecure is also able to encrypt the whole folders if you need.
AndroShredder can cleanup and shredder internal and external SD! Sometimes you have to go to the upper right side to the 3 dots to select "show internal drive too" to be able to have access to both sd cards.
I had tried both apps (androshredder and shreddit). androshredder has won because i can't get access with shreddit to files on external sd! they are shown with a lock symbol.
Go into Recovery Mode, then select 'wipe data...' and 'wipe cache...'.
For two day I've been trying to recover (photos and videos) that I deleted from albums and from Deleted Folder saved on device main storage, not SD card nor Google photos.
I tried almost all data/media recovery apps from Google Play with no results, as some require rooted device to achieve this purpose right. I also tried some PC software but without root enabled no recovery was possible.
So, I finally was able to root the mobile with VMOS unlocker, but it added another operating system to the mobile, so whatever recovery attempt made, it does not search into the original OS storage, thus it can't locate nor recover the deleted files.
I would truly appreciate any help to recover the deleted files, if possible.

Hi i recently made a backup with wondershare mobile trans and it created a .BAK file of 30gb and it is corrupted i don't know why, I can't read videos and photos (if you know any way to access the data in it even if it is corrupted please tell me), i tried extracting it with winrar but it only extracts 6gb of some photos , the rest is corrupted it can't finish extraction.
I flashed a new rom and orange fox recovery , i have root access , i installed disk digger with full root access but it can't find any photo (not a single one) in my internal storage , is there any way to recover my photos from internal storage ?
I flashed my phone before knowing The backup file .BAK was corrupted
If you flash a ROM then Android's internal storage memory - who is surprised ? - gets completely overwritten, means previously stored data have been lost.

I formatted internal storage before flashing the new rom
Steps to recover your deleted data from your rooted Android device-
1. Connect Your Android device.
2. Launch Android Data Recovery software on computer and choose 'Data Recovery'
3. Choose file types to Scan
4. Preview and restore lost data from Android phone.
Stop using your phone to prevent new files from overwriting lost data. Then try to use data recovery software to detect the photos from internal storage. If it can be detected, recovery is simple.

I tend to think it's a lost cause especially if the drive is zeroed out when you flashed.
Don't know but...
This wouldn't surprise me as it's a wise precaution to ensure a clean flash/load.
Even if not overwritten the file structure is lost as that was certainly overwritten when you flashed it. All you will find at best is completely random disjointed files.
The images will have no metadata ie time stamp etc. If you have hundreds, thousands of random images just forgetting about them becomes the less frustrating option many times. There's no way to index them except by memory, one at a time.
Been there, done that
Been trying to find an app or procedure to backup my 20GB+ games library on my Redmi Note 5 (whyred) to external card storage and nothing seems to work effectively or simply. Tried apps like zBackup and got "failed" messages when restoring. My goal is to easily restore my extensive game library (data & obb) if I ever have to wipe clean my internal storage after doing a factory reset or installing a different rom.
with root your chances are much better, I use an app downloaded from fdroid called OAndBackupX. it has most of the major functions of titanium backup had but functional.

Yes, it's rooted. Is there a guide to batch backup/restore data and obb files? I don't want to have to type in adb commands for each game I want to back up and restore.
